This is a qualitative study where the purpose was to investigate what professionals experience to be the reason for an individual to become addicted to gambling and continues to gamble even though it leads to negative consequences. The purpose was also to investigate what the professionals experienced was of importance for an individual to recover from a gambling addiction. The study was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with knowledgeable individuals in the field. The main findings of the study were that the motivation for individuals with a gambling problem to continue gamble was that they saw gambling as the solution to their problems by winning back lost money. It was common that gambling was an escape from anxiety, guilt, shame, and other gambling-related problems such as financial liabilities.

This thesis studied which factors affect political participation among people with physical disabilities in Sweden.? The aim of the study was to test how Civic Voluntarism Model should explain the low political participation among people with physical disabilities in Sweden, through deep interviews.? Following research questions has been studied in the thesis:? How can the Civic Voluntarism Model, based on the time, communicative skills and economic resources, explain the low political participation of people with physical disabilities in Sweden??Which other factors, linked to accessibility, discrimination and legislation, are needed to further explain and understand the barriers to political engagement and participation for people with physical disabilities?? Results about treatment, clearer legislation, economic possibilities and inclusion was central. It became important to considered that where is differences in which capabilities where are to political participation. The CVM could partly explain the low political participation among people with physical disabilities. It needs to be complete with external factors; accessibility, discrimination and legalization, to make more inclusive explanations.? .

Earlier research has shown that combining education with entertainment can improve students motivation in school. With this study we aim to learn more about interactive digital learning resources and how they should be designed to entertain and thereby contribute to motivation. We have identified aspects of educational games that also could be considered when developing interactive digital learning resources, to make them more entertaining and motivating. We have chosen to study and evaluate an interactive digital learning resource called ?Grasp the Disaster?, a fictional online adventure created for students in the ages between 13-15.

This study examined the factors influencing dairy farmers´ decisions to invest in automated milking systems (AMS). The problem studied involves uncertainty, information and complexity for dairy farmers in specific decision contexts. The frame of reference in the thesis combines contingency theory and decision theory and is used in a qualitative analysis of a set interview with dairy farmers who have recently bought an AMS and salespersons from Delaval, one of the AMS suppliers.The aim of this study is to develop an understanding of the decision making processes of dairy farmers, and in particular to identify which types of factors influence the outcome of an investment decision in the technological development of a farm.The study uses Thompsons` (1967) theory about the structure that organizations develop to handle the input of information. Thus, interest is focused on how a farm business structure handles information in the AMS decision, investigating the differences in information with Delaval?s "feed first principle" system and Lely?s "free cow traffic" system.The results of the qualitative interviews with the dairy farmers who bought an AMS show that there are three important factors that influence the outcome: employees, suppliers and the owner.

Syfte: Att identifiera metoder för projektledare att använda motivation för att minimera negativ stress. Metod: Kvalitativa djupintervjuer Slutsatser: Vi har definierat tre metoder som bidrar till att en internaliseringskedja påbörjas. Internalisering ökar den inre motivationen både hos projektledare och hos projektdeltagare och kan bidra till att minska negativ stress. Den första metoden handlar om att utveckla en modell gällande vilken information projektledare behöver från beställare när projekt beställs. Den andra metoden handlar också om behovet av ökad beställarkompetens, och innebär att utbilda beställarna. Den tredje metoden innebär att tydliggöra gränsen mellan projektledarens och projektdeltagarnas ordinarie chefs ansvar när det kommer till motivations- och stressfrågor gällande projektmedlemmarna.

Att vara egenföretagare är en anställningsform som blir allt vanligare och genom att skapa en förståelse för varför denna anställningsform växer ökar även kunskapen om egenföretagarnas drivkraft och trivsel. Motivation har en nära koppling till arbetstillfredsställelse och är en viktig del i egenföretagarnas vardag.  Studiens syfte var att skapa en förståelse om vad som påverkar egenföretagarnas arbetstillfredsställelse och även att ta reda på betydelsefulla motivationsfaktorer. Denna kvalitativa undersökning är baserad på intervjuer av 15 egenföretagare. Resultatet visade att en god arbetsmiljö, utmaningar och självständighet har en positiv påverkan på arbetstillfredsställelsen medan en hög arbetsbelastning påverkade arbetstillfredsställelsen negativt. Variation och skapande i arbetet, erkännande och utveckling visade sig vara bland de starkaste motivationsfaktorerna för att egenföretagare skulle fortsätta driva sitt företag..

The food prices in Finland and Sweden have been a subject for discussion for several years back in time. From the opponents against further European integration one have often heard that the EU and EMU entrance have made an negative impact on the food prices. This study show us that the impactof the entrances was extensive in the short run but rather finite and insignificant in the long run.Other important factors that describe why food prices fluctuate is also discussed. The mainconclusion is that other factors than the EU and EMU entrance should be seen as more likely whenit comes to the development of food prices. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka de skäl som motiverar äldre människor att motionera och att undersöka hur tillgången till idrottsanläggningar påverkar deras motivation till motion. Metod: Tio äldre människor (60-72 år) intervjuades med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultat: Resultaten av intervjuanalysen bidrog till att identifiera flera huvudteman som skäl till att motionera. Dessa teman är: Fysiskt välbefinnande, Psykiskt välbefinnande, Socialt tillhörighet, Synliga resultat och Ändrade livsförhållanden. Resultaten visade också att närheten till idrottsanläggningar är av stor betydelse för äldres motivation till motion. Slutsats: Sammanfattningsvis tycks äldre människors motivation till motion vara knuten till deras känslor inför dem själva, de positiva effekter motionen hade på deras hälsa och andra aspekter av deras liv. Studiens resultat bidrar med förslag till åtgärder som kan vara viktiga att tillämpas som motivationsfaktorer. Dessa förslag kan hjälpa att motivera äldre människor att motionera..

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the process of overtraining syndrome as a part of development in sports and careers. It is based on theories about overtraining syndrome and athlete career transitions. The intention was to find patterns that illustrate critical factors in the athlete career for overtraining syndrome to occur, but also for preventing overtraining syndrome to emerge and for rehabilitation.The Informant was a 19 years old man who had completed his studies at a Swedish sports-?gymnasium?. Two semi structured interviews were made, the second as a following up interview.

Due to the option of being an anonymous user, the concept of trust plays a big part in how virtual communities are working. It is therefore of interest to investigate how trust develops between users in virtual communities. SyfteSyftet med studien är att undersöka hur projektledare självskattar sitt ledarskap och projektmedlemmar upplever motivation i pre-development projekt på Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset och Scania.MetodStudien är kvantitativ och deduktiv. För att undersöka förekomst av transformellt ledarskap hos projektledare och inre motivation hos projektmedlemmar har vi valt att använda två frågeformulär, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Leader Form respektive Work Preference Inventory. Båda formulären är undersökta av forskare vad gäller validitet och reliabilitet.ResultatResultatet i vår undersökning visade att projektledare på Karolinska hade en högre förekomst av transformellt ledarskap än de på Scania. I båda organisationerna fanns även transaktionellt ledarskap i ganska stor utsträckning medan förekomsten av passivt undvikande ledarskap var lägre. I analysen av underfaktorerna i MLQ Leader Form (5x-Short) visade våra data för transformellt ledarskap att idealiserade inflytandet och intellektuell stimulans låg högre på Karolinska.
