The report describes an ecodesign thesis performed by the author at the Ã…F EcoDesign Center. The basic idea of ecodesign is to develop products with a minimized environmental load, without neglecting other significant product aspects such as function and price. During the last couple of years the public interest in environmental friendly products has increased, which has made it possible for companies to make a profit from their investments in ecodesign. To meet the increasing market for ecodesign services Ã…F started the Ã…F EcoDesign Center, where the company has gathered all of their competence in ecodesign in order to help companies to become greener. The task was to develop a tool for an Eco Screening.

Purpose/Aim: The aim is to examine the cooperation between the magazine Veckorevyn and its Internet based counterpart, veckorevyn.com. The purpose is also to see if veckorevyn.com is taking advantage of Internet and its possibilities.Material/Method: There are two qualitative methods used for this study: interviews and a three-pieced content analysis. The material analyzed is the magazine Veckorevyn (number 25/2008) and the website www.veckorevyn.com during a two week period.Main results: The study shows that Veckorevyn and veckorevyn.com have several differences, but also some similarities. The result is not unexpected, since we are dealing with two different types of media. There seems to be some cooperation, though on the web it is not very visible.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the possibilities and challenges facing an archive, Svenskt barnbildarkiv (SBBA), if to publish its material online. Our context for this study is image indexing. Our main questions are: How can SBBA index their pictures for a possible publication on the Internet? Are there any pros or cons in the determination of topics in children?s images, and in that case, which? What search paths are important when indexing children?s pictures, and why are they important? To answer these questions, the thesis is built on a wide study of interdisciplinary literature. But also on SBBA: s own handbook for image ?registration?, and on interviews with the persons working at the archive SBBA, in Eskilstuna.

The Volvo Trucks plant in Umeå is a highy complex manufacturing facility where the same production line handles a variety of different models. This require flexible and agile processes with high quality standards. This thesis studies the flow of material through a production line and how Volvo can use their existing manufacturing monitoring system to optimize the flow of materials.The goal with the thesis is to identify eventual problems with the flow of materials and to deliver a few proposals on how the production line can improve its productivity. The theory of LEAN, Just-In-Time and Supply Chain Management serves as the scientific reference to this project. By analyzing the flow of material, performing interviews and observing the processes a few problems are identified.

I den här uppsatsen gör Anton Andersson, Christoffer Urborn och Tommy Borg under sin andratermin på Journalistprogrammet en kvantitativ analys av könsfördelningen i Sundsvalls Tidning ochDagbladet. I undersökningen analyserades både text och bild i en veckas upplagor av bådatidningarna under våren 2014. Analysen omfattar endast tidningarnas egna material och inköptaartiklar. Material inskickat av läsare eller företagsannonser ingår inte i undersökningen.!Studien visar att tidningarnas namnomnämningar i text domineras av det manliga könet, endast varfjärde namn som fanns att läsa var ett kvinnligt. I bildsättningen var könsfördelningen mer jämn,men även där är männen överrepresenterade.

This master thesis examines online reading groups with swedish participants. The aim is, by way of introduction, to investigate what kind of online reading groups that exist and how they work. The overall question of the thesis is: how do a conversation about books on the Internet look like? The theory used is Grounded Theory and this is a methodology which has influenced the hole structure of the study. Grounded Theory apply that issues and hypothesis must be created from the collected material, and the author collected for this reason material in the form of survey answers, email-conversations, blogmaterial and articles to draw up exact issues based on this material.The material was sorted into four different categories; social reading, reading fellowship, virtual freedom and anonymity and the issues were formulated according to this categories.

The purpose of this thesis is to present a number of examples of how the debate concerning same-sex marriages in Sweden was conducted in religious media between the year of 2005 and May 1st 2009. I intend to examine if and how these debate articles can be descibes as examples of religion taking part in the public sphere according to José Casanovas theory of deprivitization and public religion (1994) and Jürgen Habermas theory of religion in the public sphere (1964, 1989, 2006, 2008). I will apply the theories to the material by using four criteria for public religion, based on Casanovas and Habermas two theories, designed by Marta Axner. I also intend to compare the arguments used in the material to the arguments found in Marta Axners dissertation Public Religions in Swedish Media (2013). To identify these arguments a textanalysis containing seven argumentschemes, designed by Gunnar Björnsson (1994), is applied.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the attitudes among library staff regarding a music downloading service called Musikwebb, which is available in many Swedish public libraries. It focuses on the impact of Musikwebb on the process of music selection, the relationship between Musikwebb and the digital development in public libraries and what service Musikwebb offers its users. The gathering of material was executed through focus group interviews with library staff in four libraries. This empirical material we divided in three categories: Music selection, The Library and its digital services, and Library services. We use the results of Sanna Talja?s discourse analysis regarding the relationship between Music, Culture and the Library to analyze our material.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: The purpose of this paper was to identify the communication process at the company Cherry casino and see what opinions the employees had about it. Moreover, an evaluation of the used strategies was done and an analysis about what perhaps could be done to improve the attitude, communication and in the end the result for the company.Material/Method: The empirical material was gathered through qualitative interviews and theory application.Main results: The transmission of information regarding the regular work related information works just fine and the channels used are well chosen. But more large-scale information that deals with the company?s plans, strategies and targets is not handled in the right way. Neither is the respond.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to examine how students who also serve as writers of bachelor theses mainly utilizing the discourse analysis methodology comprehend the method of discourse analysis, and in what way the students bestow it in their research.Methodology and Material: This is a case study of the theses, which are also the text material, as it can be used examining numerous cases. Another beneficial factor is the relationship to the theoretical framework. One does not need to divorce the two institutions; instead they cooperate with each other.Results: A thoroughgoing apprehension of the Discourse Analysis is it being strongly attached to semiotics and how texts can be analyzed by the method in question to reveal institutions in our society alongside with mapping out the agency of words. Syftet med det här arbetet har varit att utforma ett undervisningsmaterial med berättelser till årskurs 4-6 om död och sorg. Undervisningsmaterialet riktar sig till både mellanstadielärare och mellanstadieelever. Arbetet är grundat på kvalitativa intervjuer, fokusgruppssamtal och marknadsanalys. Utgångspunkter i det här arbetet har varit att man inte arbetar med död och sorg i grundskolan och att elever bör få uttrycka erfarenheter och funderingar kring död och sorg. Resultatet från intervjuerna har bekräftat att man inte arbetar med död och sorg djupgående i grundskolan.

Idag kommer det in mycket sittmöbler från 1950- och 1960-talet till tapetserarverkstäderna som är stoppade med skumplast och latex. Det kan ofta vara svårt att veta vad man ska göra med dessa möbler. Man kanske ställs inför frågor som; Måste den gamla stoppningen bytas ut helt? Om man kan bevara, hur länge till kommer den gamla stoppningen att hålla innan den bryts ned helt? Går det ens att bevara? Vad har det för betydelse för värdet av möbeln.Jag anser att man som möbeltapetserare bör kunna sin historia och känna till material och tekniker som användes under olika tidsperioder. Så jag har därför valt att avhandla stoppade möbler från 1950- och 1960-talet med fokus på de nya material och tekniker som kom att användas under denna tid.
