Eight out of ten Swedes has once in a while pain in the back, neck or shoulders. This often depends on inactivity and monotonous work under a long time. Pain affects us mentally since the body and mind affect each other, which can lead to an evil circle of pain and depression. A typical imbalance in an office worker with the arms in front of the body while working is that the muscles on the front of the trunk will be shortened, since they never work with their full length and become strong because of the constant use. On the other hand, the muscles on the back of the trunk will be weakened and elongated, since they are working in an extended and static position.

Syfte Syftet är att ta reda på vilka olika faktorer människor som flyttat till Uddevalla kommun under 2009 anser ha varit avgörande för deras val av bostadsort utifrån demografisk, socioekonomisk och geografisk indelning.Frågeställningar Vilka grupper flyttar till Uddevalla kommun?Vilka bakomliggande faktorer som avgjort valet att flytta till Uddevalla kommun?Hur/om de avgörande faktorerna skiljer sig mellan olika grupper?Finns det några faktorer som är unika eller framträdande med Uddevalla kommun jämfört med Sverige i stort?Vad kan Uddevalla kommun göra för att stimulera inflyttningen?Metod Kvantitativ studie om migranter till Uddevalla kommun under 2009 och deras preferenser.Resultat Uddevallas inflyttare följer det nationella mönstret och utgörs främst av unga personer och personer med svag ställning på arbetsmarknaden. Vad som utmärker Uddevalla jämfört med landet i stort är att många skattar naturfaktorer högt, såsom att Uddevalla är havsnära, att det finns vacker natur och möjligheten till friluftsliv. Uddevallas migranter lägger också mindre vikt vid arbets- och studierelaterade faktorer, sociala faktorer och ekonomiska faktorer än vad nationella studier har visat. Tittar man på skillnaderna mellan de olika demografiska och socioekonomiska grupperna så är det framför allt skillnader i service- och infrastrukturfaktorer som förändras beroende på de behov som främst de demografiska och socioekonomiska egenskaperna ger upphov till.I fråga om hur Uddevalla bör marknadsföra sig så är det första steget att se till att samhällsservicen och infrastrukturen fyller behoven hos medborgarna.

The question formulation for this work has been "is an ice-hockey audience influenced by music during time-outs in a game?". The method was to observe one period with Färjestads BK and Mora IK, but a recording was also made, together with a conversation with the arena DJ. From the recording, the audience reactions were graded from a given scale. The grades were compilated to a diagram that shows the audience reactions in relation to the time, from the first face-off to the final whistle.

Efter att ha läst Turismprogrammet, med kulturgeografisk inriktning, på Södertörns Högskola föddes intresset för huruvida den turistiska litteraturen anknyter till ämnet geografi. Den allmänna uppfattningen av litteraturen på Turismprogrammet är att den är bristfällig och inte av önskad bredd. En eventuell geografisk anknytning är svår att hitta. Frågan är om det är ?dålig? litteratur på turismprogrammet eller om annan litteratur har samma brister.

This essay is an attempt in analysing the establishment of the first Early Middle Ages castles in Scania. There are two types of castles in Scania during the eleventh century, keeps andringworks. This castle was built by three fixed elements of power: the crown, the church and the aristocracy. The result of the survey shows that A majority of the castles during theeleventh century in Scania where initiated by the church.The results also show two building phases of castles under the period. The first building phase begins in middle of the eleventh century and the second building phase begins in theperiod 1180- 1200.

Studies on wild boars have shown that piglets at 10 to 12 days of age can be introduced to pigs outside the litter without fighting. In today's production systems, the litters are kept in separate pens until weaning. At that point, the litter is divided and the piglets are placed together with piglets from other litters. This usually leads to aggressions among the piglets and may cause stress. This literature review aims to find out how piglets perceive other pigs in their surroundings.

Det är många faktorer som bestämmer val av tak i olika situationer idag. Den största frågan som uppstår handlar oftast om kostnaden. I intervjuer och studier har en sammanställning gjorts som beskriver alternativen grönt tak eller traditionella svarta tak på det nya badhuset i Umeå ur de tre hållbarhetsdimensionerna.Det extensiva gröna taket visar sig vara mer bullerdämpande, förbättrar luftkvaliteten i tätbefolkade och trånga städer. Det gröna taket har även en förmåga att ta upp ca 50 % av den årliga nederbörden. Något som gör det gröna taket mer hållbart ur ett miljömässigt perspektiv.

