SummaryAt the start of my employment at the Swedish National social insurance office I was a bit confused because there were two categories which I defined as belonging to the same category (working handicapped) but it wasn?t so. The persons I where going to meet was defined as having incapacity to work and therefore, they were defined as not standing to the labour markets conversion. They were defined as being to sick for being at the labour market. The aim of this work is to shed light on what grounds a decision concerning a person which will be categorized as incapable of working and looking at the categorized person?s status.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att bidra till utvecklandet av självskattningsskalor för föräldrar till barn med ätstörningar. Skalor som ska kunna användas diagnostiskt men också vid utvärdering av behandling. Två instrument utprovades; AESED som mäter i vilken grad föräldrar anpassar sig till ätstörningssymtomen och hur påverkan på familjesystemet ser ut med utgångspunkt i Schmidt och Treasures modell om vidmakthållande av symtom, samt FQ som mäter expressed emotion. Detta kompletterades med HAD som mäter ångest och depression. Studien genomfördes vid SCÄ ? Stockholms Centrum för Ätstörningar och data jämfördes med motsvarande material från Västerbotten.

Root rot is a big hurter and a huge economic problem for the Swedish and European forestry. The severest hurter is Heterobasidion annosum (Fr.) Bref and it occurs as two different species in Sweden. Commonly referred to as the P-type (Heterobasidion annosum s.s. (Fr.) Bref.) and the S-type (Heterobasidion parviporum Niemelä & Korhonen). Therefore a lot of research has been carried out in this topic to find a solution and reduce this problem, one alternative that have shown to be profitable is stump treatment in thinnings.

Genom att minimera eller eliminera aktiviteter som inte skapar något värde för kunden kan flöden bli mer effektiva och kräva mindre resurser.Ett företag som arbetar med att sammankoppla Lean-principer med sin logistiska verksamhet är Wibax AB; ett företag inom kemikalieindustrin. Företaget har under de senaste åren befunnit sig i en expansionsfas och ett problem är att verksamhetens processer inte har utvecklats i tillräckligt hög takt för att på lång sikt kunna möta den ökade efterfrågan.Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur Lean-principer kan tillämpas för att förbättra fallföretagets arbetsprocesser inom lagerstyrning och materialhantering. Då likheter mellan områdena Lean Production och logistik kunde ses i början av studie var syftet även att undersöka vilka teoretiska kopplingar som kunde hittas mellan områdena.För ett antal av företagets produkter uppfattas arbetsflödet som ineffektivt och kartläggningen av nuvarande arbetsflöde visade att de största problemen är att informationsöverföring sker manuellt mellan ett flertal parallella system, att miniminivåer i lager inte är baserade på statistiska underlag samt att det råder oreda både vad gäller material- och informationshantering.Resultatet av studien visade att många problem var sammanlänkade och att flödet skulle effektiviseras av relativt få åtgärder.

The modern veterinarian in horse practice is often consulted by horse owners concerning riding problems. These problems are more complex and show other characteristics than traditional lameness. For the diagnostic process and to give adequate advice the veterinarians need an understanding of riding terminology and problems related to riding. It is also of high importance that riders, trainers and veterinarians increase the knowledge of equine biomechanics and how these are influenced by the rider. Collection is an important concept in the riding terminology.

Running water-pathways have played an important roll in Sweden and frequently been manipulated. One profound change was made during the period of logging when streams were cleared from obstacles as big boulders, sharp bends and side-streams. Dams and different constructions gave control of the stream water and the streams became channel-like with a homogen structure. This interference gave problems for many fish populations and resulted in a shortage of feeding habitat, over-wintering habitat, spawning habitat, unnatural flow regimes, sedimentation, unnatural temperature fluctuations. Many of these historical changes of the watersheds are now subjects for restoration, ie., bring back the streams to what we believed it was before the change. However, what once existed in terms of complexity is now gone and difficult toreplace.

SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] penetrated China in spring of 2003, created havoc in the social society, exposed weaknesses within the political system and pushed the nation towards a crisis of confidence. At the same time the crisis revitalised the Party's position, brought people from different social stratum together and had a beneficial impact on the populace's knowledge on health related issues.What makes the SARS crisis in China interesting for further and deeper investigation is the method it chose to respond to its national crisis. They plan of response was indeed a retrogression back to "older" times, using methods and propaganda very much like those used during Mao Zedong and later Deng Xiaoping. The first step of response was denial and cover up of the real situation, which quickly turned to unprecedented transparency, as the magnitude of SARS became known. The Party and the government were quick to proclaim themselves as the bearer of the key knowledge and information on how to best fight the disease, this in sharp contrast to the political trend of more co-operation between the private and public sector and political transparency.

