The supply of uninterruptible power can be applied to many areas wherecontinuous operation is highly prioritized.The application of uninterruptible power for motor operation is facilitatedusing a frequency converter. Ultra-capacitors have high energy storing capabilities and can be applied to highpower applications.Maxwell is a leading manufacturing company of ultracapacitors and pro-vide different modules with built-in solutions for voltage balancing. Unevenvoltages between series-connected capacitors is a phenomenon caused by vary-ing capacitance. A configuration containing Maxwell?s 56V module is createdand constitutes the power reserve in the simulations.The discharge simulation shows a significant current that could damagethe system.

VÀssarös rederi bedriver idag transporter av gods och dessutom passagerartrafik, till och frÄn VÀssarö, med vanlig diesel som brÀnsle. I detta arbete undersöks vilka alternativa brÀnslen som skulle kunna anvÀndas i VÀssarös fartyg. Syftet med detta arbete Àr att undersöka hur VÀssarös rederi kan byta till ett brÀnsle som har mindre pÄverkan pÄ miljön. Information har sammanstÀllts om flera brÀnsletyper och intervjuer har genomförts med motortillverkare, brÀnsleleverantörer och ett skÀrgÄrdsrederi som genomfört tester med syntetisk diesel. Resultatet visar att ett tÀnkbart alternativt brÀnsle Àr syntetisk diesel och det brÀnslet skulle ej krÀva modifieringar av motor eller brÀnslesystem och ej heller nya förvaringsrutiner.

Syftet med föreliggande undersökning Àr att fÄ kunskap om hur nÄgra arbetslösa ungdomar upplever sin situation som arbetslös, vilket studeras med fokus pÄ framtidstro, sin egen förmÄga/kompetens till att pÄverka möjligheterna att fÄ jobb samt vilka faktorer de upplever Àr viktiga nÀr det gÀller att fÄ ett jobb inom en snar framtid. Detta studeras utifrÄn teorierna om locus of control och self-efficacy. TvÄ tjejer och fem killar i Äldrarna 16-24 Är, samtliga arbetslösa och inskrivna pÄ Ungdomskraft, deltog i semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultatet visade att majoriteten av ungdomarna har en hög tilltro till sina egna resurser och upplever att de sjÀlva har kontroll över sin situation som arbetslös. Vidare visade resultaten pÄ ett mönster mellan intern locus of control och hög self-efficacy i samband med en positiv framtidstro med avseende pÄ att fÄ ett jobb..

The present study examines the demolition of a house on Hammarkulletorget in 1996 and the discourse of Hammarkullen, Gothenburg(Sweden), drawn from the perspective of historicization [?historisering?]. I have examined how the past played role inpresentations of Hammarkullen and how the past affected the decision to demolish a house. By examining which role the neighbourhood?spast time played in the perception of the neighbourhood, the thesis aims at providing a better understanding of howthe past can influence and legitimize major changes in the urban environment.In the early 1980s the image of Hammarkullen as a victim of negative publicity is established and this reputation lives beyond thesimplistic and negative descriptions themselfs.

The aim of the study is to get a better understanding of leader's reactions in a crisis situation, and to examine whether locus of control and coping strategies can be related to leaders need for social support. The role of a leader in a crisis situation is complex and includes several aspects which must be illustrated to understand the leader's situation. Four leaders have participated in the study. The methods that have been used are questionnaires for measuring locus of control and coping and semi-structured interviews. The results show that search for social support cannot be seen as an outcome of a specific locus of control or coping strategy.

This report is the result of a master thesis at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Division of Industrial and Economical Development, at Linköping University of Technology. The project was carried out on behalf of Fanerami AB, Mjölby and includes 20 weeks of full time schedule work.Cabinets with vertical mounted roller shutters all share the same problem, namely weight balancing. A roller shutter has an equilibrium area where the sum of the different forces acting on the shutter equals zero. As the shutter leaves that area it will pick up speed as it falls towards the bottom. When the shutter hits the bottom of the cabinet there is a potential risk of getting fingers caught and in this project a solution to prevent this from happening was to be presented.In this project, three concepts have been generated with the following different purposes:?In concept 1 the risk of getting any fingers caught when the shutter closes was to be eliminated in an efficient and inexpensive way.?In concept 2 the roller shutter had to be balanced at all time providing the possibility to keep the cabinet open in any position.?The last and most challenging task was to create a remote controlled TV cabinet.

