The aim of this thesis is to investigate how students in higher education use talking books. This has been inves-tigated through qualitative interviews with nine students. The intention has been to find out how they use talk-ing books and why they have chosen to do it in the way they have, looking specifically on whether there are strategies shared by most of the interviewees.As a theoretical basis of the thesis I have chosen a study, described by Sigrid Hongset, where dyslectic pu-pils tried using printed text and text on tape, as well as both simultaneously. George Kingsley Zipfs ?Principle of least effort? will act as a supplemental theory.The interviews show that the students use talking books in different ways.

This project has been about making a design suggestion for a boat accessory that adjuststhe distance between a sail-or motorboat and the dinghy, which is connected by a rope inthe stern. Today this is all done by hand and can lead to problems when it comes tostressful situations such as harbors and narrow passages.A company called Sailsafe came up with the idea and the construction, which they alsohave tested. I found them through an acquaintance at Dacat AB where I did an internshipin the fall of 2010.Using sketching as the primary tool I?ve worked in an almost-real design project with theaim to develop my skills and give the company a relevant design suggestion. Denna studie har undersökt hur sociala problem beskrivs inom samtida svensk hiphopmusik. Syftet var att öka kunskapen om hur sociala problem formuleras. Därför har studien syftat till att undersöka vilken social problematik som beskrivs i hiphoptexterna samt hur och varför redogörelserna ser ut som de gör. I studien användes en innehållsanalys för att analysera 105 svenska hiphoptexter. Goffmans teori om stigma och Wacquants begrepp territoriellt stigma har applicerats vid analysen av de empiriska resultaten. Resultaten visar att svensk hiphopmusik tar upp sju sociala problem; missbruk, rasism, fattigdom, kriminalitet, utanförskap, prostitution samt hemlöshet.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to analyse school librarians and teachers perspective of childrens reading and reading progress, the impact of informational texts on childrens reading and how school librarians and teachers work/teach to improve their students understanding of informational texts. We also intend to study what consequences school librarians and teachers believe that childrens reduced understanding of informational texts can have in the long run and how this could be improved. The theories applied encompass different literature-pedagogical strategies, theories about reading purpose and direction of the reading process together with a theory that shows the school librarys function in the education. The empirical material has been collected through interviews with one school librarian and one teacher at three different schools. The material has then been analysed and interpreted from theories and earlier research.

Quality is the key to a well executed product or service. The construction industry hasn?t highlighted the quality in recent times which have contributed to the construction industry receiving much criticism in the field. The public sees it as an offhanded industry where errors and delays are common.The reason for this is considered to be primarily the lack of time, constant pressure to reduce costs and skills and the ability to communicate between the parties about what the correct quality really means. The industry has begun to realize that it must start setting clearer standards and that there are great opportunities for improvement.This report will give Peab an opportunity to develop their quality work.

Detta är en uppsats som hat fått sin utgångspunkt från rapporten "Om sociala problem i nya bostadsområden" från Centralförbundet för socialt arbete. Rapporten från 1976 konstaterade att det i hög grad förekom sociala problem i de nya bostadsområden som byggs enligt Miljonprogramsmodellen. I Halmstad byggdes bostadsområdet Andersberg för att bota den bostadsbrist som under 1960-talet rådde i Halmstad. Då området byggdes enligt normer från just Miljonprogrammet, blev uppsatsens syfte att se hur väl detta bostadsområde stämde överens med de definitioner av sociala problem som preciserades i rapporten, samt att ge en lokal och levande bild av det tidiga Andersberg. Artiklar och insändare från Hallandsposten och material från Halmstad Kommunarkiv bekräftade att ANdersberg tidigt inte bara hade problem likt de som konstaterats från 1976, utan även problem av annan karaktär, såsom vandalisering, otrygghet och klagomål på barnsäkerheten i området..

Syftet med denna undersökning har varit att studera gymnasieelevers förståelse för funktionsbegreppet.Den teoretiska utgångspunkten har varit att studera elevernas förmåga att växla mellanolika representationsformer och studera deras förståelse för relationen mellan de olika representationerna.Elevernas förmåga att resonera har också varit en väsentlig del och därför har forskningenkring matematiskt resonemang också varit en viktig del i arbetet. För att nå ett resultat har treklasser på gymnasiet fått skriva ett test konstruerat för att svara mot uppsatsens syfte. Utövertestet intervjuades tre av eleverna för att det skulle finnas möjlighet att fånga elevernas förmågaatt resonera. Resultatet kom att visa att vissa elever har svårt att utföra växlingar mellan vissaolika representationer, men mellan andra är det betydligt enklare. Det framkom att eleverna varskolade i ett algoritmiskt tänkande, och att eleverna hade svårt att resonera fritt och kreativt kringfunktionsbegreppet, samt att eleverna hade svårt att skilja de närliggande begreppen ekvation ochfunktion..

Flickor och pojkar har olika förutsättningar i matematikundervisningen. Vi behandlar flickor och pojkar olika bara för att de är flickor och pojkar. Forskningen visar att vid problemlösning finns det skillnader gällande hur flickor och pojkar går tillväga för att lösa problem. Syftet är att undersöka dessa skillnader och varför de finns. Utvalda elever har fått matematiska problem som de ska lösa.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how some teachers work with above-average pupils in mathematics. I have issued three questions based on the purpose of this study:How do teachers define an above-average pupil?In what way the teachers stimulate and challenge the above-average pupils?Has the school done something special for the above-average pupils?The method used to conduct this study was a semi-structured qualitative interview with four teachers in primary school. The method consists of interviews and observations.The study shows that the teachers make an effort to give these pupils extra attention and challenging tasks. A major focus is put on problems solving and to develop the pupil's ability to be able to explain how they think and if necessary, they should be able to explain even to their fellow- pupils.

Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka hur elever i skolår fyra interagerar och kommunicerar under problemlösning kring en öppen fråga i grupp, genom att uppmärksamma och göra en granskning av innehållet i kommunikationen. I arbetet användes ostrukturerad observation som metod. Dessutom användes enkät för att ta del av elevernas attityder till grupparbetet. Resultatet visade att 99 %, 637 av totalt 643 kommentarer, av kommunikationen handlade om själva uppgiften. Vidare visade resultatet även på vilka sätt eleverna bidrog till att lösa problemet.

This master's thesis is about alternative career opportunities for library and information science graduates. Ever since the beginning of our education we have been interested in working outside of the traditional libraries. Now that we are about to receive our degrees in library and information science we are doubtful if the competence we have obtained is enough to meet the demands of the labour market. The employment field we have been studying in this master's thesis is information management, since this is a field that we find comparable to library and information science. Our study involves a qualitative survey amongst recruiting companies to investigate how the recruiters value different educations, competences and personal skills when they employ staff within the field of information management.
