The acts of promoting local business and implementing efforts to appear as an attractive location for potential business are rather new activities among Swedish municipalities. The knowledge about how these activities are organised and what strategies are perused are fairly limited. In addition the structures concerning cooperation between municipalities for economic policies contain incentives both for and against cooperation. This creates a complicated situation. Using prior research mainly done by Markus Gossas, Lennart J Lundqvist and an analytical model designed by Jon Pierre, which in this essay is completed with the works of Roger Henning, these issues are addressed.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out the possibilities for librarians and book bloggers to collaborate. We find this relevant because of blogs being a new medium that could be useful for librarians to embrace. Book blogs are often networks of blogs connected to each other through their common interest in literature and we have examined how this could be of use for librarians.The method we have used is semi-structured interviews, which gave us the possibility to adjust our questions based on the informants? answers, when necessary. Our informants have been both librarians and book bloggers; we have met some of them and interviewed the others by e-mail.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva hur innebörden av begreppet vardagsrehabilitering (VR) uppfattas inom kommunal äldreomsorg. Datainsamling utfördes genom enskilda intervjuer med omvårdnadspersonal, arbetsterapeuter, enhetschefer samt beslutande politiker, fem respektive sex i varje grupp. Data analyserades utifrån en kvalitativ innehållsanalys inspirerad av fenomenografi som resulterade i två kategorier: 1) VR innebär kommunikation, samarbete och resurser, samt 2) VR innebär ett synsätt där träning i aktivitet möjliggörs i alla situationer. Resultatet visade att alla respondenter anser att innebörden av begreppet VR är att de äldre inom kommunal äldreomsorg ska få möjlighet att utföra aktiviteter utifrån egen förmåga. Andra särskilt framträdande aspekter gällande VR är att det anses innebära en god kommunikation, vara ett självklart synsätt som inte behöver diskuteras, samt att utbildning är viktigt men inte en förutsättning för att arbeta vardagsrehabiliterande..

Den här uppsatsen handlar om musiklärares syn på pojkar och flickor i den enskilda musikundervisningen, och hur musiklärare upplever det egna förhållningssättet till pojkar och flickor vid den kommunala musik och kulturskolan.Syftet med undersökningen är att ta reda på om musiklärarna upplever några skillnader i pojkar och flickors beteende, och hur musiklärarna upplever att de bemöter eleverna utifrån ett genusperspektiv i den enskilda undervisningen.Undersökningen bygger på intervjuer med fem yrkesverksamma musiklärare i västra Värmland och hur de utifrån sina upplevelser och uppfattningar har svarat på underökningens frågeställningar.Undersökningen visar att musiklärarna upplever vissa skillnader mellan pojkar och flickor. Vidare visar studien att musiklärarna även bemöter eleverna olika utifrån om eleven är en pojke eller flicka..

Within telecommunication and routing of tra?c in IP-networks a protocol named?Open Shortest Path First? (OSPF) is widely used. This means that a server dealswith the routing over a network with given weights by calculating shortest paths touse for routing. If we assume that a desired tra?c pattern is given the problem isto ?nd out if it is possible to set the weights so that the desired tra?c pattern is apart of a shortest path graph.

The profit a company makes is dependant of its employees which means that their competence is important for the company to perform well. The middle manager has a central position in the organization and is expected to take on different roles. This probably puts a lot of demands on the middle managers and their competence. We want to contribute with a comprehension of how learning, competence and needs for competence can look at a middle management level. Furthermore we also want to find out what kind of strategy for competence development the middle managers want the company to use so their competence development can be facilitated.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how male and female is produced in the literary children?s literature that is found in a Municipal preschool. My issues are the following:Which sex dominates as a main character in the preschools literary books?What type of properties is attributed to the characters?What type of clothes is portrayed on the books characters?I performed a quantitative study of 136 children?s books. I used Maria Nikolajevas perceptions of stereotypical male and female properties to analyze my empirical data.

The Swedish field of digital X-ray imaging has since several years relied heavily on distributed information systems and digital storage containers. To ensure accurate and safe radiological reporting, Swedish software-firm eCare AB delivers a system called Feedback?the first and only quality assurance IT support product of its kind. The purpose of this study has been to create a communication plan to use at the launch of an independent fashion store and give a current storeowner an overall picture concerning which communication aspects to use during his ongoing business. To fulfill our purpose we have targeted one important question, which is:   Which communication fields are the most important to use, when you are about to launch an independent fashion store.  For this study we have used a qualitative approach in which we have conducted eleven personal interviews with people who has a strong understanding in communication regarding to this type of business. Most of our respondents are currently working actively with communication because they are active in retailing.The remaining respondent has a strong experience in the field of communication. In this essay I try to find out how the local political climate in the Swedish Municipal Örebro looks like through the eyes of Michel Foucault. I?ve been focusing on the concept power, knowledge and politic. I?ve been applying the discourse theory on the study and the founder of that theory is Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau, the discoursetheory is a refinement of Foucaults thoughts about discourse.

This report describes the results of the project "Concept development of jet engine inspection plugs" carried out in the spring of 2008. The work was done at the department of product definition at the company Volvo Aero in Trollhättan. The objective of the work was to develop concepts for a "Volvo-unique" inspection plug. The work is part of Volvo Aero's focus on proprietary (self-developed) technologies. Inspection plugs can be found on virtually all aircraft engines and gas turbines.

Changes in media technology and markets create new demands and challenges for society. The relationship between sport and the media is an example. Sport as a form of entertainment provides pleasure and excitement for the audience and high ratings for networks and media companies. This study examines elite athletes? views of media coverage and the extent to which such coverage affects their athletic performance.

The purpose of the study was to examine what possibilities and obstacles, according to the personnel and patients in a methadone treatment, exist in the patient's social rehabilitation. How does the methadone treatment encourage the patient's social rehabilitation, what possibilities/obstacles are there according to personnel and patients? What does the patient see as important aspects of his/her social rehabilitation and what importance does the methadone have on the treatment? The results show that there are difficulties for patients to rebuild their life, find employment, start new social networks and get by with everyday tasks. The support from friends and family will simplify the patient's social rehabilitation, otherwise they get isolated and alone. Patients feel that they are fighting for a successful treatment so that they can have a relationship with friends and families again.

This study aims at examining the prospects for a policy transfer of a Swedish municipal environmental policy (that of Växjö) to the French urban commune Blois, for which an ambition of becoming a leading eco-city in France, was declared by the mayor in 2008.In the analysis, emphasis is laid on mechanisms to institutionalize the main environmental policy principles, such as political and institutional structures and processes. Other prospects for an institutionalization of a new environmental policy that are to be investigated are economic structures as well as visions of the different decision-makers concerned. Research methods used in the study are qualitative interviews, document studies and a questionnaire.The findings of the analysis show that today?s prospects for an environmental policy in Blois close to that of Växjö, are clearly limited. The limitations can partly be found in economic structures but these seem to be rather related to a lack of priority amongst actors.

The purpose of this study was to examine participants' experiences and descriptions of a municipal activation program, and how participants perceive their opportunities for influence on their own needs and requirements. The results are based on statements from six semi-structured, individual interviews conducted by the qualitative method. Empowerment, paternalism and social capital are among the study's theoretical frame of reference. The main results show that more participants are critical of aspects of coercion and involuntary willingness in participation. Motivation for participation seems to mainly be linked to whether the activity is experienced as meaningful, as well as to the attitude of the staff.
