Politiska bloggar i det amerikanska presidentvalet : Bloggande svenska riksdagsledamöter om resultatet i 2008 års amerikanska presidentval
The 2008 U.S. Presidential Elections were in many ways special, where the USA got its first president of Afro-American origin, Barack Obama. The elections will also be historical since the great use of social medias - as the community Facebook, the video sharing site YouTube and web based diaries, blogs - broke through during the campaigns. This study's purpose was to examine how a few members of the Swedish parliament described the result of the Presidential Elections in their blogs. The main question - how the election results were described in the blogs - was divided into three themes, created on the basis of the blog's content.
Vad gör du just nu? : En kritisk diskursanalys av Försvarsmaktens reklamkampanjer
Denna uppsats syfte är att med hjälp av diskursanalys med inriktning på bildanalys och samspelet mellan text och bild, jämföra kampanjerna ?Det där löser sig säkert? med dem på temat ?Vad håller du på med?? för att utröna om deras syfte, innehåll och diskurs förändrats över tiden och i så fall på vilket sätt. Detta syfte tar sig uttryck i följande huvudfrågor:Vilken diskurs använder sig Försvarsmaktens reklamkampanjer av?Hur skiljer sig diskursen i reklamkampanjerna från varandra?När det gäller fråga ett ovan visar uppsatsen att det som de båda kampanjerna diskursmässigt har gemensamt är att den övergripande säkerhetspolitiska diskurs som förmedlas genom bilderna, är den nya säkerhetspolitiska doktrin som gör gällande att det moderna samhällets primära hot inte är det totala kriget utan en komplex hotmiljö bestående av allt ifrån instabila länder i när och fjärran, terrorism och naturkatastrofer. Ingen av kampanjerna förmedlar dock visuellt på ett mer utförligt sätt vad Försvarsmakten egentligen sysslar med.När det gäller fråga två ovan påvisar uppsatsen följande skillnader mellan de båda kampanjerna.
Utanförskapandet - en diskursanalys av begreppet utanförskap
In this essay my aim is to examine how the term utanförskap is constructed and defined as a social problem in the public arena of the Swedish Parliament. The term utanförskap was widely used in the election-campaign prior to the Swedish Parliament election in the year 2006. The term, mainly articulated by the Right-wing Alliance, was used to describe indi-viduals and groups that were depicted as being outside the Swedish society. In the political debate, work and benefit dependency were constructed as binary opposites, with the latter describing the individuals in utanförskap. Translated to English the term utanförskap would be something like ?the state of being outside? or ?outsidership?.
Förpackningsdesign i en varumärkesstärkande process : En fallstudie av varumärket Coca-Cola
Nowadays, packaging design is seen as a competitive tool and its importance for corporations is becoming increasingly apparent. The rivalry within homogeneous markets puts high demands on differentiation and the ability to create something more than the product itself. With this fundamental question, the soft drink industry has been examined and a case study of the brand Coca-Cola has been performed. The aim is to investigate how packaging design is used as a tool for strengthening a brand and to explore which additional values this contributes. In addition, the study observes the most important factors in the development of packaging design.A theoretical work of reference, consisting primarily of theories related to branding, design development and visual identity, has been developed to support the study.
Hövdingen och hans äreminne : En idéhistorisk studie av Brantingmonumentet på Norra Bantorget
This subject of interest in this paper is the ideas expressed and formulated in the making andinauguration of the Branting-monument at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm. The initiative for a monument honoring the late Social Democratic leader Hjalmar Brantingwas taken at the Swedish Social Democratic Party Congress in 1928. In 1935 the party board decided to give the task of designing the monument to the much renowned artist Carl Eldh. A national fund-raising campaign for the monument was also initiated. In1942 the model of the monument was completed, but because of the war it was stored in a shelter.
