The purpose of this study is to get an understanding about how Municipalities in Sweden integrate climate-change into the social planning; especially the risk of flooding. To get a good picture of the planning process, background about the following are given; flooding, social planning and protective measures that can be taken against flooding. Three Municipalities in the south of Sweden is studied; Halmstad, Vellinge and Kristianstad. They have in their work progressed differently and Kristianstad is the municipality that already has taken measures to protect themselves against flooding. The other two have only started to plan for the future threat.

The main strategy of gender equality policies has since the 1990s been gender mainstreaming. Many government inquiries show how much the Swedish government, provincial governments and Municipalities are working with gender mainstreaming. The purpose of this paper is to investigative how the Municipalities within the county of Stockholm handle gender mainstreaming demands in relation to other demands that the Municipalities face. This is in order to closer investigate the hidden factors that create barriers to gender mainstreaming efforts. Given the study's purpose and the formulation of research question, qualitative method is the most suitable method to fulfill the purpose.

This study was commissioned by the Västerbotten sports federation, whocalled for an overview of the policies that the Municipalities inVästerbotten work after in the field of sport. The study aimed to identifysports policy programs or documents that have been produced by theMunicipalities, and how they work with them. Furthermore, the studyhighlights the municipality?s politicians reasoning aboutsport andrecreation-sector,and how their sport policy-work was practiced. The datacollection was based on seven interviews and document-collections fromthe 15 Municipalities.

The collection of hazardous waste from the household around Swedish Municipalities varies. 1% of the households waste is hazardous waste. It has hazardous features that can give bad consequences for the nature and human health if we don?t collect it and treat it. Therefore the law controls it, the Municipalities have responsibility for the household waste.

This study puts emphasis on an international discourse describing how cities frequently compete against each other, and also describing factors that cities should enhance to make themselves more competitive. The discourse in this study has therefore been used to seek understanding how three different Municipalities Borlänge, Karlstad and Malmö strive for growth by applying central factors from the discourse on the Municipalities strategic documents. What the study shows is that the central factors from the discourse strongly imprints the strategic documents, but the presence of the factors varies between the Municipalities and also to what meaning that lies behind the strategic goals..

Every year, Swedish Municipalities transfer considerable amounts of profit from public housing companies to the owner municipality. Municipalities are allowed to do this, provided that the money is used to pay for certain purposes. But there are no legal repercussions if they do not comply. Not all Municipalities choose to transfer profits. Based on partisan theory, this difference could be explained by the political governance of the municipality.

Background: Several accounting scandals have caused a development from rules-based to principles-based regulation. Swedish Municipalities follow the principle-based recommendations issued by RKR (The Council for Municipal Accounting). An explicit requirement of component depreciation has been introduced prior to 2014. The principles-based regulatory framework raises some choices regarding the introduction and demands that professional judgments are made. There is some risk that comparability decreases.

Globalisation and diversity has increased the presence of different languages in Swedish Municipalities. As the local administrative authorities with responsibility for the public crisis management, how are these Municipalities coping with crisis communication recipients that are not speaking Swedish? Through an inductive approach, this thesis formulates a theory of crisis communication adaptation by studying Swedish Municipalities with a large part of inhabitants with foreign backgrounds. This thesis finds that Municipalities that are not adapting their crisis communication to non-Swedish speakers follows a discourse that paints a picture of these recipients as at least understanding the Swedish language. Municipalities that do adapt their crisis communication have drawn lessons from local incidents that complements this discourse.

AbstractThis study aims to describe and analyze how the 15 Municipalities of Västerbotten County consider regional targets of development in their comprehensive plans. The study also investigate if there´s any need of improvements for the consideration of regional targets in comprehensive planning.This paper is based on studies of comprehensive plans in Västerbotten County and on three interviews with employers of different Municipalities in the county. An thematic analysis were used to analyze documents and interviews.The result shows that a new comprehensive plan generally takes more consideration to regional targets of development than older plans. The consideration varies a lot between the Municipalities of Västerbotten County and it can be explained by many reasons. The informant?s points out that lack of resources- and competence plus a deficient dialog between Municipalities and regional organizations are the mainly causes.Keywords; regional development, comprehensive planning, strategy for regional development, regional development program, land-use planning.

This paper studies, from a client perspective, how three Swedish Municipalities work with information about a voucher system in homecare. The paper is a qualitative study using structured informant interviews and analysis of documents. The interviewees are responsible of information about the voucher system in the Municipalities. The studied documents describe and clarify the voucher system of the municipality. Neo-institutional organization theory is used to analyse the result.

Injuries caused by accidents are one of the major health problems in Sweden. Risklinjen is a model to increase people?s awareness and possibilities to report risk for injuries. In spite of this several Municipalities choose to leave Risklinjen. This thesis tries to find out how Municipalities argue about Risklinjen and membership in this function..

The aim of this one-year master thesis in archival science was to examine how Municipalities take regulations concerning public records into account when they use Facebook. Another aim was to examine the involvement of archivists, registrars or similar staff in the management of the regulations. Since Swedish archival theory and practice has a close connection to the application of these regulations, such an examination was hopefully going to reveal tendencies of importance for archival science. The method used to collect information was a web questionnaire and the result was based on answers from 21 Municipalities with an official Facebook page. The questionnaire showed that six of the Municipalities regarded documents originating from their Facebook page as public records.

How the running and controlling goes, vary on different Municipalities, depending how the organization is constructed and what is being prioritised.
