ESF-projektet ?Kvinnokraft?. En kvalitativ studie om nyckelaktörers uppfattningar om hinder för integration och projekt för somaliska kvinnor
Compared to all existing ethnic groups in Sweden, the integration of Somali women has failed the most within the aspect of employment. This bachelor?s thesis investigates the obstacles in the integration of Somali women by focusing on one case, a project named ?Kvinnokraft?, partly financed by the European Socialfund.By interviewing eight key actors, opinions about obstacles in the project have been identified. A theoretical framework that incorporates integration, project research, multi-level governance and intersectionality contributes to explaining difficulties in integrating Somali women.The empirical findings show that there are individual, social and institutional holdbacks. Stereotypical perceptions were common amongst officials, which contributes to a creation of an inferior position in the structures of the society for Somali women.
"ESS avgörs i Bryssel": Nätverk söker förankring i institutionell beslutsstruktur
This paper aims at describing and explaining the bi-and multilateral negotiations that are, and have been, taking place between Sweden's chief negotiator Allan Larsson and European countries, and within the EU institutions in Brussels, in order to seek support for the Swedish offer to host the European Spallation Source, ESS. It applies a case study method using political science theories ? governance and government ? and to a large extent information from the involved actors in the policy process. The paper also presents a constructive position, in showing how the negotiations on ESS can turn into a process leading to a decision on the construction of this research facility. ESS is negotiated in networks on bi- and multilateral levels consisting of European research representatives and financiers.

Research shows that managers? work-related prerequisites are significantly different between the male dominated technical administration and the female dominated care and educational administration. Studies also show that what the highest managerial organisation gives priority to, often permeate the whole organisation.
Stigberoende och spelmatriser : Varför har landstinget i Värmland valt att ansöka om att få gå ihop med Region Västra Götaland?
The aim of this study is to try to explain the process using both an actor driven perspective as well as a structural perspective examining the reasons why the County Council of Värmland wants to merge with Region Västra Götaland. The answers to the following research questions are sought to shed light on the problem: What constrained the discretion of the political actors in the choice of region to merge with? Which role did different political actors play? Does the study provide Game Theory, from Rational Choice theory, and Path Dependency, from Historic Institutionalism, a new perspective and strength especially when bringing them together? The study is limited to two policy areas, health care and regional development policy. The structural background is drawn upon the Annual Report 2008 of the County Council Värmland, the Regional Development Program and Regional Transport Infrastructure Plan 2010-2021 by Region Värmland. The chronological order of decisions and events is drawn upon protocols from various regional political organs all linked to the municipal of Värmland and the correspondence between the officials of Värmland?s municipal and the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency of the State.
Varför förekommer rörliga ersättningar i det svenska corporate governance-systemet? : En undersökning av olika teoretiska perspektiv
Enligt det agentteoretiska synsättet kan osäkerhet kring företagsledarens beteende avhjälpas genom att förutsätta ett opportunistiskt beteende från denne och sedan utforma styrmekanismer som begränsar denna opportunism. Agentteorin har dock sitt ursprung i en amerikansk kontext med helt andra värderingar än de som format de svenska institutionerna. Därmed öppnas det för andra orsaker och teorier som kan förklara förekomsten av rörliga ersättningar i Sverige.Syftet med denna uppsats är att bidra till diskussionen om vilket eller vilka teoretiska perspektiv som kan ligga bakom förekomsten av belöningssystem i Sverige.Uppsatsen bygger på kvantitativ forskningsstrategi detta eftersom författarna försöker finna ett samband mellan olika variabler. Genom att utgå från en total populations undersökning av ca 300 börsnoterade företag kom den slutliga populationen som uppfyllde de uppställda kriterierna att uppgå till 211 företag. Respektive bolags årsredovisningar studerades därefter med hjälp av ett kodningsschema som angav informationen som skulle inhämtas och kvantifieras. Information har sedan statistiskt bearbetats för att kunna bidra till att testa de uppställda hypoteserna.Eftersom att ingen av agentteorins antagande som prövades kunde styrkas indikerar detta att andra teorier kan vara bättre lämpade. Resultaten indikerar på att det är institutionell teori i form av härmande isomorfism och symbolisk kompensation som är mer tillämplig för att förklara rörliga ersättningar i det svenska corporate governance-systemet.

Sweden was transformed to a democratic industrial society in the late 19th century. Political influence had been bound to the four estates, nobles, clergy, burghers and farmers. The reforms of the 1860s moved Sweden towards political democracy with universal suffrage. At the national level a two-chamber parliament was established in 1866. Political power should now be a function of economic status.