Med utgångspunkt i vårt intresse för barnlitteratur beslöt vi att genomföra en kvalitativ fallstudie med syftet att öka förståelsen av elevernas litteraturval till deras individuella läsning. Undersökningen genomfördes med intervjuer och observationer i en årskurs 2-3 på en landsbygdsskola. Studien visar att eleverna i första hand väljer att läsa bokserier till den individuella läsningen i skolan och på fritiden samt att de får tips av kompisarna, läraren, bibliotekarien, familjemedlemmar samt media. De flesta är målmedvetna i sina val, andra vet inte vilken bok de vill läsa. Bokens innehåll ska vara spännande, roligt och läskigt och några väljer böcker på grund av att de vill lära sig något.

How the renovation of the vast Swedish existing building stock with renovation needs will be performed is considered as decisive in order to achieve the target set by the Swedish government of reducing the energy use by 20 percent by 2020. Consequently, the challenge of the building sector consists in reducing the energy use in the existing building stock but at the same time ensuring that the indoor environmental quality is improved and the cultural values are maintained.So far, there have been a few renovation projects which strongly have reduced the energy use and at the same time have taken into account the environmental aspects and the cultural values. The main reasons are that there have been few incentives and a lack of routines in order to steer efficiently a ?sustainable renovation?.The participants in a Nordic project on sustainable renovation thought that it would be a strong advantage to link the concept of sustainable renovation to the Miljöbyggnad certification system. Indeed it is trusted by the Swedish building and construction sectors and can provide sustainability targets in order to steer renovation processes.The objective of the master thesis is to show how the Miljöbyggnad certification system could be integrated in practice in the renovation process of Riksbyggen, an organization which administers housing associations (Bostadsrättsföreningar) and build houses.

I företag och organisationer är det vanligt att riskanalyser genomförs som ett led i arbetet med att hantera de risker och hot som verksamheten kan möta. En viktig del i en riskanalys är det första steget som går ut på att identifiera risker och hot, så kallad riskidentifiering. En brasiliansk studie pekar på att kunskapen kring riskidentiferingstekniker i brasilianska företag generellt sett är låg. Eftersom det förefaller finnas ingen eller mycket lite forskning i ämnet applicerat på svenska företag valde jag att undersöka hur stor kunskap som svenska tillverkningsföretag med huvudkontor i Göteborgsregionen har kring riskidentiferingstekniker. Tanken är dels att resultatet av undersökningen dels ska kunna utvecklas och användas som underlag i andra vetenskapliga studier, men också att det ska kunna vara möjligt att användas till en mer praktisk tillämpning.Undersökningen genomfördes med en kvantitativ enkätundersökning där jag så långt som möjligt försökte utforma frågor och svarsalternativ utifrån de regler och standarder som finns inom metodiklitteraturen.

This thesis was commissioned by Tekniska verken, Energy Division with the overall aim to investigate the concept of environmental debt and what it means for a business. Furthermore, a sustainable risk and responsibility investigation shall be carried out on the concerned areas. Finally, the priority areas shall be highlighted and proposed actions presented. The Swedish Environmental debt concept was presented in 1992 by Arne Jarnelöv. Environmental debt is defined as restoration costs for environmental damage. In the early days the concept did not take into account who was responsible, but the environmental debts was regarded as a humanity debt to future generations.

The national spatial planning guidelines and the subsequent legal regulation in the Natural Resources Act and the Environmental Code has been a part of the Swedish planning system for almost 40 years. In the recent years, critics have claimed that the regulations are outdated and does not work the way it was intended. This paper examines closer why it is perceived that the regulations does not work, with a focus on how the national interests are managed in the municipal planning. Why is the national interests not applied in the municipal planning as intended? Is the error in the system or in the implementation of it? The aim of this essay is to study the gap between theory and practice by studying how the land management provisions in the Environmental Code is applied in five selected municipalities.

According to the Swedish strategy for forest protection, additionally 40 000 ha productive forestland will be protected in the county of Västerbotten, between 1999 and 2010. A national project was carried out to distinguish the proportion of forest with a high biological value, in all counties. The project resulted in demarcation of small landscape areas or small ?biological value regions? (bvr), with higher concentrations of forests with conservation values and red listed species than the surroundings. In Västerbotten, 26 such bvr?s were identified and the Counties Agency and Forest Agency in Västerbotten developed a regional strategy for forest conservation to standardize the forest protection process.

Title: Belting in teaching. A study of views and teaching-procedure.The purpose of this study is to map how the singing teachers at a Swedish college of music describe and implement the vocal technique 'belting' in their curriculum. This study is based on watching and interviewing six different teachers. The theoretical part deals with voice physiology and four different theories surrounding belting. The results show that the descriptions of belting vary between teachers and experts alike.
