Sparse matrices are often used in numerical algorithms that solve linear equation systems. Many methods for storing sparse matrices have been proposed and implemented during the years. These methods focus primarily on minimizing the total memory consumption and the time that it takes to store a sparse matrix. This report researches the available storage methods for sparse unstructured matrices. The formats that are researched and implemented are COO, CRS and ELL.

This essay revolves around two questions: what is the nature of politics, and what kind of political order ensures a high rate of citizen participation? By using Cantal Mouffes theory on the political this essay shows how different understandings of the nature of politics can lead to diverging views on what forms democracy should take. Two such understandings are identified; one that sees the nature of politics as characterized by conflict and power, one that sees it as a space for cooperation in search for the common good. I trace these different ideas about the political in the parliamentary debate concerning Swedish constitutional reform. I conclude that the left-of-centre parties hold a view of the political closer to the conflict-perspective, while the green party together with the liberals/conservatives lean closer to the opposite view..

The purpose of this study is to look at the line extensions of the Swedish dairy company Skånemejerier. We have chosen to focus on how trends in ecological products and Functional Food influence the line extensions. The competition in the food sector have made it harder for companies to be seen in the market area and the companies have to make their brands more visible. That is one of the reasons why companies work with line extensions. The study is based on a qualitative approach because we wanted to come closer to our subject in order to establish a greater understanding for the case itself.

Det är allt mer vanligt idag att organisationer arbetar innovativt i olika avseenden och omorganiserar så att medarbetare får flytta fysiskt, det innebär även en mental förändring. Medarbetarna befinner sig i olika dimensioner och processer, som kan upplevas positiva eller negativa efter en omorganisation. I studien låg fokus på hur kommunikation fungerar efter en omorganisation och hur den upplevs av medarbetarna. Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet med föreliggande studie är att beskriva hur tränings- och tävlingsbelastning inom elitsimning varierar under en säsong samt få en uppfattning om intensivt tävlande leder till akut överträning.Följande frågor skall besvaras:1) Hur varierar belastning, fysiologiska egenskaper, emotionellt tillstånd och sinnesstämning under en 10-veckors träningscykel?2) Hur förändras prestation, fysiologiska egenskaper, emotionellt tillstånd och sinnesstämning under en 9-dagars mikrocykel med 6 tävlingsdagar?3) Finns det någon tendens till akut överträning under en 9-dagars mikrocykel med 6 tävlingsdagar?MetodEn manlig sprintsimmare (MS) och en kvinnlig medeldistanssimmare (KM) fick skatta upplevd tränings- och tävlingbelastning, dagsform, hälsostatus, genomföra POMS-test och Emotionell återhämtning (EmRecQ), mjölksyratest samt registrering av hjärtfrekvensvariabilitet (HRV) och ortostatisk hjärtfrekvens (OHF) under en 10-veckorsperiod.ResultatFör KM varierar belastningen under säsongen. Psykosocial belastning är låg till tävlingsperioden börjar då ökar den samtidigt som formen upplevs bättre. Flera känslor på EmRecQ ökar under säsongen. POMS visar som högst i slutet av den hårda träningsperioden där energiindex (EI) är som lägst.

The society of consumption exposes us to a lot of information, where advertisement constitutes an extensive part. Due to its expanding, advertisement receives a natural and obvious space in our everyday life. This study aims to investigate how social and cultural values can be mediated in advertisement. The focus has been put to ideas related to health and fitness in the advertisement of power drinks. The thesis takes social constructionism as a starting point, and combines image- and critical discourse analysis in purpose to analyze the pictures.Sociology of consumption, construction of identity, lifestyle and everyday life all constitute an essential part of my analysis.

