The Division of Language and Communication at Chalmers uses a web-based language tool, named EngOnline, to teach English grammar. The language tool suffers from some shortcomings. These include stability problems and an outdated interface but, above all, there is no documentation. Because of the lack of documentation and EngOnline?s need of maintenance, the Division of Language and Communication has decided to replace the language tool with a new and well documented one.The new language tool was developed using an agile work process; detailed documentation was replaced with more efficient communication.

Sammanfattning Syfte:Syftet med vår undersökning var att skapa förståelse för hur företag arbetar med etiska och moraliska frågor i samband med ekonomistyrning. Metod:Vår undersökning har gjorts i tre svenska företag genom personliga intervjuer med personer i chefs- eller ledarposition på varje företag. Den insamlade empirin har sedan sammanställts och analyserats genom att jämföra den med vårt teoriavsnitt. Slutsats:Vi har kommit fram till fyra punkter som enligt vår undersökning är centrala för arbetet med etiska och moraliska frågor i de företag vi undersökt. Dessa är värderingar, förståelse, ledarskap och företaget.

Ethical competence is an important precondition when people are to respond to moral problem situations as efficiently as possible. In these situations it is not easy to make choices and decisions, especially when many stakeholders are involved with various opinions and interests.The purpose of this thesis was to generate a web-based support tool to train and promote ethical competence of the users of this tool.We first created a theoretical basis by studying the major theories of ethics in general and ethical competence in particular. The importance of ethical competence and its main subject, namely, the autonomy in the theoretical part described and specified. In addition has the practical ethical reflection over morality preferred and characterized to the classical ethical passivity over morality. We have also preferred and characterized the autonomous thinking to the heteronomous one.Based on the theoretical base a prototype tool to support the training of ethical competence was designed and developed.

Genom åtta intervjuer med pedagoger, som alla undervisar i livskunskap, samt en intervju med rektorn på den utvalda skolan har vi i denna undersökning velat ta reda på hur dessa tolkar begreppet livskunskap och hur pedagogerna arbetar med ämnet i skolan. Vi ville även undersöka varför det finns ett behov av livskunskap på schemat. För att se om den teoretiska synen motsvaras av den praktiska vekligheten har vi även observerat fem lektioner i livskunskap. Resultatet visar att definitionerna av livskunskap är många men att det finns några gemensamma nämnare. Livskunskap beskrivs som bland annat, etik och moral, dagsaktuella händelser, social träning, konflikthantering och skolans värdegrund.

Den svenska lagstiftningen lägger en stor del av ansvaret och kostnaderna för källsortering på hushållen trots att det inte finns några formella tvång. Den här uppsatsen bygger på en enkätundersökning som utförts på hushåll i Linköping och undersöker varför många hushåll frivilligt källsorterar och bidrar till den kollektiva nyttan miljön. Detta analyseras först utifrån individens ansvarskänsla för miljön, där syftet är att undersöka om detta kan fungera som en förklarande faktor till att individer källsorterar. För att få in ytterligare ett perspektiv på analysen beaktas även individens uppfattning om att han gör nytta när han källsortera, genom ett experiment där respondenterna får ta ställning till hur han förhåller sig till källsortering efter ny kritisk information.Respondenternas uppfattning om att källsortering är miljövänligt verkar ha betydelse för deras motivation till att källsortera. Vidare kan ansvarskänslan och vilken information respondenterna har tillgång till mycket väl vara viktiga faktorer för deras källsortering, även om detta inte med säkerhet går att visa i undersökningen..

This master thesis covers the development of an automatic tuning process for the existing speed controller for drive systems. The drive systems are resonant two-mass systems where a motor is used to drive a load connected by a shaft. The developed method relies heavily on system identification and the construction of a complete mechanical model of the process. With this approach, the common problem with poor load speed control that derives from measuring only the motor speed can be addressed and solved for a majority of such processes.The automatic tuning method has along with general test functions been implemented in a complete tool for automatic tuning, testing and performance evaluation and reporting for drive systems..

Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka varför studenter väljer att fuska och vilka skäl de anger till detta handlande. Jag har utgått ifrån följande frågeställningar: Vilka skäl eller förklaringar till fusk anger studenterna som fuskar? Vad kan påverka studenten att välja fusk? Skapar dagens individualiserade samhälle en studiesituation där fusk blir ett medel för karriär? Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av en mångmetodologisk ansats där två former av textanalys (innehållsanalys och argumentationsanalys) används. 82 protokoll från landets disciplinnämnder behandlade år 2006 har studerats. 17 av Sveriges högskolor och universitet finns representerade bland dessa.

During the three first centuries A.D the cult to roman emperor was practiced over the absolute majority of the known world. In the current situation there is not much written about assessment of laboratory work, and the majority of the working physics teachers are retiring and there are only a few newly qualified physics teachers. The purpose of this thesis is to examine how physics teachers assess laboratory work within upper secondary schools, with Gy2011 in mind. The new grade system, Gy2011, has a larger focus on the laboratory work then the earlier system Lpf 94. Skolverket has in their man-ual with examples of assessment two different sorts of laboratory experiments. The first assess-ment is regarding the planning of a laboratory work and the other about how able the pupil exe-cutes laboratory work.

This Masters thesis aims at investigating how 15-year old girls use the Internet, particularly on their free time, taking a source critical perspective. It includes group interviews. The main question of this thesis was whether there is a need for specific user education. The following four questions were asked: What do they do on the Internet during their free time? In what way do the girls learn how to interact with each other on the Internet? How do they relate to different types of web pages and materials from a source critical aspect? What content do they consider to be relevant in a user education? The study is mainly focused on information use and information behaviour in different contexts.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att klargöra hur omvärlden hanterar det skuldproblem som blir allt mer omfattande i många utvecklingsländer. Många afrikanska länder söder om Sahara har fastnat i en fattigdomsfälla och är i desperat behov av förändring. Det globala finansiella systemet, med IMF i spetsen, har uppmärksammat detta problem och genom omstruktureringar och avskrivningar av skulderna vill de ge länderna en möjlighet att komma på fötter igen. Många svårigheter uppkommer när externa parter kommer in och ska lösa skuldproblemen åt länderna. Hänsyn måste tas till de som har givit lånen, såväl som till de skuldsatta ländernas ekonomiska struktur.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects ofWork plan for study- and vocational guidance in Enköpings municipality 2008-2010 to see how it has affected the educators in the municipal primary schools. Questionnaires to teachers and interviews with principals have been made and it came out that the teachers are not very familiar with the plan. Of the few teachers who considered themselves to be familiar with the plan, the majority replied that they had benefited from the plan.The study´s analysis indicates that one of explanation for why so few educators are aware of and working according to the plan is partly in implementation efforts. Weaknesses are shown according to the equivalence of the implementation, but also the importance of the existence of an engaging and driven person, located at the primary schools, that continuously inspires and motivates the teachers to work with this plan. Educators also indicate that they already use study-and vocational guidance in their teaching..

The purpose of the study was to examine how TalkingMats® canbe used to support communication in a group of people with aphasia. Fourpeople with aphasia and their group leader participated. Comparison wasmade between group discussion with and without Talking Mats. Theparticipants used one Talking Mat each. The group discussions werevideotaped and analysed.

This paper attempts to replicate a study from 2009 about users reading habits and the future of e?books. Due to the increased use of smartphones and tablets since 2009, there is a reason to reasearch if the perception and use of e?books has changed. The methods used is qualitative interviews complemented with an online questionnaire.
