I dagsläget existerar det mer än 500 filmfestivaler runtom i världen, flera av dessa festivaler erbjuder sina besökare ett annorlunda koncept och inriktning av filmgenre(Turan, 2002). Enligt den research som jag har gjort finns det dock ingen filmfestival som bygger sitt koncept kring blandningen av livemusik och film. Syftet med denna studie har varit att planera och genomföra en filmfestival som skapar förutsättningar för en annorlunda filmupplevelse där film och livemusik blandas samman. Jag har studerat befintlig litteratur kring film och filmfestivaler för att sedan kunna använda mig av den kunskapen i planering och genomförandet av produktionen. Jag har också genomfört en intervju med Johan Karlsson som är festivalchef för Flimmer Filmfestival, där de har experimenterat med film och livemusik.

Syftet med arbetet är en fördjupning i och undersökning av filmens potential som didaktisk redskap i gymnasieskolans svenskundervisning och i vilken utsträckning mediet används. Multimodal teoribildning har studerats och en extensiv litteraturgenomgång genomförts för att identifiera möjliga användningsområden för film. Kvalitativa intervjuer med lärare som är verksamma i svenskämnet i gymnasieskolan idag har utförts. Det huvudsakliga resultatet från studien belyser att lärare är positivt inställda till att använda film i sin undervisning och gör det till viss del, men att det behövs mer vägledning och struktur runt både konsumtion och produktion av film för att lärarna ska kunna nyttja dess fulla multimodala och didaktiska potential i klassrummet..

Syftet med min analys är att se via en neoformalistisk stilanalys vilka grepp som filmen Sin City har hämtat från film noir. Jag ser även via intertextuella kopplingar vad Sin City har hämtat från serietidningen som filmen baseras på. Fokus i analysen ligger dock på fyra grepp som jag anser är de mest klassiska film noirgreppen; Ljussättning, Femme fatale, en mörk värld och protagonisten. Jag kommer bl.a. fram till att Sin Citys använder sig av klassiska film noirstilgrepp men drar dem till det extrema, kanske för att passa in på den serievärld som filmen är länkad till.

This report describes how to process audio signals in real time with a digital signalprocessor. The digital signal processor used in the thesis and described in the reportare the Blackfin processor ADSP-BF537 from Analog Devices.In the body of this report there is theory of the processor characteristics and thevarious programming languages used. All experiments that were made on theprocessor are described, these descriptions also help in understanding the annexeswhere the experiments will be presented. The body of this report also describes theprogram used to do experiments. Testing the CPU limit was done and the results arepresented to get a good view of what it can handle.

The aim of this paper is to investigate what part film music plays in the creation of stereo-types in the production of Swedish cinema, in the 1990s and early 2000s. This period of Swedish cinema was largely defined through the visualization of life in the smaller provinces of the country. The results were reached through the analyzing of four important works of this era, representing different provinces and genres. The examined movies have shown frequent use of extreme characters and a somewhat hostile environment in search of an interesting story. The music is used in ways of describing class differences amongst the inhabitants and to set the gen-eral mood of the concerned provinces: an agent often working in the unconscious of the viewer in order to affect the final results..

Jag har deltagit i skapandet av en 10 minuter lång kortfilm som heter Kylan. Det huvudsakliga arbetet har bestått av compositing, då man har kombinerat live footage-material med renderade 3d-element. Jag har använt mig av mina erfarenheter för att besvara min frågeställning: ?Hur kan man gå tillväga när man skapar en film med kombinerad live footage och renderade 3d-element??Vilka är de visuella byggstenarna när man matchar renderad 3d och live footage, och hur arbetar man med dessa i compositingprogram?Arbetet är utfört under min tid på Despot Film, som ett litet filmproduktionsföretag. Projektet, Kylan, är ett pilotprojekt.

Ett vattentanksystem och tillhörande styrelektronik utvecklades på Rubico AB i Luleå under sommaren 2011. Detta andra ordningens reglersystem består kortfattat av två vattentankar med individuella nivågivare, en pump och en störflödeskran. I dagsläget används utrustningen vid laborationer på Luleå tekniska universitet i en grundkurs i reglerteknik. Avläsning av nivågivare och styrning av pump i det existerande systemet sker analogt via ett externt DAC-kort kopplat mellan reglersystem och persondator. Regleringen sker på datorn med hjälp av mjukvaran RegSim.

This was a project of creating an animated music video for Anna vonHausswolffs song Something is missing. By working with animation Iwanted to broaden my expertise in visual communications. This hasbeen an exploratory work in how I could translate my illustrations tomoving images in the program Adobe Aftereffects. I have formed myown narrative by creating a storyboard. I worked with illustrated setdesign, created an atmosphere in the film and experimented with howto tell a subtle story.

