The number of elderly in Sweden is increasing due to improved living conditions and better medical care. It is important that society adapts to the increase and begins to work preventively to reduce the costs of the increase. An important aspect is the elderly accommodation, the cost of health care in specific accommodation is almost twice as high as those for ordinary housing. Therefore, it is important that we availability adapt dwelling to allow older people to live in ordinary housing for as long as they wish, instead of moving to assisted living before they need it. If we can fulfil the elder?s needs with home care instead, society can save a lot of money.In this report, three different forms of housing has undergone accessibility increases and been inventoried and analysed.

In this thesis, I enquire into how the USA ? our world?s wealthiest and most powerful nation ?  and its federal government has dealt with two of its most severe natural disasters: the drought and dust storms that plagued the Great Plains during the 1930?s, i.e. the Dust Bowl, and Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall in late August 2005. I attempt to identify differences and similarities and analyze if and, in that case, how the hegemonic politico-economic paradigm affected the federal management of these crises. This comparison is made relevant by the fact that two differing paradigms were at play during these events. In the thirties, President Franklin D. Roosevelt launched his ?New Deal?, a series of counter cyclical measures in line with the Keynesian school of economics, as a response to the overwhelming economic depression as well as the raging drought.

Problemområde: Vi kan idag se en tydlig tendens att många företag går samman i nära samarbete eller fusioneras. Det är också många av dessa fusioner som misslyckas. Ett vanligt argument för att förklara ett misslyckande är den integrationsproblematik som uppstår efter en fusion. Vi har intresserat oss för vad som döljer sig bakom denna problematik och hur man på ett bättre sätt ska kunna förstå integrationen mellan två kunskapsföretag. Syfte: Hur tar sig identitetsskapande hos medarbetarna i CBAH i uttryck vid integrationsprocessen med BAH? Metod: Vi har utgått från ett uttolkande paradigm där forskningsdesignen varit kvalitativ med ett aktörs- och förståelseinriktat synsätt.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera vilka faktorer som möjliggör och hindrar innovation bland sköterskor inom Lean Healthcare på Ortopeden 12, USiL. Metod: Studien genomförs i form av en kvalitativ fallstudie med iterativ ansats. Teoretiska perspektiv: Studien använder sig av vanligt förekommande teorier kopplade till innovation. Cultural Web används för att analysera avdelningens paradigm som jämförs med förutsättningarna för innovation. Teorier som tar upp olika aspekter som kan påverka innovation tas också upp.

Många kvinnor i vuxen ålder har hästar och ridning som fritidssysselsättning. Vissa kvinnor rider inte men har häst som sällskapsdjur. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa vad det innebär för vuxna kvinnors hälsa att ha hästar som sällskapsdjur, upplever kvinnorna att umgänget med hästar ger dem någon mer än bara fritidssysselsättning? Påverkar det deras välbefinnande och hälsa? Studien genomfördes som en intervjustudie där tio vuxna hästintresserade kvinnor intervjuades sommaren 2007. Analysen genomfördes med fenemenologisk ansats.

I denna rapport undersöks om styrmän på ett passagerarfartyg upplever att sjukvårdsutbildningen är tillräcklig för uppgiften om sjukvårdsansvarig. Jag valde att undersöka hur de uppfattar sjukvårdsutbildningen och sjukvårdsorganisationen ombord. Undersökningen utfördes med en kvalitativ metod där åtta styrmän blivit intervjuade för att få insikt i hur sjukvården fungerar på ett svenskt passagerarfartyg. Både andrestyrmän och överstyrmän deltog i undersökningen. Undersökningen pekar på att sjukvårdsutbildningen anses som tillräcklig men att tidsintervallen mellan certifikatet är för långt för att arbeta som sjukvårdsansvarig på ett passagerarfartyg. Styrmännen skulle vilja att en extra sjukvårdspraktik infördes mellan förnyelse av certifikatet för att skapa en bättre rutin vid sjukvårdsfall. Resultatet pekar på att det bästa vore om en läkare eller sjuksköterska anställdes för att ansvara för sjukvården ombord..