The aim of this thesis is to examine what factors that influences the management control in a family business operating in a sector in which they are under-represented. We have therefore conducted a case study of a family business in the finance sector, E. Öhman J: or Fondkommission AB (Öhman). The first conclusion is that the management control in Öhman is influenced by the environment and the increasing size of the company. We have found, however, that it is to an even larger extent affected by the fact that it is a family business even though the company is operating in a sector in which family businesses are not the norm.

Audit is a service of society that takes place in the public interest. To guarantee the quality of auditing a quality control is done with predetermined time intervals. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze the concept quality and the procedure of the quality control and further to tie concepts like trust and ethics to the audit profession. To make the picture complete the paper also provides an insight regarding what deficiencies in quality, in other words failures, means to the audit profession. By performing semi-structured interviews with seven qualified auditors, active on different auditing firms in SkÄne, substantial information was collected.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and explain the similarities and differences in management control between a private and a public primary care company. A comparative case study was developed based on one public and one private primary care company in Stockholm County Council. The framework of Otley (1999) was used to define and limit the area of management control systems, according to his five factors. For the analysis of the empirical results Hood's (1995) seven doctrines of New Public Management was applied, and customized to fit the purpose of the study. The results indicate that the differences between the two organizations are very limited.

The purpose with this thesis is to investigate how the logistic and the configuration of the terminal buildings and the perceptions of the passengers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport are related to each other, and what effect it has on the passengers and their traveling within the airport.The focus will be on the logistic at all four terminal buildings that is within the Airport. To create a perception of the logistic at the Airport and how it is related to the passengers perceptions, the investigators need to make knowledge of the terminal buildings, and thereby try to link the logistic with the perception of the experience room.Swedavia is the company that own, operate at and manage Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The investigators will make an interview with employees at Swedavia to get a more profound understanding of how the company is thinking about the logistic issues that they need to overlook. There will also be interviews with travelers to get their perception of the logistic, design and atmosphere at the Airport.Observations will also be made at various times at the Airport with focus on all of the terminal buildings. The investigators use qualitative and quantitative methods to reach a result. To achieve a result, the investigators will use theories and scientific facts and other available facts that will be helpful to reach a result that will be analyzed..

Syftet med undersökningen var att se om det fanns nÄgon skillnad i Locus of Control och arbetstillfredsstÀllelse hos mÀn och kvinnor i privat och offentlig sektor. Antal deltagare i undersökningen var 60 dÀr tvÄ urvalsgrupper anvÀnts bestÄende av privat (n = 30) och offentlig (n = 30) sektor i Blekinge och SkÄne lÀn. MÀtinstrumenten som anvÀndes var ett arbetstillfredsstÀllelseformulÀr och ett Locus of Control formulÀr. T- test, korrelationsanalys, multipel regression och tvÄvÀgs-ANOVA anvÀndes för berÀkning av data i SPSS. Slutsatser som kunde dras var att mÀn generellt sett Àr mer tillfredsstÀllda Àn kvinnor och att offentliganstÀllda Àr mer tillfredsstÀllda Àn privatanstÀllda.

The purpose of this study is to explore active after-school teacher?s perceptions of the concept of meaningful leisure time. The purpose of the study is also to investigate if the interpretations of meaningful leisure time affect the perception of their work roles and after-school teacher?s actual work in a leisure activity. The study also provides an insight into how afterschool teachers perceive their roles in general.

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate if and how the employees in elderly care experience stress and which underlying causes they understand to be important in their work situation. The purpose was also to investigate whether Karaseks and Theorells demands and control models could be used to explain the employees feelings of stress and to see in which categories the participants are in. Furthermore, the purpose was also to understand the participants work situation and to describe the factors and remedies the employees perceive to contribute to the stress levels at their workplace. 81 questionnaires were distributed at three different locations, two of which were in Ronneby and one in Örebro. 56 people answered the questionnaires. The result yielded that 80% of the participants felt stress during their working hours the last few years. The results are in agreement with the demands and control models which showed that people with high demands and low control experienced a higher degree of stress than people with lower demands and higher control, which corroborates the hypothesis 1.1..