The interest for food and cooking has probably never engaged the people of Sweden as much as it does today. Especially cookbooks are selling better than ever which has been a quite constant trend since the mid 90's. This study explores the connection between visual communication in Swedish cookbooks and the post-modern values which have influenced the market climate and the visual culture. I have used a theoretical framework as reference consisting of theories of semiotics, visual rhetoric, marketing communications and postmodernism. I have been studying six cookbooks, three from the late 00's and three from the early 90's, from the two separate angles of their graphic design and photographic material.

The aim of this research is to examine the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund (GIFFF, 1998?2011) as a part of the festival's overall operations, to provide answers to questions about if/how the Fund can be understood as an expression of the festival's fundamental values, and how the Fund can be recognized within the festival's strategic development. The GIFFF is also discussed in relation to contemporary academic studies that interpret Western film funds for the developing countries ? such as Hubert Bals Fund and Fond Sud Cinéma ? as an expression of Eurocentrism.The investigation is based on the contemporary film festival research, previous academic studies on Göteborg International Film Festival, the festival?s printed material ? such as programs and press releases ? as well as interviews with the former festival director Gunnar Bergdahl, who initiated the Fund, and festival editor Ulf Sigvardson, who ran the Fund during its final years of existence.The conclusions are: The Fund's objectives ? such as to support filmmakers and film schools in the developing countries, and also to screen their films at the festival ? can be seen as a broader interpretation of the vision that was determined by the festival founders, that the festival should be a platform for independent filmmaking and also help screen the films that otherwise would not reach the Swedish audience. Also, the Fund was a significant part of the festival's expansion strategies during the 1990s.

The aim is to examine how students with attention difficulties may demonstrate their mathematical understanding through visual representations. A curiosity about how students think about mathematics, national tests and Concepts cartoons has also permeated the study. With help of observations combined with interviews and actively work for a week, the study shows an idea of how visual representations can help students with concentration difficulties to stay focused on their tasks. I chose a selection of pupils to do some mathematical tasks from the national tests which they had not been able to solve before. Now in the form of Concepts cartoons, which I designed, they managed to solve the same mathematics data. In my study treatment and interaction reveals as key pillars for a successful educational work with the students with concentration difficulties. Thus, all pupils who previously have been unable to solve these assignments on the National test were now able to show their mathematical understanding supported by visual representations..

Det här examsarbetet handlar om hur det är att arbeta som modellerare på ett relativt stort VFX-företag i London. London har de flesta och de största filmeffektföretagen och postproduktionsföretagen i Europa. Här görs effekter för film, reklam och tv program. I den här rapporten beskriver jag hur det fungerar när man jobbar som 3D modellerare för filmer och vilka krav som ställs när modellerna förväntas vara fotorealistiska..

Film upptar en stor del av vår tillvaro och det blir allt viktigare att kunna hantera upplevelser som bildmedier förmedlar och att ha kunskap om hur dessa kan påverka oss. Skolan ansvarar för att varje elev efter avslutad grundskola skall besitta dessa kunskaper. Syftet med vårt examensarbete är att studera om elevers uppfattning av populärfilm och dess eventuella påverkan förändrades sedan de i skolan givits möjlighet att sätta in film i ett filmtekniskt, dramaturgiskt, kommersiellt och historiskt sammanhang. Metoden vi använde var att under fem veckor arbeta med ett filmprojekt, där vi tillsammans med två elevgrupper i grundskolans år 8 och 9 såg och pratade kring populärfilm. De datainsamlingsmetoder vi använde var intervjuer utifrån ett hermeneutiskt tankesätt, egna observationer och enkätundersökningar.

Med sin världstäckande genomslagskraft och sitt stereotypa porträtterande av verklighet, påverkar filmen världsåskådningen för människor runtom i världen. Ett brinnande ämne i amerikansk film har alltid varit Ryssland, på grund av de politiska motsättningarna och den historiska rivaliteten med USA. Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur Ryssland porträtteras i amerikanska filmer från perioden för presidenterna Dmitrij Medvedevs respektive Barack Obamas första mandatperiod. Frågeställningen för uppsatsen är: hur ser stereotypa föreställningar om Ryssland ut i amerikansk film 2008-2011? Trettiotal filmer med ryska motiv valdes ut för undersökningen och analyserades utifrån de visuella och sociala aspekterna.

In this paper I will examine the five Pussy Riot music videos that the group has published online on their official You Tube website. I will examine them through a ?gender lens? looking at their visual representations of gender vis-à-vis the hegemonic gender discourse in Russia. In addition I will examine their potential effects and if/how these visual representations can be understood as resistance.In my study I will take on a constructionist approach and the main theories being used to understand and analyze the Pussy Riot music videos are discourse- and representational theory including deconstruction, performativity and the social construction of gender as well as ?in-between? and deviant representations.
