The central part in all public health work is health promotion and disease preventing actions among the population. Since all public health work includes the whole population, the work has to embrace disabled people as well. Within the disability policies, participation and equality are important goals, which illustrate the importance of a job. In previous studies the positive effects of animal have been detected among persons with disabilities, by better balance, better mobility, larger social network, new knowledge and most of all happiness. The aim of this study was to investigate how people with disabilities experience their health when they are working with animal husbandry at daily activities.

The Mobile phone has contributed to massive changes in the way that human beings communicate with each other and is a part of society?s globalization. Opinions differ in the area of user interface where some feel that mobile phones exclude users such as senior citizens or users with an intellectual or a physical disability.Universal Design ??design for all?, is a vision that intends to bring about settings, products and services that suits as many people as possible irrespective of an individual?s needs and prospects. The criteria for ?design for all? are among other things flexibility, user friendliness, comprehensibility and a high tolerance for mistakes.The purpose of this essay was to investigate the mobile phones graphic user-interface from the theory of a universal design.

Background:In Sweden and Northern Europe, cardiovascular disease mortality rates are high. The clinical picture in the Western world is dominated by lifestyle diseases in which individual behavior and attitudes have a significant impact on the health effect. In the society cardiovascular disease is seen as an illness factor and contribution to disability. Conditions for a good life are not only good health also factors such as intimate relationships and meaningful work which affect the person's quality of life.Aim:Lifestyle changes and quality of life for patients, regarding cardiovascular disease.Method:A literature review was made. Eight articles, quantitative and qualitative were analyzed.

A case study on a school about pupils in mathematical difficulties) Syfte: Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur matematiklärare och specialpedagoger i en skola arbetar med kartläggning av de elever som inte lyckas i matematik samt hur de omvandlar sina kartläggningar till handling och hur åtgärdsprogrammen ser ut för de elever som inte når målen i matematik. Metod: Fallstudie med ostrukturerade intervjuer. Resultat: När man lägger Nilholms tre perspektiv; dilemma, kompensatoriska och kritiska, att se på den specialpedagogiska praktiken, över de uttalande som respondenterna gör är det tydligt att även om alla inte är odelat positiva till den nuvarande ordningen så är den dagliga praktiken definitivt sprungen ur det kompensatoriska perspektivet.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the Western world. For persons who have had a myocardial infarction the following rehabilitation and the group training, which is a part of this, are very important. The cardiac rehabilitation is designed to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiovascular disease. Purpose: This study aimed to examine how patients with cardiovascular disease experienced group training in relation to the International Classification of Function, Disability and Health, ICF. Method: A qualitative interview study was performed according to Malterud, inspired by the Grounded Theory method.

The general objective of this qualitative study is to analyse and describe what people with psychiatric disabilities write on their blogs about their encounters with social workers. The questions the study is aiming to answer are: How do people with psychiatric disabilities describe their encounters with social workers? Do the informants describe instances of paternalism and advocacy? How do the informants describe their sense of meaningfulness, comprehensibility and manageability? The study is based on a theoretical framework in which empowerment and sense of coherence (SOC) are the key elements, along with the concepts of paternalism and advocacy as well as meaningfulness, comprehensibility and manageability. This bachelor thesis aims to investigate how social workers in Uppsala describe their procedure when investigating applications for housing assistance (i.e. boendestöd). Boendestöd is a specific type of services for people with disabilities, which aim to assist them in their lives. This welfare service is one of many regulated by the framework legislation that is the social services act (SoL 2001:453). Previous research indicates that civil servants who make decisions based on goal-oriented framework legislations like SoL, have a great freedom to act when they make judgments and decisions.

Over the past two decades, trends of integration processes in terms of citizens of different ethnicities, different gender and different sexual belongings, etc. has grown thanks to debates and new legislations. A marginalized and discriminated group in society such as women, immigrants, homosexuals, transsexuals and people with disabilities during this time has gained momentum in the community. The curiosity over whether these developments have changed our attitudes and values to the world around us, and if so how, is the reason for this master's thesis in disability studies.The Swedish development forms the basis for my belief on a younger generation of people who would be more tolerant than previous generations, in terms of what is considered to belong to the norm in our society, or not. The purpose of this study is therefore to increase knowledge about what beliefs young people today have about people with disabilities.

Tidigare forskning av hälsorelaterad livskvalitet hos barn och ungdomar med funktionsnedsättning har visat att de skattar sin hälsa lägre jämfört med den typiska populationen. Hälsorelaterad livskvalitet tycks dessutom variera mellan olika diagnosgrupper. Kunskap om hälsorelaterad livskvalitet hos barn och ungdomar med olika funktionsnedsättningar har fortfarande brister därför finns ett behov av ytterligare studier. Det finns dessutom ett behov av dessa studier i kliniska sammanhang. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka och beskriva hälsorelaterad livskvalitet hos barn och ungdomar med olika funktionsnedsättningar i Västerbotten.

This pre-study investigates the possibility of U-value measurements through an acoustic method. A hypothesis about an acoustic model built on acoustic theories combined with U-value theories is presented to answer the questions: ? Can U-value theory be combined with acoustic theories? ? Can the coefficient of heat be affirmed trough an acoustic measurement? The idea for this dissertation begun with a logical idea in mathematical similarity, between the coefficient of heat transmission units and sound intensity units. The U-value theory is based on assumptions such as initial resistance for inner walls and initial resistance for outer walls. The resistance in the material is interpreted through sound intensity theory. The argument is built upon mass law theory, which means if the frequency or thickness of the material layer doubles it implies an increase of sound reduction by 6 dB.

SammanfattningDenna uppsats har sin bakgrund i fem ord som kan ses som en kort sammanfattning kring vad matematikundervisningen bör innehålla enligt Lpo94 och kursplanen för matematik. Där står att matematik bör pratas, undersökas, upplevas, skapas och utforskas. Om dessa ord får finnas med i undervisningen så bör man kunna göra matematiken roligare och mer intressant. Att finna glädje och lust till matematiken är väldigt viktigt för att fånga barnens uppmärksamhet och rapporten Lusten att lära?med fokus på matematik diskuterar just vikten av lusten till matematik.  Baserat på vad som står skrivet kring matematikverkstäder så borde pedagoger kunna jobba i enlighet med vad Lpo94 och kursplanen i matematik förespråkar.

Att ha en utvecklingsstörning leder ofta till svårigheter att utföra dagliga aktiviteter. Detta resulterar i behov av anpassat stöd för att kunna vara delaktig. Personer somhar en utvecklingsstörning blir allt äldre och går inte i pension vid samma ålder somden övriga befolkningen. Därför har den dagliga verksamheten en stor betydelse förderas vardag. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur äldre personer som har enutvecklingsstörning upplever sin delaktighet i daglig verksamhet.

The master thesis, conducted at Metrima AB, concerns the development of a non-intrusivedistribution meter as a basis for individual tap water billing in apartments.The project is conducted in response to the market interest in individual tap water billing inapartments as an answer to environmental concerns regarding water consumption. Due to thehigh installation cost of traditional water meters, a new method of determining waterconsumption, without having to cut water pipes, is proposed.The proposed method distributes the total water consumption for an apartment complex toindividual apartments according to distribution meters, measuring water run-time, in eachapartment. The water run-time is estimated by measuring the water pipe?s outward vibrationsand temperature changes.A test environment was established and a prototype built, using a tilt- and vibration sensor forvibration sensing and a precision temperature sensor to measure temperature changes. As bothsensors work well in the test environment, further testing was done in 3 apartments for aduration of 5 days.
