The aim of this study was to isolate and identify Lactobacillus species indigenous to the gastrointestinal microflora of Swedish horses. These lactobacilli are to be used as probiotic candidates in research concerning antibiotic-associated diarrhoea in horses. Eight horses, age 6-10 years, were selected from a riding school for collection of faeces samples. Man Rogosa Sharp medium and gram staining were used for the selection of supposed lactobacilli. We could identify 33 isolates of supposed lactobacilli. With the use of API tests 22 of these 33 isolates could be identified.

This segregation implies that the shopping mall loses some of its attractiveness, which may result in a so-called Greyfield mall. Competition from new modern malls and a lack of investments are examples of factors that influence the development of Greyfiled malls.

In this thesis we present the procedures and outcomes of adopting two roles in a study: the role of a researcher and the role of a designer. The subject is crossmedia design. Crossmedia is a growing and changing trend for media producers of today its design is of great importance. The purpose is to create a concept from scratch that stands out from the crowd and engage people with the use of cross media as the approach. We also aim to investigate if a cross media designer can rely on previous research made within this subject or if the scene has changed.In order to test and to fully understand the process of the subject, we designed a crossmedia concept, based upon previous and related research.

Syftet med denna studie var att se effekten och upplevelsen av två månaders sjukgymnastik och informationsöverföring på distans via videokommunikation i realtid för en axelledsopererad patient och dennes slutenvårds- och öppenvårdssjukgymnast. Studien involverade en patient som opererades vid Sunderby sjukhus (SY). Efter utskrivningen genomfördes sjukgymnastik på distans med sjukgymnasten på sjukhuset och patienten i hemmet under två månaders tid. Den teknik som har använts är videokommunikation Integrated System Digital Network (ISDN), (TV-monitor, kamera, mikrofon, belysning och videobandspelare), som kopplats in via det digitala telefonnätverket dels i patientens hem dels på sjukhuset. Resultaten visade att patientens smärta reducerades och att axelrörlighet, funktionsförmåga, muskelstyrka, sömn, hälsorelaterad livskvalitet och tillfredsställelse förbättrades efter operationen och två månaders sjukgymnastik på distans via videokommunikation..

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur serietidningens narrativa likheter och olikheter med litteratur samt film och hur dessa kan användas för skapandet av ett ickelinjärt narrativ. Vi ville se var styrkan ligger i serietidningar för att försöka berätta en berättelse på ett nytt sätt som vi inte är vana vid att se. För att undersöka detta forskade vi kring vad ickelinjärt berättande är och vad som skiljer olika berättande medium från varandra. Vi applicerade sedan denna forskning i skapandet av en serietidning där vi testa de tekniker och metoder vi lärt oss om tidigare. Resultatet bygger på erfarenheterna som vi fått från skapandet av serietidningen och hur de olika narrativa likheterna samt olikheterna kunde appliceras på en serietidning.

This essay serves to illustrate the main practical differences between the popular medium-level programming language C++ (C Plus Plus), and the newer high-level language C# (C Sharp). This is a qualitative study where the purpose was to investigate what professionals experience to be the reason for an individual to become addicted to gambling and continues to gamble even though it leads to negative consequences. The purpose was also to investigate what the professionals experienced was of importance for an individual to recover from a gambling addiction. The study was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with knowledgeable individuals in the field. The main findings of the study were that the motivation for individuals with a gambling problem to continue gamble was that they saw gambling as the solution to their problems by winning back lost money. It was common that gambling was an escape from anxiety, guilt, shame, and other gambling-related problems such as financial liabilities.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the organizational buying behaviour in the purchase of travels abroad. We have conducted a case study of two companies, one medium sized and one larger. Our empirical studies have shown that the companies? buying process is divided into two types, the process of recruit a new travel supplier and the process of a straight rebuy of a regular travel service. In the recruiting process we found that the evaluation process of the purchase is an ongoing process that contradicts estab-lished theories.

By the development of infrastructure and public transport, jobs farther from home have become more accessible and this development has in turn increased commuting. Commuting travellers often pass over administrative boundaries which often serve as borders for public transport pricing. Also the market control prices. In order to suggest improvements for the logistics of STARKA, we felt that we had to analyze all the activities which were related to STARKA's logistic processes. Our primary analysis consisted of a rough but comprehensive description of different functions in the company, and the relationship between them. This was performed by following a typical order through the company to see which functions were affected by the order.Since we needed a more thorough view of the company, we decided to analyze the different products STARKA currently has on the market, focusing on economic data such as turn-over, profit, profit margin, deficiency cost and cost of warehousing. We also analyzed the company's choice of manufacturing processes, organization, warehousing processes, strengths and weaknesses.These analyses gave us a clear understanding of the company and its processes. STARKA is a small, function oriented company with a wide range of products.

Today it is more and more common for schools to provide teachers as well as students with laptops. Projects like this are worldwide called "One-to-one", one laptop per child. This paper conveys thoughts and ideas from a number of teachers in a medium-sized Swedish municipality in which all high school students and teachers, since a couple of years, have their own laptops. The aim of this paper is to clarify how the teachers? situation has been affected by the implementations of the laptops.

Den här rapporten avhandlar arbetet med att ta fram ett förslag som förlänger Volvos kärnvärden - kvalitet, säkerhet och miljöhänsyn, ut i Utvecklingsverkstaden på Volvo Construction Equipment, Hauler Loader Business Line, i Eskilstuna. Förslaget är utformat som ett koncept, som ska kunna överföras till andra verkstadsmiljöer på Volvo, om så önskas. Idéförslaget har baserats på en studie av den befintliga Utvecklingsversktaden. En modell av verkstaden i skala 1:50 utformades som presentationsmedium.Vid examensarbetets slut har förslaget presenterats och utvärderats av målgruppen. Den primära målgruppen har varit de anställda på avdelningen.Slutsatserna av arbetet är att en informationsbärande interiör kan formges för att representera ett företags kärnvärden och visa på innovation och framtidstänk.

The technological development contributes to an increase in advertising when it comes to media. Those who are working to develop advertising are constantly looking for new ways to reach consumers in unexplored contexts. Web TV is a relatively new technique that involves the distribution of television across the Internet. This study intend to investigate how users perceive advertising appearing on web TV, and contribute to the knowledge about how advertising adapt to new media. To reach the results of this study, we used quantitative data, collected in the form of web-surveys and qualitative data collected through semi-structured interviews.
