SAMMANFATTNING Amningen kan ibland vara svår att komma igång med. En del mammor får det att fungera utmärkt medan andra behöver mera stöd. Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) och ?tio steg till lyckad amning? var tänkt att uppmuntra amningen på BB genom åtgärder som utbildning av barnmorskorna i att stödja mammorna. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva mammors känslor inför amning och deras upplevelse av stöd från personal och pappa under BB-tiden samt att jämföra med en grupp mammor från 1993.

Background: Intimate relationship violence is physical, psychological or sexual violence that a person is exposed to in a relationship. There is a strong correlation between intimate relationship violence and mental health problems. A psychiatric ward at a hospital in Sweden, is working with a new routine. According to this routine every new patient should be asked about intmate relationship violence as a part of the admission interview.Objective: The objective of this study was to study how the healthcare personnel is working with the routine, and also to study response rate, interventions and how the work has developed over time.Method: A quantitative study with a retrospective and descriptive studydesign. One hundred and two medical records were reviewed.

Mental träning har visat sig påverka det allmänna välbefinnandet hos poliser positivt. Grundläggande mental träning som består av olika avslappnings- och meditationsövningar är en effektiv metod när det gäller att förebygga och motverka stress samt återhämta sig. En del av den mentala träningen handlar om att visualisera, vilket innebär att man föreställer sig en inre bild eller situation av något som är stärkande för sig själv. Det kan vara att se sig själv lyckas i en situation man har framför sig. Med vår studie avser vi att undersöka hur visualiseringen tillämpas bland poliser på ordningsavdelningar.

Background:Patients with mental disabilities are more prone to somatic illnesses than the general public. Unhealthier lifestyles and side effects of medication might be causes of conditions that lead to diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and premature death. According to the Social Board patients with mental disabilities receive poorer treatment than patients with only somatic diagnosis.Aim:The aim of the study was to describe nurses' experiences to identify, assess and manage somatic symptoms and problems within the psychiatric care.Method:The study is based on interviews with 12 nurses working in psychiatric outpatient and inpatient care. A qualitative content analysis was chosen.Result:The nurses performed nursing through talking, blood sampling and measuring for example blood pressure. They followed up side effects of medication.

The emergency medical care in Sweden has been under persistent debate, due to factors such as long waiting hours, inefficient patient flow, and understaffed departments. In an effort to meet the critique and with a willingness to improve the problems, an increasing amount of emergency clinics are adopting theories and models within Lean. Positive outcomes are evident, there has been some criticism directed towards Lean. Among these is the argument that in order for Lean to be successful it needs to be used within standardized and foreseeable processes, and that it therefore only is applicable to those kind of processes found within industrial production. This prompted the question of whether Lean was a suitable strategy within emergency medical care, considering the large variation of patients and non-foreseeable processes that in fact share little resemblance to that of industrial production.

BACKGROUND: The isolation facility is an important ward in veterinary hospitals. This is where infectious patients are treated in order to reduce the risk for cross-contamination between the infectious patients and other patients and humans in the hospital. But it can only function in a safe manner as long as adequate precautions for infection control are adhered to. This has shown to be a problem in many isolation facilities in veterinary hospitals in Sweden. AIM: The aim of this paper was to examine which factors that can affect the quality of the infection control in the isolation facility. The aim is also to stress the importance of adequate infection control practices. METHOD: Two interviews were conducted with staff from two veterinary hospitals.

The flexibility of the labour market is considered as an instrument for increasing economic growth.Therefore has the use of flexible employment, also called atypical employment, increased. The atypical employment is characterized by insecurity in comparison with a traditional permanent full- time employment. One of the most common atypical employments is the manning employment, which is insecure whether it is permanent or not. The insecurity in the industry is based on insecure income, unpredictable working hours and poor psychosocial work environment.In order to encourage a continued increase of flexibility in the labour market while the need for security for staffing employees would be satisfied was Directive 2008:104 adopted. Swedish healthcare is in continuous need of cost savings and efficiency improvements in order to meet the increased demand for care. The theories of lean, developed from the industry, are applied more frequently on healthcare systems to increase effectiveness and reduce waiting times in patient processes. However, some processes seem to be more successful in their lean implementation than others. In this thesis, factors influencing flow efficiency in lean healthcare are examined. Through interviews with the top executive board at Capio St Göran's hospital, data is collected in order to analyze reasons for success.

Hur och när arbetar tränaren med idrottspsykologiska färdigheter för sin egen förberedelse och för att bli mer effektiv i sin tränarroll i samband med match?Metod:Sex manliga tränare i åldern 36-57 år med erfarenhet som ansvarig tränare på elitnivå deltog i undersökningen. Semistrukturerad intervju har använts som metod för datainsamling. Frågor och följdfrågor i intervjun var inriktade mot de fem idrottspsykologiska färdigheterna i syftet, mot tre scenarion (före, under och efter match) och mot mental press.Resultat:Alla tränare är överens om att det finns en mental press på elittränare i fotboll i samband med match. Alla sex tränare arbetar med de fem idrottspsykologiska färdigheterna, men det är bara i 13 fall av 30 som tränaren svarar att han arbetar medvetet med idrottspsykologiska färdigheter.

Syfte:Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda patienter i livets slutskede på sjukhusavdelningar.Metod:Beskrivande litteraturstudie som baserades på tretton vetenskapliga artiklar. Data inhämtades från databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed.Resultat:Att vårda patienter i livets slut på sjukhusavdelningar är en komplex situation. Sjuksköterskorna beskrev både upplevelser av tillfredsställelse och närhet samtidigt som de kunde känna sig otillräckliga. Relationer till patienter och närstående var betydelsefulla men en distansering var nödvändig för att behålla en professionell yrkesidentitet. Faktorer som påverkade upplevelserna var rädsla för den egna döden, tidigare erfarenheter, tidsbrist och den rumsliga miljön på avdelningarna.

AbstractThis essay is an investigation where I try to gain an increased knowledge of the three assistants? (in the mentally disability profession) opinion about their education and their first years in their profession. I have also tried to answer the questions whether the course mentally disability/functional gives the students a good start in their profession, if there are any flaws or if something is missing in the course or if they can think of any improvements to make the course better.This investigation is performed as a qualitative interview study where three women were interviewed about their education and their first years as assistants? (in the mentally disability profession). All the interviewed women have been working in the care activity for two or three years since they graduated.

SYFTE: Jag har i mitt yrke erfarit att många elever upplever skolan som stressande. Studier stöder denna iakttagelse och visar att för många tonåringar är skolan den i särklass största stressfaktorn. Vidare ökar stressrelaterade sjukdomar bland vuxna kraftigt. Detta gav mig en ide att inom skolans ram försöka agera preventivt och inspirerad av coachning och kognitiv beteendeterapi satte jag samman en kurs. Här undersökte jag huruvida träning i mental kompetens; kunskap om kroppens känslosystem, språk för känslor, stresshantering och problemlösningsstrategier, skulle kunna ge elever större känsla av beredskap för att hantera livet i ett modern komplext samhälle och därmed en högre livskvalitet.

Introduction Every tenth patient in Sweden is affected by nosocomial infections. Among these, urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most frequently occurring within the hospital environment. Nosocomial infections lead to increasing costs for care, more suffering among the patients, increasing use of antibiotics, and longer treatment spells. The Academic hospital have engaged all wards in the so called VRISS-project (?nosocomial infections must be stopped?) in order to reduce the number of nosocomial infections.Aim In connection to the VRISS-project new routines for removal of uretrahl catheters are introduced at ward 70E2 at the Academic hospital.
