Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa på vilka taktiska och operativa fördelar AUV-systemkan ge, främst inom sjöminröjning, samt visa på hur AUV-system kan integreras i ettnätverksbaserat försvar.Hot- och kravbilden förändras med tiden. Sjöminan har utvecklats från kontakt- ochavståndsminor till självsökande sjöminor med stora räckvidder. Personalens säkerhetvärderas högt. Nätverksbaserat försvar är under införande och ställer krav på godkontroll över operationsområdet. Obemannade och autonom undervattensfarkoster(AUV) kan möta dessa krav.

This thesis deals with the leisure-time reading of fourteen men with two different occupations, teachers of technology and directors of companies. The main reasons for writing the thesis are that very little is written about mens reading habits and also statistics that tell that mens reading decline regardless of educational level. The purpose has been to compare the reading and relations to literature between the two groups of men and to find out if any differences have to do with factors such as social background or age. The questions we have asked our collected data has been what, how and why the men read. We have tried not to investigate the work-related reading although we are aware of the difficulty in separating this from the leisure-time reading.

Det här arbetet handlar om vad elever vill lära sig mer om i ett naturvetenskapligt och teknologiskt innehåll i grundskolans tidigare år. Min studie är en del utav ROSE-projektet (The Relevance of Science Education) och mina resultat visar att eleverna i hög utsträckning är intresserade utav naturvetenskap och teknik, precis som 15-åringar i tidigare ROSE-undersökningar visat sig vara. Även om många intressen mellan åldersgrupperna visade sig vara gemensamma så är eleverna i grundskolans tidigare år mer intresserade av rena faktakunskaper än av större samhälleliga frågor. Dessa resultat indikerar att tidigare diskussioner som handlar om elevers sjunkande intresse för naturvetenskap och teknik är för allmänna i betydelsen att de inte tar tillräcklig hänsyn till innehåll, ålder och riktar för lite uppmärksamhet till eleverna i dessa sammanhang. Resultaten har implikationer för dem som är ansvariga för styrdokument, läromedel, fortbildning och lärarutbildning.

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. This thesis aims to point out the critical factors behind successful business development processes for high technology companies. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Internal and external actors that are important for business development have been identified and interviewed in order to understand how ideas are developed and executed.

This study discusses the European Union´s influence regarding the Cyprus Conflict since 1998, when the EU began the official membership negotioations with Cyprus. The first aim of the study is to investigate in what way the EU has tried to practice influence concerning the Greek- and Turk Cypriots, but also Turkey, since Turkey is seen as a relevant party in the conflict. The second aim of the study is to examine what effects the EU´s influence has led to for the parties involved. The theoretical approach in the study is the theory Normative power, the theory stresses that Europe and the EU practices non-military power, and is able to do so because of the fact that the EU is based on internationally acknowledged desirable norms, as democracy and human rights and liberties. SAMMANFATTNINGEn utlandstjänstgöring är ingen enskild angelägenhet för den försvarsanställde utan påverkar hela familjen. Omstruktureringen från allmän värnplikt inom Försvarsmakten till en yrkesarmé med obligatorisk utlands- tjänstgöring har lett till ökat antal berörda anhöriga. Det är väsentligt att stödet till de anhöriga och speciellt till barnen kommer i fokus.Studien riktade sig till de anhöriga och deras uppfattningar kring utlandstjänsten och anhörigstödet. Deltagarna bestod främst av partners eller föräldrar till försvarsanställda i utlandstjänstgöring. De flesta anhöriga som deltog i studien ansåg att anhörigstödet var tillräckligt bra och att deras uppfattning av utlands-tjänstgöringen i stort överensstämde med deras förväntningar. Utlandstjänstens påverkan på barnen kan kopplas samman med hur föräldrarna klarar av att hantera situationen.

The aim of this master's thesis is to study how the design of the music library space affects how it is used and its role as an arena for culture. This is done in form of a case study of Library 10 in Helsinki, a public library branch that specializes in music and information technology. The backdrop to the study is the changing context for cultural activity in the information society and the role of public libraries as public space and meeting place. By analyzing the distribution of space in the library, the distribution of functions and artefacts and the spatial use of the room, I interpret the ways in which this distributional logic produces a unique place for music and culture. I discuss the music library design in a space and place perspective, utilizing theoretical tools from cultural geography and the space theories of Henri Lefebvre.

It has in turn evolved into human-computer interaction. The purpose of this media scientific study is to contribute to a better understanding about how blind people?s empowerment and participation may affect their role in the digital society.Earlier international studies in this area have shown that blind people not only need more knowledge then the seeing population about the computer, but also about the technology behind their tools for using Internet. The results from these studies have also shown that Internet increases the blind people?s independents and that those who use Internet feel more involved in the society.A qualitative method was chosen to study the three most common categories from the earlier studies: knowledge of technology, empowerment and participation. Are there differences in the results compared to our study in Sweden 2014?Interviews with eight blind, experienced computer users have shown that knowledge of technology is essential for their use of Internet and that the Internet increases their empowerment and their participation.

Shelters and Nuclear weaponsA discourse analysis of the Swedish defense and civil defense debate during the Cold warSweden during the Cold War set into motion one of the world?slargest civil defense policies at the time, second only to neutral Switzerland. The governments expenditure was far greater per capita than both that of USA and Soviet Union and included massive evacuation plans for Stockholm and other large cities in Sweden, with the hopeful expectation to bring down the amount of people in each of them to 15000 in case of a foreign hostile nuclear attack. The policies included construction of shelters with room for 2,5 million of about 7 million citizens in total at the time along with gasmasks for the whole population. Not only this, Sweden was considered one of the biggest military powers of that time in relation to its size and population.

This text answers the questions how do we define what a campus is, how the concept of the campus came to exist and how it is used today, and how the Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) campus can be designed according to site conditions and the conclusions drawn from case studies at Chalmers University of Technology and Karlstad University. The purpose of the case studies is to gain insight into their campuses advantages and disadvantages. This finally results in an interpretation of how the Blekinge Institute of Technology campus can be planned. A campus is the area of land on which a college or university and its surrounding buildings resides on. Campus as a concept meant a field at first, it later evolved at American universities due to their design of college campuses.

Aeroseum is an aviation museum located in an old military underground hangar. The ventilation system in the hangar is designed for the military purpose of the hangar. This design includes a solution with air flowing through the space between the construction of the hangar and the rock surface. The solution is intended to avoid a buildup of inflammable gases. This design leads too high humidity levels in the hangar.