Kulturarv som en turistisk resurs : En studie av Astrid Lindgrens värld
När jag fick klartecken att läsa c-kursen i aug 2008 började jag genast att fundera på ett ämne som jag skulle vilja skriva om. Jag har ett stort intresse av kulturarv och hur de används kommersiellt och började fundera på vilka kulturarv som finns i närområdet som jag skulle vilja undersöka närmare. Samtidigt arbetade jag fortfarande kvar på mitt sommarjobb nere på Astrid Lindgrens värld i Vimmerby och när jag sa till en kollega att jag skulle skriva en c-uppsats under hösten föreslog hon skämtsamt att jag skulle skriva om parken. Denna idé var inte helt dum tyckte jag och började då fundera på hur jag skulle kunna kombinera mitt intresse med en undersökning av parken. Under sommaren har jag blivit varse om hur hårt parken arbetar för att vara en park i Astrids anda och jag har förstått att det ligger mycket arbete och många förkastade idéer bakom parkens utseende.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att ge en fördjupad förståelse för ett helhetstänkande när det gäller utveckling av moderna idrottsarenor. Härvid används aspekterna kommun/samhälle, publik, evenemang och näringsliv för att belysa nybyggnationer av moderna fotbollsarenor. Studien bygger primärt på erfarenheter från tidigare arenabyggen i norra Europa och baserar sig på fem strategisk utvalda arenor.

Vilka skillnader och likheter finns när det gäller utveckling av moderna fotbollsarenor?
Vad har kommun/samhälle, publik, näringsliv och evenemang för betydelse för förståelsen av denna utveckling?
Vilka kunskaper och erfarenheter kan vara viktiga vid framtida arenabygge?
Metod: Uppsatsen är en jämförande fallstudie av fem strategisk utvalda arenor i norra Europa.
Rabies, dogs and education : A cross-sectional study on the knowledge, attitude and practice in school children in Tamil Nadu
Although known and feared for thousands of years, rabies remains a real and present threat to thousands of people, especially in low- and middle income countries. In India, rabies is an endemic disease, causing human deaths every year. The primary mode of transmission is through the bite of an infected dog. Fighting the disease in the dog population through vaccinations remains the most efficient way to eradicate the disease. The knowledge of rabies
in India is unsatisfactory, as a lot of people lack awareness about the severity of the disease and the importance of washing the bitten area and seeking medical attention for post exposure prophylaxis when bitten by a dog.

This paper is about the conflict between the Middle East and the Western world after the Danish newspapers? cartoon publications of the prophet Muhammed in October 2005. The conflict resulted in massive reactions in the Middle East and the Danish-Swedish dairy company Arla Foods, was boycotted during six months in 2006. The aim of this study is to describe how the biggest Swedish daily newspaper,Dagens Nyheter and three Saudiarabic newspapers Al-Hayat, Al-Watan and Shark Al-Awsat described "the Other" during the crisis in the year of 2006. Another aim is to describe how Arla Foods managed the consumer boycott.

Today´s roofing of dwelling houses is a very time consuming procedure, which includes a lot of different steps on the construction site. Not only does it cost a lot of money, but often do problems with rot and mold occur in the attics of houses today. The use of prefabricated modules has seen a great breakthrough in the field of construction of dwelling houses; at least when it comes to foundations and walls, where this type of approach makes the construction process way more efficient. What no one previous has succeeded to develop is a corresponding system for roofs that meets the demands of a dwelling house. Accordingly the goal of PlusTak has been to come up with a proper module system for roofing of dwelling houses, where the roofing is completed to meet the demands of the Scandinavian market. During the project a lot of effort has been put into customer contacts and the usability of the product, as well in the manufacturing process as on the construction site. This development has gone hand in hand with several practical tests and tryouts.
