This master?s degree thesis stems from the new possibilities that digitization offers preserving and increased public accessibility of our cultural heritage, but also how a lack of co-ordination and standardization may result in short-term projects and lack of quality. The purpose of this thesis is to examine a selection of public libraries? digitization projects. The two questions posed are:How does a selection of public libraries conduct their digitization projects concerning a) goals and objectives, b) execution c) what resources they encompass?How well does their work agree with the recommendations that exists for goals, objectives and execution?To answer the questions interviews were conducted with persons in various ways involved with the digitization projects.

As demand for renewable energy is increasing rapidly, the market for biomass pellets is expected to continue to grow in the near future. Most of the new raw materials that are discussed for pellet production have one thing in common; the production costs will increase compared to using traditional raw materials such as sawdust and planer shavings. The aim of this thesis is to investigate to what degree increased use of new raw materials for pellet production will affect the general pellet prices in Sweden and to survey what plans Swedish pellet producers have concerning new raw materials. To investigate the raw material situation of the Swedish pellet producers an industry survey was performed. Literature studies were also made on previous research in the subject field. Calculations of the production costs for pellets were done for the raw materials sawdust, wet sawmill chips and energy wood respectively. New raw materials are already used by the large-scale pellet producers in Sweden.

The properties of this material has been studied and it was found that there is very little difference in what affect students in there choice of school, studies and career. Boys who choose hairdressing and styling differ more than girls who choose a career in technics. This is a surprising result which we didn´t expect. In researching background material we learned that it should differ more in perspective of gender. We have compiled the material around young people's choices to high school.

Det är en metodologisk studie med strävan att fokusera på livsberättelse, både som fenomen och som social handling. För att göra detta har uppsatsen koncentrerats på min informants, Sveas, livshistoria.Narrativ metod, som legat till grund för studien, har varit av kvalitativ art i form av livsberättelseintervju i kombination med dialogisk-performance analysmodell med utgångspunkt i hermeneutiken.Som teoretisk referensram för arbetet ligger livsvärldbegreppet, social konstruktionism, livsberättelseperspektivet och minnets roll.En muntlig livsberättelse berättas alltid i enlighet med kulturella konventioner och i relation till olika diskurser och offentliga berättelser som dominerar det sociala och kulturella sammanhang som berättaren lever i..

This hermeneutic case study examines how and why an insurance company?s output has been affected by a CEO-succession. The authors pay specific attention to three activities; changes in personnel and organization structure, handling of media and change in customer focus. It is shown that the CEO was able to influence the company?s activities and this discretion was primarily created through her relational capacity.

The purpose of this study was to examine how modern information and communication technology influence collective action within the framework of social movements. By studying the protests in the Arab World 2011, and focusing on the social movements in Suleimanya in northern Iraq, by observation taken on place, the essay discusses that collective action is closely related to the use of technology, for example cell phones and Internet.Result shows that modern communication technology has enabled immeasurable access andconnection between individuals throughout the world, which seems to be different from previouscollective action. The new communication channels in the form of social media, has been used for the dissemination of information and news, documentation, organization and membership recruitment in the social movements in the Arab World and Suleimanya. The new social movements have the tendency to be decentralized and flattened organized, they are now self-organizing and that they only do a whole as global patterns, as evidenced by the social movements in the Arab World andSuleimanya..

In this thesis, I discuss the impact Swedish national culture may have on Swedish diplomats. This is a qualitative study and I have used theories from studies of international negotiations to compare the oppositional results of those scientists with my interview material. With the help of my interview material from seven Swedish diplomats and five foreign diplomats I have compared their perceptions of Swedish culture, Swedish diplomats and their thoughts about the existence of an international diplomatic culture with well known sceientists of international negotiations. My main question is whether there is an international diplomatic subculture, without any national impact, or not. The mission is to base the thesis with earlier science and then compare and contrast with my interview material.

