Stump wood was used between 1850 and 1950 for production of tar and as firewood. In the 1950s the use decreased because of the introduction of the cheap fossil oil. In the 1970s stump wood became an interesting issue again as a raw material for the pulp industry. Stump lifting has today become a possible source for bioenergy. The objectives with this study were to investigate the productivity of stump lifting and stump extraction, and to analyse the economy.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att fördjupa förståelse för invandrarkvinnors upplevelser av integrationen i Sverige. Undersökningen syftar på enbart invandrarkvinnor som kommer till Sverige genom äktenskapsmigration. Detta är en kvalitativ undersökning som har genomförts med hjälp av nio intervjuer med invandrarkvinnor som har gift sig med svenskfödda män och flyttat till Sverige. Vi har valt att använda Grundad teori och har kommit fram till olika faser som innefattar faktorer som kvinnorna upplever vara viktiga för integrationen. Genom att analysera de olika faserna kom vi fram till vår kärnkategori som är arbete.

The following study aims to investigate the environmental conditions of the harbor of Sk?rhamn, a small fishing community on the west coast of Sweden. The interest to do so rose as a newly built apartment residence failed to connect the sewage pipes of 18 apartments, causing the untreated sewage running into the sea. The parameters accounted for are the C/N ratio, total organic carbon (TOC) as well as total nitrogen present (TN) and ?13C in the top ten centimeters of a sediment core retrieved in the Sk?rhamn harbour.

Volunteering involves performing tasks without receiving any compensation for it. Interest in this idealistic commitment to non-profit organizations is growing and the primary reasons for this is to help other people, pursue their interests and contribute to the organization.The purpose of the study is to examine what it is that motivates individuals to commit to non-profit organizations. This study will only examine aid organizations. In order to answer the question four different theories have been used and these are the most fundamental theories in this field. These theories are Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Hertzberg's two-factor theory, Self-Determination Theory and The Gift.

In December 2004 an earthquake coursed waves that hit Thailand. Over 5000 people died, and Sweden was the tourist country that has been effected the worst. I uppsatsen behandlas Ulrica Carolina Widströms (1764-1841) författarskap, insatt i ett idéhistoriskt och litteraturhistoriskt sammanhang. Widström skrev framför allt rokokoinspirerade pastorala dikter som lovprisar kärleken och ungdomen. I analysen läggs särskid tonvikt på dikten "Korgen" som ingår i samlingen Erotiska sånger (1799). "Korgen" skildrar en förförelse besläktad med våldtäkt. Den läses som en problematisering av den idyllvärld som författarskapet i stort bygger upp.

Studiens syfte är att få en inblick i hur det kan vara att leva som ensamstående pensionerad äldre man på landsbygden i Jämtlands län. Alla fyra männen i denna studie har varit gift men är nu skild eller änkling. Två av dem är yngre-äldre (ca. 65 år) och de andra äldre-äldre (ca. 80 år).

This essay deals with a picture-stone that was found in a pre Christian grave during the archaeological excavations of the Viking Age harbour and trading place at Fröjel parish, Gotland, in 1999. The stone is at least 100 years older then the male grave in which it was found. The picture-stone can be dated to  late 8th century or early 9th century, and the grave is probably from the late 10th century. One of the main questions in this essay is why the people of that time re-used an older picture-stone in a younger burial. I believe that the stone was reused as a grave-gift.

This paper interprets the myth of the hymen through the archetypal theory of Carl Gustav Jung. Today it has been proven that there exists no hymen that breaks at a woman?s first intercourse. Nonetheless, the myth of the hymen lives on ? creating enormous consequences for girls and women.

The following is an examination of work and gender and how they interlocked in a Swedishbrewery between 1923 and 1939. Leaning on labor process theory and Marxist feminist theory,this paper examines what constituted women?s work in the brewery industry in this era, how women?s work changed with rationalization and economic recess, and how the all-femaleunion locale reacted to these changes. The events portrayed are related to earlier research ongender on the labor process, to the history of the Swedish labor movement in large, and to theevolution of the so-called ?Swedish model? with its relatively low level of conflicts on thelabor market.

Children's language development is highly connected to the success of every school. Especially when it comes to the children learning reading and writing skills, regardless of what method the schools use in order to achieve this. An early intervention can facilitate the learning of reading comprehension. Reading aloud and playing with the language learning is the greatest gift we can give our children and students. Children learn how to use a book by turning the pages and see how the words and texts are structured.

Tidigare forskning visar att utmanande beteende ?r relativt vanligt hos barn med intellektuell funktionsneds?ttning. Utmanande beteenden kan ta olika for-mer d?r ett av de vanligaste ?r aggression, s? som att sl? eller sparka mot omgivningen.

Syftet med arbetet är att förstå varför människor i dagens samhälle väljer att gifta sig. Vad är skälen för giftermål när man i dagens Sverige kan bo i ett samboförhållande utan att vara gift. Är kärleken viktigast eller finns det andra aspekter som påverkar människor när de väljer att ingå ett äktenskap? Huvudtanken med arbetet är att förstå människor som ingår äktenskap och varför de gör det, samtidigt vill vi förstå de som bor i ett samboförhållande och varför de inte gifter sig. För att förstå detta har vi valt att utgå från kvalitativ metod.
