Wavecraft AB develops medical equipment for heating of organic synthesises. The heating is done with microwaves, which improves the process in both speed and accuracy compared to the more traditional methods where heating elements are used. This report discusses the developement of an automatic lid mechanism for one of Wavecraft's product prototypes. The company assumes that the final product will be integrated by customers into fully automated systems, and the upgrade from a manually to an automatically controlled lid is therefore an important step in the product's developement process.The first stage och the project was an idea generation process. The ideas generated here were organized into five different concepts of which the best one was selected through the use of a concept matrix.

?I denna studie studeras en organisation som förmedlar sina värderingar explicit.Många organisationer inom såväl privat som offentlig sektor väljer offentliggöra vilka värderingar som präglar organisationens arbete. Vad som sällan framgår är vad dessa värderingar innebär för den anställde. Det är mot denna bakgrund som studiens syfte arbetats fram. Studiens syfte är att undersöka vilken funktion organisationens explicita värderingar fyller i det vardagliga arbetet.I studien har sex intervjuer genomförts med anställda inom en organisation som gjort sina värderingar publika.

Under hösten 2013 genomförde vi en tidsstudie bland enhetschefer i en kommunal organisation. Resultatet visade bland annat att enhetscheferna spenderade mycket tid på att utföra administrativa arbetsuppgifter, som främst rörde personaladministration och dokumentation av sina verksamheter. Enhetscheferna ansåg själva att den här typen av arbetsuppgifter ökat eller förändrats markant de senaste åren. En konsekvens som framhölls var att det nära ledarskapet hamnade i skymundan. Forskning på enhetschefer samt administration styrker upplevelsen som framkom i tidsstudien. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka faktorer som kan påverka en enhetschefs administrativa arbetsuppgifter.

Biofuels are getting more important as EU plans to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. Because of that Sveaskog has chosen to invest in developing the handling process of logging residue. The company has a joined organisation for handling both round wood and logging residue. They are also working at integrating the forwarding of the logging residue with the rest of the harvesting team. Sveaskog is currently extracting 44 % of the available amount of logging residue.

The purpose is to illustrate the problems with the discretion of front-line bureaucrats in a democratic state. The theoretical approach is front-line bureaucracy-theory. Certain characteristics of the work of street-level bureaucrats makes it impossible to severly reduce discretion.

This study, entitled A constant balance ? Gender equality work in an organisation dominated by women and an organisation dominated by men focuses on attitudes towards gender equality issues in two organisations ? one that is dominated by women and one that is dominated by men. The study is based on the Doing gender theory, which primarily means that gender is something people do, it is constantly changing and it depends on the surrounding context.The organisations in the study are both working with gender equality issues, but the attitudes towards gender equality work are ambiguous. The primary gender equality issue in both organisations is to increase the number of employees of the non-dominant gender. The gender equality work in both organisations is formally supported but it is also being met with informal resistance.

There's a good adherence to the vaccination of children, about 98% of all two year olds are vaccinated. Despite this, there are cases of whooping cough and measles in Sweden. The purpose of the study was to describe what motivates parents to not vaccinate and reflections and attiudes about vaccinations. The study had a descriptive design with qualitative approach. Eight parents who had chosen not to follow the National Board of Health?s vaccination program or whom had decided to completely abandon, participated in the study.

The main objective of this study is to divide a number of colorectal cancer cases into subgroups based on their molecular features using cluster analysis. The data used is supplied by a research group at Pathology, the Department of Medical Biosciences, Umeå University, and consists, after some preparation, of 455 observations which is a larger data set than many similar studies. The molecular variables that the clustering is based on are CIMP (CpG Island Methylator Phenotype), MSI (Micro Satellite Instability), BRAF- and KRAS-mutations. These are categorical variables and consequently the clustering method used is PAM (Partitioning Around Medoids) which is particularly useful with data on diverse variable level. The final analysis results in four subgroups that are represented by different combinations of attributes on the aforementioned variables.

Previous reaserch has indicated that the almoners position in the somatic hospital hierarchy is poor. The purpose of this study was to investigate the position of the almoner in the hospital hierarch today, together with what this position is based upon.The questions at issue were:- Has the almoners position in the hospital hierarchy changed, or is it still poor?- In what way can the almoners position in the hospital hierarchy be explained?In order to get answers to our questions at issue, we interviewed totally 13 persons from the three chosen professional categories, i e four almoners, five doctors and four nurses. Two of the doctors worked at care centres and the other doctors worked in hospitals within the Region Skåne. The interview material was analysed from the concepts of Pierre Bourdieus; field and symbolic capital and by means of ideas from the closing theory.

Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka om det finns anledning att göra skillnad på organisationer i forskning om kunskapshantering. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är också att besvara om och i sådana fall hur och varför hanteringen av kunskap skiljer sig mellan organisationer i offentlig sektor och organisationer i privat sektor. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats, då en sådan lämpade sig bäst för att besvara uppsatsens syfte. Semistrukturerade intervjuer användes som datainsamlingsmetod. Intervjuerna genomfördes med en organisation från privat sektor och en organisation från offentlig sektor.

The objective of this thesis was to examine and analyse how various directors within old-age care, the resident-coordinator, nursing-staff, and the dementia-team apprehend the organisation of dementia nursing homes in the municipality. Our questions were the following:How important is it that the care-receivers are examined and diagnosed?Do the respondents experience difficulties with non-differentiated dementia nursing homes?Which are the advantages and disadvantages for care receivers/patients and nursing-staff if dementia care homes are differentiated according to the care-receivers dementia diagnosis and phase of illness?Are there alternative solutions to the way the municipality organise the residence for carereceivers today that might improve the situation for care-receivers/patients and nursing-staff?How does cooperation or the lack of it mint the conditions for care in dementia nursing homes?Which goals does the municipality have for the organisation of dementia care?Our approach was a qualitative method consisting of interviews to answer the objective of this thesis and our questions. Our findings are supported by a sociological analysis of organisations. Our findings show that there is a conflict of interest between the principle of permanent residence which imply that the care-receiver should not have to move against her or his will and between the use of differentiated dementia nursing homes.

Budgeteringens betydelse varierar från organisation till organisation och diskussioner kring budgeteringens syften och om företeelsen är under utveckling eller avveckling förekommer ? men i de flesta verksamheter utgör budgetar och den process som leder fram till dem en viktig del av den ekonomiska styrningen.Författarna till den föreliggande studien undersökte ett företags befintliga budgetsystem och dess funktioner och analyserade det innovativa klimatet på arbetsplatsen. Författarna undersökte även korrelationen mellan budgetsystemet och innovation; vilka innovationsfrämjande respektive innovationshämmande effekter systemet har samt om och i så fall hur budgetsystemet kan användas som ett verktyg för att stärka det innovativa klimatet på företaget.

Studiens syfte var att med fokus på frivilligt arbete inom social omsorg och med hjälp av BRIS telefonjouarers egna berättelser, få en bild om vad som motiverade människor som arbetade frivilligt. Studiens frågeställningar var följande: Vad motiverade människor till frivilligt arbete på BRIS? Varför valde man att arbeta på just BRIS och inte någon annan ideell organisation? Varför valde man att engagera sig ideellt och inte professionellt i någon organisation inom liknande område? Fanns det några gemensamma nämnare bland telefonjourarna på BRIS? Studien skapades med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod. Vi intervjuade sju telefonjourare och med stöd av deras berättelse, försökte vi få en bild om motivationen bakom deras frivilliga arbete på BRIS. Vidare analyserade vi den samlade empirin med hjälp av ?meningskoncentrering?.
