Investigations concerning adolescent mental health shows a negative development. Many pre-vious studies have focused on young women's mental health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate young men's (17-19 years) experience of their mental health. Qualitative interviews were used as a method. The participants were six young men who all go to high school in a major municipality in the county of GĂ€vleborg.

Syftet med undersökningen var att identifiera det upplevda behovet och nyttan av mental trÀning under tÀvlingssammanhang, för golf- och tennisgymnasieelever. En webbaserad enkÀt skickades till 258 elever och 154 svar inkom. Resultaten visade att eleverna som inte hade mental trÀning pÄ utbildningen önskade i stor omfattning att det skulle ingÄ i deras utbildning och de ansÄg att de skulle ha nytta av det under tÀvling för att förbÀttra sina prestationer eller resultat. Detsamma gÀllde för eleverna som hade mental trÀning pÄ sin utbildning. FÀrdigheterna koncentration, uppmÀrksamhet, kontroll av kÀnsloreaktioner, kontroll av laddning, upphetsning och vaksamhet, samt sÀtta upp mÄl skattades högre de gÄngerna eleverna tÀvlade och lyckades Àn de gÄngerna dÄ de misslyckades.

The aim of this study was to examine mental illness among adolescents in the age group 13- 18 in the municipality of Lund. We studied the topic based on counselors experiences. There have been several reports in media concerning an increase of mental illness among youth. Therefore we considered this as an interesting issue to examine. This study consists of seven qualitative interviews and one telephone interview with counselors.

The market for eco-labelled products has developed rapidly from the early nineties in Sweden. There is a full variety of environmentally friendly products on the market today, and perhaps organic food is the most popular alternative. Eco-clothes have not reached the same amount of success as other eco-labelled products on the Swedish market. In this essay I will discuss and analyze which factors that have influenced green consumers attitude and behavior towards eco clothing. Four interviews with green consumers in Karlstad have been done in order to explore consumers attitude and behavior.

This bachelor thesis aimed to explore, in a qualitative manner, the relationship and the interaction between the hospital welfare officer and the rest of the nursing staff. We chose this subject because we wanted to explain the phenomena of being a medical outsider in the nursing team. Our questions at issue were the following three: How does the hospital welfare officer define his occupational sphere and how do the rest of the nursing staff define it, according to the welfare officer himself? Is the welfare officer's relation to his own professional role and to the rest of the nursing staff affected by where his office is placed - secluded from or within the clinic? How does the welfare officer himself value his profession in relation to the rest of the nursing crew? To answer these questions we interviewed eight welfare officers, placed in two different hospitals. We used three different theories to explain the primary information.

The aim of this quantitative study is to describe the prevalence of mental health problems within the group of children and adolescents who receive support from two in home care units within the social services of Rinkeby-Kista and Södermalm stadsdelsförvaltning in Stockholm. Another purpose is to examine whether socioeconomic background and/or gender are associated with the prevalence of poor mental health, or mental health problems of a specific kind, in the studied population. Mental health is measured with the SDQ, a behavioral screening questionnaire that is widely used in Sweden and internationally. The study is based on data collected by the two units, which routinely screen children and adolescents with the SDQ. The main results of this study indicate that mental health problems are common in the studied population.

Background:Persons living with a mental illness often have to put up with a financial disadvantage. Their ability to work is often limited and because of that they have to rely on the welfare reform to get an income. This income is often low compared to other citizens which by itself is something strongly associated with mental illness. Purpose: The purpose in this study was to describe how people living with a mental illness experience that their economic situation has an impact on their daily life. Method: This study is a literature review containing nine scientific articles from previous research.

Syftet med denna undersökning var dels att undersöka vilken uppfattning nÄgra idrottslÀrare har om mental trÀning, dels att undersöka vilket syfte de har med undervisningen samt hur de sÀger sig jobba i praktiken. UtifrÄn underökningens syfte intervjuades sex gymnasielÀrare frÄn tre olika skolor med hjÀlp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. I arbetet sökte jag svar pÄ vilka skillnader respektive likheter det fanns i hur de olika idrottslÀrarna arbetar med mental trÀning i skolan samt pÄ vilket sÀtt undervisning och syfte med undervisning kring mental trÀning anpassats beroende pÄ vilken elevgrupp som undervisas.Studien visade att lÀrarna hade varierande utsagor om sÄvÀl uppfattningar, syfte, innehÄll och anpassning av mental trÀning. DÄ ingen konsensus rÄder kring Àmnet finns det en tydlig skillnad mellan vad som erbjuds i undervisningen och kursplanens innehÄll. Vidare kan man se att innehÄllet lÀrarna sÀger sig arbeta med skiljer sig frÄn varandra men att tidigare riktlinjer för vad som kan förknippas med begreppet mental trÀning utgör det vanligaste undervisningsunderlaget varför en slutsats dras om att implementeringen av Gy11 Ànnu inte kommit sÄ lÄngt..

The overall aim with this essay was to study how counsellors at upper secondary school work with mental illness among youths and compare this with what research and theories advocate. This because there has been a rise in the number of people, especially in the age-group 16-24 years, suffering from different degrees of mental illnesses. The school can in some aspect contribute to cause mental illness but it also consists of good opportunities to offer counselling and work to prevent mental illness among the students. This study consists of five qualitative interviews and two short telephone interviews with school counsellors. During the interviews they expressed their thoughts concerning factors that causes mental illness among youths and gave an account of how they work with prevention, counselling and collaboration.

AimThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between physical strain and recovery in dancers at The Ballet Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. Research questions used to guide the study were: How great is the dancers experience of physical strain? Do any of the dancers show mental or physical signs of overtraining syndrome?MethodPhysical strain was studied by letting the dancers fill out a booklet catloging their intensity during practice. Utilizing a questionnaire, data was gathered regarding preceding year. To give more nuance to the data gathered, The Profile of Mood States was used to detect possible mood disturbance.

The main question of this study is about how reorganizations influence on the mental social working environment for chiefs in municipal care. We want to find out how chiefs experience their mental social working environment in a reorganization. The method we used was a qualitative method. We interviewed eight chiefs in municipal care. Introduction: During the last decades, the development of the communication society has contributed to new patterns of communications among people, but also increased the use of computers and mobile devices. It has become more common to communicate through social medias, which has led to the new phenomena cyberbullying. At the same time, studies have shown an increase in mental health problems among adolescents during the last 25 years. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to investigate and map the characteristics of cyberbullying and its relationship to mental health among adolescents. The aim was also to investigate adolescents own actions to stop cyberbullying.

The Swedish mental hospitals existed for about one hundred years, the period around 1880-1980. The research is intended to be from a local setting perspective to study the local approach used to meet requirements from FurunÀsets mental hospital principals 1960 - 1972, the effect this had on the care and treatment of mentally ill patients and how Swedish society's changing approach to mental health influenced the process. The results of the research showed that FurunÀset searched for ways to meet the principals' requirements which often went against the patients? personal best. FurunÀsets mental hospital strove to fulfill its institutional goals in them selves rather than giving patients the care and treatment they needed.
