The purpose of this essay was to examine female and male nursing students expectations and goals referring to the nursing profession from a gender perspective and examining the students reasons to apply for nursing school. A descriptive study with qualitative design was implemented. Data acquisition was made through interviewing ten nurse students, five male and five female. The interview material were analysed in accordance with Kvale?s method of analyzing.

The study seeks to clarify a cultural change in the armed forces (FM). The study is based on the hypothesis that repeated operations in war-like environment, where the FM sends professional combat units, develop a warrior culture. The empirical results indicate that there is an existing warrior culture at all three units surveyed.The subculture is verified by the constants of western warrior culture described in theory. The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say?What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.

With an estimated 250 ethnic groups, Nigeria, no doubt, has been grappling with the problem of pluralism of ethnic nationalities. It is not news in Nigeria that extreme ethnic consciousness of its citizens has led to the victimization of one ethnic group by another. This victimization has come in the form of exclusions in the distribution of both wealth and power in the country.Amidst all the exclusions, the unity of the country has been ironically regarded as sacrosanct, and should not be negotiated. It is often said that fate brought all the ethnic nationalities in order to form one great country. I subscribe to this belief that fate brought us together for the above purpose, especially now that several countries around the world are merging in one way or the other to form a formidable force to reckon with both politically and economically.

Det senaste decenniet har kantats av skandaler runtom i världen som bidragit till en diskussionom revisorns oberoendeställning vilket medfört negativ påverkan på intressenternasförtroende för revisorn. Oberoendeställningen kan påverkas av revisorns dubbla roller somgranskare och rådgivare då dessa inte är förenliga med varandra. Då innehavet av de dubblarollerna innebär att revisorn ställs inför kritiska situationer blir moralen en viktig aspekt.Syftet med studien är således att öka förståelsen för den personliga moralens påverkan pårevisorns oberoendeställning.I vår studie har vi ett hermeneutiskt synsätt då vi ämnar tolka hur respondenterna upplever sinverklighet. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie utifrån revisorns perspektiv för att få endjupare förståelse för hur respondenterna anser att den personliga moralen påverkaryrkesrollen. Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med revisorer på mindre revisionsbyråer harvi fått fram vårt empiriska material.

Objectives: The purpose of the study was to examine if a pre- and post-operative difference could be seen in self-reported pain disability and self-efficacy among patients undergoing surgery as treatment for spinal disc herniation in order to improve process of rehabilitation.Method: A quantitative and descriptive design was used. 10 patients awaiting surgical treatment for spinal disc herniation were included at Akademiska sjukhuset (The Academic Hospital) in Uppsala. Participation was voluntary and the selection was made by convenience. Data was collected using The Pain Disability Index and Self-Efficacy Scale by which the patient would estimate how hindered they felt because of their pain in everyday activities and their self-efficacy to perform everyday activities. This was done the day before surgery and two weeks after surgery.

The aim of this study was to investigate the knowledge of dental erosion and the consumption habits of soft drinks among secondary school students. Differences between the sexes should also be investigated. The study consisted of 102 students, 60 women and 42 men, in the eleventh grade from a school in the south of Sweden. A questionnaire with 25 questions, divided in two parts with focus on knowledge respective consumption pattern and behaviour, was handed out and collected by the authors. The data showed that more than 50% of the participants had knowledge about dental erosion.

Vi vill utifrån denna fallstudie även skapa en grundläggande förståelse för hur ett formaliserat regelverk påverkar liknande relationer. MetodUndersökningen har genomförts genom en kvalitativ fallstudie baserad på djupintervjuer. Vi har intervjuat sju personer med olika anknytning till relationen mellan läkemedelsindustrin och läkarkåren. Vid undersökningen har vi använt oss av en abduktiv ansats.

Our purpose was to investigate the schools and the social welfare´s experiences of Roman children´s school situation in a Scanian town. We have done a qualitative investigation, interviewing 14 persons from both school and social welfare. Through the interviews we wanted to find the factors which influences the Roman pupils schooling and which efforts the professionals has to their disposition to influence these children´s school situation in a positive direction.The main result of our study is that the majority of the Romans is an isolated group, both in the Swedish school system and in the society. The Romans got access to the Swedish comprehensive school first in 1965, which implies that the Romans have a young school tradition. Most of the Roman pupils have a high absent, which is grounded in a complex of problems.

I denna uppsats har målet varit att försöka skapa en uppfattning om hur lärare säger sig resonera kring styrdokumentens skrivningar om Sveriges nationella minoriteter, hur de hävdar att deras förkunskaper i ämnet ser ut och sedermera hur de säger sig planera och utföra undervisningen kopplat till minoriteterna. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer med sju högstadielärare - tre svensklärare och fyra samhällskunskaps- och historielärare har vi kommit fram till att endast en av de intervjuade lärarna har fått med sig någon kunskap om de nationella minoriteterna från sin lärarutbildning. Detta har lett till att lärarna fått inhämta kunskaper på eget håll. Resultatet visar att alla lärarna i studien säger sig undervisa om minoriteterna, men upplägget på undervisningen ser olika ut sett till innehåll och var det får plats i terminsplaneringen. Mycket beror på klassens komposition då flera av lärarna väljer att styra undervisningens innehåll mot det som känns relevant för demografin i klassrummet.

The Swedish society has trough decades developed into a multicultural society. Minority groups such as Sami have been a part of the country for a long time. By being separated from the majority through culture, language etc. minorities demand the right to become independent and have the ability to practice their culture. History show that minorities all over the world have been discriminated and abused by the majorities. Democratic procedures are often advantages for the majority.

The need for stabile conditions and well functioning professional codes of ethics for companies, especially auditing firms have been growing during the latest years. The purpose of this thesis is to study how swedishness is constructed and narrated in two Swedish documentary series that picture the Swedish participation in the international ISAF mission in Afghanistan. The main focus lies on how the Swedish soldier as such is portrayed, on which values, characteristics and qualities that they are said to embody and how these are linked to notions of swedishness, particularly the strong historical narrative, formed during the second half of the twentieth century, that defines Sweden as a peaceful, neutral and humanitarian state, with peaceful, enlightened and democratically minded citizens. Theoretically it draws on the concept of metanarrative to explain how ideas of shared national origin translates in to a broad organizing discourse, that defines, interprets and communicates notions of what it means to be a Swede and what is needed to make claims on swedishness. Another concept, that of national bodyscape, is also used to further define and explain how ideas of nationality are embodied and take the form of specific characteristics and  personal qualities. The meaning-making in these two series makes use of the above mentioned definition of swedishness as defined by humanitarian concerns, democratic ideals and moral superiority to construct an image of the Swedish soldiers as on the one hand soft, humanitarians, who are needed in Afghanistan because of their especially strong sense of justice and moral, and, on the other, as tough soldiers, who are able to participate in every aspect of the war as fighters.
