Our time is characterized by the development of new technologies that facilitate communication between people. The need for Video Mediated Communication (VMC) is increasing because people move to other locations due to migration and global mobility. VMC provides the opportunity for millions of people around the world to ?hang out? and see each other despite the distance in between. The world is "shrinking" because of the Internet and our perception of distance is changing.VMC is becoming increasingly available, in the form of applications like Skype and MSN for mobile phones and computers, and in addition, it?s practically free.The purpose of this thesis is to render a picture of the way in which people use Skype in the private sphere.

Vi lever i ett informations- och teknologisamhälle och i våra dagliga aktiviteter omges vi av vardagsteknik (VT) på olika sätt och i olika svårighetsgrad. Denna VT kan innefatta allt från brödrost till mer avancerade datasystem och tjänster. Tidigare studier visar att personer med kognitiv funktionsnedsättning kan uppleva svårigheter i användandet av VT i sina dagliga aktiviteter. Dock finns inga studier som visar relevans och svårigheter med VT för yngre vuxna utan kognitiv funktionsnedsättning. Därför vill vi med den här studien beskriva relevans och svårigheter i användandet av VT hos yngre vuxna utan kända kognitiva funktionsnedsättningar.

As the cyber crimes grow in numbers, the workload for technical investigator increases, these are called digital crime investigators. Idag finns det en mängd olika mobiltelefoner tillgängliga på marknaden och många av dessa har olika sorters stöd för ljud. Detta kan leda till stora problem för bland annat spelutvecklare, eftersom det är till fördel om spelet som skall publiceras kan fungera på så många olika mobiltelefoner som möjligt. Målet med detta arbete är att skapa en ljud- och musikhanterare för Furiae med MMAPI, Mobile Media API. MMAPI är ett API, Application Programming Interface, där v1.0 introducerades den 24:e Juni, 2002. Idag finns v1.2 som kom ut den 22:a Maj, 2006.

Vår uppgift var att kombinera och modifiera funktionaliteten hos MobileIP och AdHoc för att få MobileIP att fungera tillsammans med AdHoc-nätverk. Vi skulle också testa två olika AdHoc-protokoll med MobileIP för att kunna jämföra och se vilket av dem som fungerade bäst tillsammans. Vi jobbade först med en nätverkssimulator (NS2) och simulerade olika slags nätverk i scenarion som vi gjort till den. Vi lyckades delvis koppla ihop MobileIP och AdHoc-protokollet DSDV efter modifieringar i nätverkssimulatorn. Vi gick över till att få det hela att fungera i verkligheten istället, och använde oss av operativsystemet Linux och programvaror för MobileIP och AdHoc-protokollet AODV, samt nätverkskomponenter som routrar och switchar till dessa verkliga kopplingar.

Studiens syfte är att utveckla kunskap om lärares motivation till användning av digitalteknik i undervisningen. Ämnet belyses genom frågeställningarna; Vilken förståelse har lärare för den digitala teknikens roll i undervisningen? och Vilka aspekter påverkar lärarnas motivation till användning av digitalteknik i undervisningen? I studien deltar fem verksamma lärare som undervisar i årskurs 1-6. Utifrån semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer beskrivs och kategoriseras aspekter som påverkar lärarnas motivation till att använda digitalteknik i undervisningen.   Studien visar att tvetydighet präglar lärarnas förståelse för den digitala tekniken. Lärarna uppvisar en förståelse för teknikens möjligheter och utnyttjar den för personlig utveckling och som informationsbank.Det framkommer dock inte lika frekvent att den digitala tekniken används i undervisningssituationen.   Det är flera aspekter som påverkar lärarnas drivkraft att använda digitalteknik i undervisningen.

Ericsson?s factory in Kumla, Modules Kumla, became a hub for radio modules and micro base stations, which enables mobile communication through radio base stations, in 2004. Because of this the factory focuses more on the logistics operations. This has led to a need to be able to plan the capacity for the materials handling system. This master thesis has therefore been performed at Modules Kumla to develop a capacity calculation model for the material handling flow during the autumn of 2005.The work has contained a mapping of the material handling flow regarding to which activities was performed and how much time they consumed.

The main environmental problem for aviation is the great amount of exhaust gases, mainly nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons - mostly "greenhouse gases" leading to climate changes. I decided to sort out what is being done to decrease these problems and what regulations there are concerning air pollution by the means of searching the internet and using publications from aviation authorities for current figures. I chose to scrutinize authorities on political, authority and company level, resulting in summarizing the work of UN and EU respectively, ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) and LFV (Swedish Civil Aviation Authority), and finally SAS, representing the airline companies. Conclusion that I have drawn are thatthere are regulations for air pollution, written down in ICAO's Annex 16, that are to be followed. Secondly, LFV are environmentally controlling their nineteen airports and since economy is an important reason for not giving priority to environmental issues in aviation emission charge and noise charge are added to the landing fees.

This thesis paper discusses the results of a survey which was conducted to investigate the potential usefulness of mobile apps in the maintenance department at Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB. The paper contains four sections, a theory section, a method section , a section that explains the functionality of the app, and finally a results section where the results and conclusions of the survey are discussed. The theory section explains and discusses relevant terminology used in the computer science field and in the maintenance industry. The theoretical model used in this paper is also discussed. The methods section gives a stepwise description of the project and a description of platform and software used.

Millions of preselected progeny have been born since the development of The Beltsville Sperm Sexing Technology 1986. The method is based on flow cytometry and sorting is done on the basis of DNA difference of the X- and Y-chromosomes. Preselection of progeny provides an opportunity to obtain genetic gain and increased production as well as increased animal welfare and decreased environmental impact. However, the method is associated with low fertility, high costs and uncertainty whether the sorting process contributes to DNA damage and thereby results in genetically impaired progeny. Today, sex sorted sperm is only commercially available in the bovine industry, due to the fact that bull sperm is more suitable for selection than sperm from other species.

Open Handset Alliance har utvecklat ett eget operativsystem för främst mobiltelefoner, kallat Android, som är bygger på Linuxkärnan. Android är framtaget som ett gratisalternativ till de dyra konkurrerande operativsystemen.Examensarbetets syfte är att studera utvecklingsmiljön till Android och se vilka kunskaper som krävs för att effektivt kunna utveckla applikationer. I detta ingår även att identifiera vilka möjliga problem som kan uppstå under utveckling, samt dokumentera vilka utvecklingsverktyg som finns tillgängliga. Målet har varit att utreda hur applikationer utvecklas effektivt, det innebär att ta reda på svaren till vad som krävs av utvecklare för att kunna utveckla applikationer, vilka utvecklingsverktyg som finns, samt vilka problem som kan identifieras under utveckling.

The last couple of years the use of Internet has changed in the way that the web pages can be affected of the person that uses them. Because of this dynamic Internet technology has emerged that makes it possible for a web page to receive information from a web browser. This information can then be used to affect the appearance of the page. PHP and ASP are two dynamic Internet technologies. They are integrated in HTML and are executed on the web server.

My objective for this project was to create a short but thrilling 2D-animation intended as promotion for an online comic book. The purpose of the project was to learn more about animation and graphics, to further my artistic skills and to learn how to work in Adobe After Effects. I also wanted to learn more about scheduling, project methods and how to handle stress. During the ten weeks of the project I have created the story, the storyboard, the character design, the backgrounds and the animation. The voice over was recorded with the help of a fellow student who also made the music and the sound effects.