The aim and purpose of the following study is twofold. The first part aims at clarifying different models of migration policy available within research of political science. The second part of the study applies the identified models onto an analysis of the official report ?Integrationens svarta bok? and the suggestions the reports presents. The findings of the study are multiple.

This thesis concerns the Gotlandic hill-forts (sw. fornborg) situated on a cliff or in an elevated position and which traditionally have been referred to as cliff-forts (sw. klintborg/höjdborg). The study derives from the notion that these monuments, diverse in size and shape, by archaeologists have been viewed and treated as a homogeneous category of ancient remains. The author?s key aim is to challenge this perception by identifying various subcategories from the 28 cliff-forts on the island.Ever since the archaeological discipline initiated the study of cliff-forts in the late 1800s and more or less to present day, the interpretations have been almost solely dominated by explanations of the military and defendable nature of them.

The purpose of this Bachelor Thesis is to investigate whether the introduction of IFRS, and in particular IAS 40 regarding fair value accounting of investment property, has lead to increased financial risk for Swedish real estate companies. Financial risk is measured using several financial risk ratios during the period 2000-2009, effectively covering the period before and after the introduction in 2005. The financial risk is found to actually have decreased significantly in comparison with the control group. The relative decrease supports the notion of a factor unique to the real estate companies at least partially driving the change, possibly IAS 40. However, this change is, due to the statistic method employed, only an indication of the direction of change, and consequently interpretations of the magnitude of change cannot be made.

The aim of this study is to describe how reviews of literature in Bonniers litterära magasin and Expressen changed during the period 1964-2004. The investigation is based on 20 reviews of novels and short stories, which are analysed with a method described in Hellspong and Ledin (1997) and inspired by Halliday. The theoretical frame of the investigation is founded on critical discourse analysis (Fairclough 1992 & 2001) and Habermas´social theory of the public sphere.The investigation shows, among other things, that the reviews became shorter and easier to read in both paper during the period. The investigation also shows that the genre´s style, composition and contents are relatively stable, and that current ideologies in society have a tendency to be reflected in the reviewers´evaluation of the books. To generalize, the reviews thus developed from a poetic genre in 1964, to become political in the 1970s, academic in the 1980s, feminist in the 1990s and finally an intermedial genre in 2004..

This essay will focus on the period 1840-1870, where the main focus will be the american civil war, and what the immigrants wrote back to their relatives in Sweden. This study will also focus on the integration of Swedish immigrants.My main question are what did the swedes write back to Sweden during the war? And how did it differ from the period before and after the war?But also can a war assimilate a immigrant faster than it would be done without the war?The conclusion that has been made is that the war did help the swedish immigrants to integrate much faster than usually.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to analyse and interpret artist Hans Hedberg?s monumental, ceramic reliefs in Sweden and France. Hedberg is internationally famous for his ceramic fruits and eggs in different glaces and formats. A mostly unknown side of his artistic production is that he produced about 50 ceramic reliefs during the 1950s and up to the 1970s in public buildings. Hedberg was one of very few foreign artists in France, who, during a long period of time, produced monumental, public reliefs for the French state.

The production of cut flowers has diminished in Sweden and the remaining growers produce mainly in greenhouses. This situation could be changed if hardy, garden perennials suitable for Swedish conditions were to be used as cut flowers. A grower with suitable equipment as plastic tunnels or houses would be able to provide florists with an attractive assortment of perennials for cutting, during an extended selling period compared with the natural flowering period for these cultivars. This assortment would be based upon imported perennials already used by florists, but would also contain new products. To investigate the demand for locally field grown perennials as cut flowers, an inquiry took place.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate if there is a difference in maximal aerobic power (VO2-max) between walking with poles and without poles. Thirty-four healthy women between the ages of 22 and 60 years participated. They were randomised into two groups, seventeen individuals walked with poles and seventeen walked without poles. Both groups walked four kilometres three times a week, for eight weeks. Each completed a submaximal cycle ergometertest before and after the exercise period.