På IKEA går produktionsflödet för en produktbild i dagsläget från konstruktionsritning till fotografering via tillverkning och montering. En produkt som är färdig för tillverkning definieras av sin mekaniska konstruktion och sina ytegenskaper. Ledtiden och kostnaden för bildproduktionen skulle kunna minskas betydligt om produkten kunde avbildas redan i detta stadium, utan att finnas tillverkad. För detta ändamål såg IKEA en möjlighet i att introducera ett nytt produktionsflöde där avancerad datorgrafik, grafisk teknik och bildbehandling omvandlar konstruktionsritningen till produktbild. Detta examensarbete omfattar brandskydd och dimensionering för de olikakonstruktionsmaterialen limträ, stål och betong. Där målet är att utveckla ett underlagför nyutbildade ingenjörer och konsulter. Layouten på arbetet ger en enkel överblicköver informationen kring de olika materialen och tar upp de viktigaste stegen manska ta hänsyn till vid dimensionering.Arbetet inleds med en allmän översikt på hur brandskyddet behövs i byggnader föratt uppfylla de lagar och regler som ställs. There exist several known methods for calculation of radio coverage for ground-based systems. As far as we know there are no equivalent methods for the case of flying platforms when the altitudes and speeds are significantly different to those of ground-based systems. This thesis describes the theoretical concepts behind calculations of radio coverage for flying platforms. An investigation is made to sort out what is important and possible to employ in a model for simulations. A method is described and implemented in a program for evaluation of flying radio systems.

Our study aimed at gaining insight of co-workers experiences of different factors that affects the verbal communication and leads to dialogue and misunderstanding between co-workers and their managers. The empirical material was gained from semi-structured interviews with co-workers at various departments within the same organization. We used a hermeneutic interpretive approach and our data was analyzed concerning different factors affecting communication. The result has been interpreted using the theories of deliberative conversations and dialogue competence. We have also used Illeris theory of learning. The result shows a number of factors that affects communication between co-workers and managers.

The aim of this essay is to see how the IOGT, local politicians and the local newspaper acted in the city of Hedemora in Sweden in connection with the referendum held in 1922 whether or not to ban the use of alcoholic beverages. To accomplish this I have examined protocols from local IOGT-groups, the town council and the local newspaper Södra Dalarnes tidning. I find that the local IOGT not only worked with the issue of alcohol but served as an institution that deepened democracy and education in the local community through discussions, study circles and applying pressure on local politicians. The locally elected bodies in turn were generally in favour of the good work the IOGT did, although not always overwhelmingly so. Many of the local politicians that handled the issues of alcohol were themselves active members in organisations promoting absolutism.

This report is an attempt to clarify how religious and non-religious views-of-life [livsåskådningar] are created through the collaboration and opposition of religious and scientific elements/ideas. This with the hope of reaching a fruitful result related to the solution of world-view related conflicts, such as the ones existing between science and religion, on an individual and societal level.This is accomplished with the help of two assertions: (1) Mankind has a need to explain its existence and surroundings. (2) Religion and science has their origins in the same seed and aim to serve the same purpose, or function. Together these two assertions lay the theoretical foundations of this report which implies that all humans have an innate need of sustaining a stable world-view.The result of this report is that a final solution to world-view related conflicts are beyond reach as our mental and physical nature limits us. However there are strategies for minimizing world-view related conflicts effect on society..

The new technology brings new opportunities for the language. The language, which is used when chatting or messaging, is full of linguistic devices, which facilitates writing and saves time and space. The purpose of my investigation is to find out if the chat- and- messaging- language is affecting the students' way of writing in school.To find out about this I have examined 79 essays written by students in grade 9 during the national test 2006. I have also to found out if the occurrence of these features differed between boys and girls. In addition, I have let the same students who have written the essays answer questions regarding their chatting- and messaging- habits.The conclusions I have attained through my investigation shows that 58 % of the students are using features which are typical in chat and messaging language.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att belysa de psykiska aspekterna av att drabbas av hypertyreos och hur det påverkar individens dagliga liv. Studien vänder sig till sjuksköterskor som kan använda studien i sitt arbete för att underlätta omvårdnaden kring patienter med hypertyreos, vilket på så sätt ger kunskap åt blivande kollegor. Hypertyreos är en sjukdom som blir alltmer vanlig i Sverige och som kan ge stora inverkningar på individens dagliga liv om den inte upptäcks och behandlas i tid. Metoden som valts är en litteraturstudie där tio vetenskapliga artiklar blivit systematiskt och kritiskt granskade utifrån Polit & Hunglers kriterier för vetenskap. Resultatet visar att ett flertal psykiska symtom påverkar som kan ge stora inverkningar på individens dagliga liv, vilket leder till reducerad generell hälsa och minskad vitalitet och känslomässighet, därmed upplever patienter begränsningar i det dagliga livet..