Arbetslöshetens (o)kända ansikten : Ett arbetsmarknadsprojekt i Rågsved i en tid av avancerad marginalitet och territoriell stigmatisering
This essay intervenes in the politics of urban segregation in Stockholm. The main aim of the essay is to analyze and describe how advanced marginality and territorial stigmatization are expressed in the lived experiences of four unemployed youths, that have participated in a labor market training program located in the ?social vulnerable? area Rågsved. With a theoretical framework based in Henri Lefebvre?s production of social space the empirical findings are interpreted in regard to how the youths produce social space in dialectical interplay with urban politics, advanced marginality, territorial stigmatization, and their local neighborhood.
Media advertising in Europe - The issue of standardisation from both the business and legal perspective
It is clear that media advertising is one of the crucial marketing tools for companies in order to promote their products and services. As we are moving towards more and more economic integration, both on a regional and global scale, the question about standardisation of media advertising has become increasingly important and is nowadays subject to discussion in most international companies. This thesis deals with the issue of standardisation in a region where the process of political, legal and especially economic integration is taking its course, but where cultural and linguistic diversity is still a remaining fact: Europe. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the potential gains from a standardised advertising approach but also to identify its limitations. Especially on a market place like Europe, with its diverse cultural and linguistic background, a fully standardised approach might be difficult to implement.
What to expect ? A qualitative study of roles in Retail Marketing
Thesis purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate the expectations of roles between supplier sales representatives and retailer store personnel in relation to in-store campaigns, this in order to enhance effectiveness of these functions creating an increase in consumer response. Methodology: The researchers believe that social phenomenon and their meanings are continually being accomplished by social actors, hence a study of individuals? expectations must have a point of departure in these people?s social reality. Store personnel and supplier sales representatives are to a certain degree affected by the structural power relationships within the organizational network, thus the researchers combine an interpretative and radical structuralist paradigm. Theoretical perspective: The researchers investigate expectations of roles through examining interaction between parties involved.
Julia och eliterna : En studie av hur näthatsdebatten utvecklades till en medial lavin
English title: Julia and the elite. A study of how the Internet hatred developed into a media avalanche.Introduction: During February 2013 Swedish media flooded with news of online hate directed towards women after an episode of Uppdrag Granskning on SVT (2013). Female media profiles were given the opportunity to tell the entire Swedish population about the hate and threats they had been exposed to online. In this thesis we want to investigate what topics end up on the media´s agenda, how a piece of news is developed and framed.Questions: How does a piece of news considered highly newsworthy develop from when it first appears in the media until it gradually disappears? How and why did Internet hatred end up on the media´s agenda? How does the media framed the Internet hatred?Theory: To be able to answer the questions formulated in this thesis, the following theories have been used: Agenda-Setting theory, framing theory, news valuation and media logic. Method: Quantitative content analysis of news broadcasts and debate shows from TV, radio and newspapers.
Utemiljön ur ett ekosystemtjänstperspektiv : undersökning och gestaltning med fokus på en bostadsgård i stadsdelen Norra Fäladen, Lund
Målet med detta arbete är att undersöka vad begreppet
ekosystemtjänster kan innebära i den urbana utemiljön
och hur ett ekosystemtjänstperspektiv kan användas för
att beskriva och gestalta grönytor i staden. Bakgrunden är
det växande intresset för hållbar stadsplanering och hur
landskapsarkitektur kan bidra till detta. Frågeställningarna
som har varit utgångspunkt för arbetet är:
? Vad innebär begreppet ekosystemtjänster i mindre,
urbana sammanhang?
? Vilken roll skulle ett ekosystemtjänstperspektiv kunna
ha vid gestaltning av utemiljöer i mindre skala?
Arbetets metoder består av studier av litteratur, studiebesök i Malmö, Lund och Helsingborg samt av ett gestaltningsförslag för en bostadsgård i området Rådhusrätten i Lund.
Begreppet ekosystemtjänster fick sitt genomslag med
Millennium Ecosystem Assessments rapporter i början av 2000-talet och betyder de tjänster och fördelar som
människor får från naturen. Det inkluderar exempelvis
odling av mat, rening av vatten och luft, rekreation, hälsa
och symboliska värden.