The aim of this study is to investigate ex-Jehovah's witnesses' experiences with accessibility
in relation to sexual and reproductive health. The purpose is to build on the understanding of
how closed Christian communities view the power over their own bodies in relation to sexual
and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The results are examined and analyzed through
Foucault's ideas about power.
The thesis is built upon an exploratory point of view, where the focus is to examine the
experiences of former Jehovah's witnesses. The theoretical framework assumes that there are
different types of power relations, specifically in the form of biopower, disciplinary power
and governmentality. Through semi-structured interviews, six former members have been
interviewed.
The results indicate the complex relation between Jehovah's witnesses and several forms of
power.
Verksamhetsstyrning med fokus på intressenters och medarbetares betydelse : ett fundament för företagens varaktiga framgång?
We would like to gain a more in depth knowledge of whether the modern orientations both within corporate governance and control philosophy lay the foundation for enterprises? more sustainable success. These both modern orientations are increasingly focusing on the importance of enterprises? setting of goals and visions on the basis of stake holders? interests and the employees? more active engagement in and motivation for the goal achievement. Despite these common inherent characteristics, it is not evident from current scientific debate how such integration actually emerges in the control philosophies of the enterprises.
När de blir vi: institutioner, governance och förändring i Öresundskomiteen
In January 2007 the Öresund committy changed its statutes to become a more politically oriented lobby organization. This change can be interpreted as one part of a continuously evolving process where the Öresund region is emancipating itself from the national states in a multi-level European environment. By focusing on this latest development the thesis puts forward the importance of political institutions, as well as politicians and civil servants as actors in them, as crucial factors in the process where the region is gaining political power. The thesis shows how the political cross-border cooperation in the Öresund region is being institutionalized which affects its power relations to other levels in the multi-level system, predominantly the national states. In other words, there is a connection between power and institutionalization.The Öresund committee has by gaining better access to policymaking agendas on the national levels proven that the organizational change has already started to bear fruit.
Ofarliga aktörer med osynlig makt : Regionplaneringens kommunikativa genomförande via sociala nätverk
I samband med att de två senaste regionala utvecklingsplanerna upprättats har regionplaneringen i Stockholms län kommit att utvecklas till att fokusera mer på dialog och process via sociala nätverk. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka varför denna utveckling kommit till stånd och hur den sett ut samt analysera hur regionplaneringen bedrivs genom dessa sociala nätverk. Det empiriska materialet har bestått av intervjuer med representanter från olika samverkansprocesser som bedrivs eller har bedrivits inom det fallstudieområde jag valt; Stockholmsregionens gröna kilar. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten har varit territorial governance samt kommunikativ och kollaborativ planering. Slutsatserna är att regionplaneringens frånvaro av lagstiftad genomförandemakt ger dem en annan makt över den regionala utvecklingen i form av tillgång till governancenätverk.
Environmental, Social and Governance : Hot eller möjlighet för investerare
This study explores whether environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues affect the monetary value of a company.The samples used in this study have been taken from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in South Africa. Since 2010, JSE have been categorizing companies using the King Code III criteria to establish a Socially Responsible Investment index (SRI index). Companies that fulfill the required number of criteria are classified as 'best performers' using the SRI index. In this study the monetary value of a random sample of 'best performers' has been compared to the monetary value of a random sample of companies without an SRI index evaluation.This study found that companies without a SRI index have a higher unique risk, which means a lower stock price with a higher dividend yield. Companies with an SRI index evaluation have a lower unique risk, which means a higher stock price and lower dividend yield. In conclusion, this study shows that SRI adjusted companies have an enhanced monetary value in comparison to non- SRI adjusted companies..
Miljöredovisning-staten som ledstjärna???
Titel: En regulativ reforms vandring mellan olika kontexter:revisionskommittéer på ?resande fot?.Bakgrund: Allt fler länder väljer att implementera olika regulativa reformer inom corporate governance från andra länder, oftast från de anglosaxiska. En regulativ reform kan vara en riktlinje, en bestämmelse eller förordning. Då det har påvisats tydliga skillnader mellan olika länders corporate governance system, kan det ifrågasättas om det verkligen fungerar attöverföra regulativa reformer bara för att de har visat sig fungera bra i ettannat land.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och förklara vad som händer meden regulativ reform då den införs i en ny kultur och affärskontext. Som exempel på en regulativ reform har vi i vårt fall studerat införandet av revisionskommitteer i svensk kontext.Metod: För att komma fram till vad som kan hända med en implementeradregulativ reform i en ny kultur och affärskontext, har vi valt att titta närmare på implementeringen av revisionskommittéer i Sverige.Slutsats: Vi har kommit fram till att en regulativ reform som kommer från en annan kultur och affärskontext kommer att omtolkas då den överförs till en ny kontext.
Konditionalitet, effektivitet och legitimitet. En normativ studie av politisk konditionalitet.
Since the end of the Cold War, foreign aid donors have been using political conditionality to promote human rights, democracy and good governance in recipient countries. This phenomenon has been analyzed and criticized, but mainly from a strictly empirical point of view. In this paper, the legitimacy of political conditionality is analyzed through a normative perspective based on the extrinsic value of efficiency. If the political conditions don?t result in a democratic development, including respect of human rights and good governance, they can not be justified.With at theoretical focus on the donors, based on the unequal relationship between donor and recipient, I am examining the donors? possibility and supposed will to use political conditions in development cooperation.
Styrkortstillämpning i två kommunala förvaltningar : hur en lokal kommunal kontext påverkar och påverkas av en styrmodell
A variety of studies have been conducted on the use of the balanced scorecard in the public sector. Fewer studies, however, is made at a lower, more local level within municipal departments. The aim is to describe the scorecard application by two different departments, while scorecard adjustment over time and actors and their rules are addressed in this context. This has led us to the following problem: How can scorecard application be described in two different departments in a municipal context? In the theoretical framework we presented fundamental theories of balanced scorecard in different contexts, a scorecards translation process and the rules that guide and limit the actors in the organization.