Dyslexia is a disability faced by an extensive amount of students in the current educational system. No medical alternatives have been found to improve the cognitive processing challenges presented with dyslexia. Therefore today?s educators are required to make instructional adjustments in their schooling, to ensure dyslexic students an academic future. The purpose of this qualitative study was, firstly, to discover how teachers work with dyslexic students, and secondly, to find out which practices are being used in this field.

Investigations concerning adolescent mental health shows a negative development. Many pre-vious studies have focused on young women's mental health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate young men's (17-19 years) experience of their mental health. Qualitative interviews were used as a method. The participants were six young men who all go to high school in a major municipality in the county of Gävleborg.

In this essay I examine the causal relationship between confidence in institutions and growth in Sweden 1989-2002. By examining the causal relationship between these two variables, valuable indicators of the causal relationship between trust and growth can be obtained. The institutions which are used in this essay are chosen according to the theory on institutions for public administration building trust and social capital. The chosen institutions are primary schooling, the police and medical service. A Granger causality model is used to measure the causal relation and the results from the tests show that there is no causal relationship between growth and confidence in institutions.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a special unit for patients who is in the need for emergency life-sustaining measures and every patient has complex medical- technical equipment. The experiences of a critical illness and the needs of critical care are experienced in different ways. The purpose of this study was to describe the experiences from patients in the ICU and how this experience has an influence on the patients. The method was a study of literature with a qualitative inception based on eight scientific articles and the analysis of content has been inspired by Graneheim and Lundman (2003). The result of the study is presented by four categories: to loose the ability to make themselves understood, to be forced to adjust to the environment of caring, to have the lack of connection with reality and to be in an intensive care environment, The results showed that patients in the ICU are affected by the attitude from the staff, the equipment around them as well as the sounds and lights in the environment there.

Vi har identifierat att forskningen gällande Facebook som intern kommunikationskanal är bristfällig. Vår studie syftar därför till att undersöka hur facebookgrupper används som kommunikationskanal internt i organisationer och vilka förutsättningar sociala funktioner i intranät skapar. Vi har i vår studie använt oss av kvalitativa metoder i form av en informantintervju, 10 samtalsintervjuer med ledare och medarbetare på två organisationer och en innehållsanalys av material från en sluten facebookgrupp. Våra resultat tyder på att det finns många aspekter att ta hänsyn till om internkommunikationen sker på Facebook, däribland säkerhetsaspekten av informationen som publiceras samt gränsdragningen mellan den privata rollen och yrkesrollen. Bland våra slutsatser finner vi att samtliga respondenter anser att möjligheterna för dialog och delaktighet för samtliga medlemmar i en organisation ökar när kommunikationen sker internt på Facebook.

Examensarbetet har genomförts i samarbete med innovationsföretaget ProboNova Medical Innovations AB. ProboNova jobbar främst med konceptframtagning av medicintekniska produkter. ProboNova tar sedan en Provisional Patent Application på konceptet och licenserar ut det till ett större företag. Genom att licensera ut koncepten slipper de kostnaderna för kliniska tester bland annat. Examensarbetet grundades i att ProboNova ville ha hjälp med att ta fram ett koncept på en ny sårhake. Projektet har genomsyrats av designprocessen där förstudie och idégenerering har varit de två dominerande delarna. I slutet av projektet presenterades ett koncept som uppfyllde alla krav och detta koncept togs det senare en Provisional Patent Application på. Tanken är att examensarbetet ska ge läsaren en bättre förståelse för hur man kan jobba med designprocessen och lära sig fördelarna med att välja en Provisional Patent Application istället för en Nonprovisional ansökan..

GEMS PET Systems develops and manufactures equipment for manufacturing of radioactive isotopes for PET which is a scanner used in medical applications. The systems includes an accelerator of cyclotron type and other support equipment. One system is shipped in two or three containers depending on order configuration.