Arbete med hållbar utveckling är ytterst aktuellt i dagens samhälle. I detta arbete spelar lärarna en betydelsefull roll. Skolor kan idag ansöka om att få en miljöcertifiering för att på ett naturligt och engagerande sätt få in och stimulera miljöfrågorna i skolans och förskolans dagliga verksamhet. De två certifieringar som finns idag är Utmärkelsen Miljöskola och Grön Flagg. Vi har framförallt undersökt om elever på en miljöcertifierad skola har ökad insikt inom den ekologiska dimensionen av hållbar utveckling.

Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att få en ökad förståelse för den svenska kosumentens uppfattning om CSR samt hur detta påverkar deras agerande i en reel köpsituation.Vi har utgått från teorier såsom FCB-grid, TORA-modellen samt en modell över konsumenters attityd till att handla etiskt. Vi har även belyst informationsbehovet och dessutom tagit del av fyra stycken undersökningar som tidigare gjorts kring ämnet.Empirin grundar sig på nio stycken kvalitativa djupintervjuer, gjorda på konsumenter.Vi fann att den svenska konsumenten tycker det är viktigt att ett företag tar sitt etiska samt sociala ansvar. Dock är de inte konsekventa i ord och handling i och med att de inte agerar etiskt i en köpbeslutsprocess..

The aim with this thesis was to acquire an understanding for how individuals handle the feeling of shame in connection with cultural consumption. In order to capture the feeling of shame we developed an interview method called the Backstabber interview technique. We found that the Backstabber interview technique successfully triggered feelings of shame in connection to cultural consumption, which made it possible for us to study the handling of shame. We found that our respondents tended to use different forms of accounts in order to handle the feeling of shame. We categorized them into five accounts with relating sub-accounts.

Det här examensarbetet inom Maskiningenjörsprogrammet på Karlstad universitet har utförts på Linde Material handling AB i Örebro. Arbetet inleddes med att en kundundersökning utfördes genom en enkät till personal på Stora Enso Skoghall. Enkäten innehöll relevanta frågor om hur kunden upplever sina truckar från Linde, hur service och underhåll fungerar, samt hur de skulle vilja förbättra truckarna inför framtiden.Utifrån kundundersökning hos Stora Enso uppdagades det bl.a. att hydrauliken i klämaggregatet går för långsamt och att detta är ett störande moment som medför irritation bland truckförarna. Frågeställningen blev, hur väl anpassat klämaggregatet är till truckens hydrauliska funktion utifrån dagens krav på klämkraft och fart.

In this study, the pre-tension force in an insert screw connection are examined in order to establish a greater understanding of the system and to facilitate the process of making new metal cutting tools. Certain especially significant design variables such as the offset, the length of the contact thread and the shank length above the threaded hole, are selected to be closely examined. A comparison of the influence on the pre-tension force between threaded holes made with a worn, versus new, threading tool is also involved in the experiment. The study is limited to handling the screw sizes M2,5 and M3,5. The results show that a regression model, with good approximation, can be fitted to the measured values.

Studien syftar till att ta reda på och beskriva vilken medvetenhet som finns hos svenska textilkonstnärer när det kommer till produktionen av de textila naturmaterialen bomull, lin, silke och ull. Mina frågeställningarär hur svenska textilkonstnärer förhåller sig till ursprunget och produktionen i införskaffandet av deras textila material, samt hur de förhåller sig till ekologiskt respektive rättvisemärkt material i relation till sitt skapande.För att ge en bakgrund till detta inleds undersökningen med en kvalitativ litteraturstudie där jag beskriver den konventionella, respektive den ekologiska produktionen av de fyra ovan nämnda naturmaterialen, samt ger en beskrivning av textila märkningar och rättvis handel med textil. Genom en enkätstudie har jag sedan ställt frågor till tretton svenska textilkonstnärer som använder sig av bomull, lin, silke och ull för att ta reda på hur de förhåller sig till produktionen av dessa. Svaren från enkätstudien har sedan analyserats och resulterat i ett antal slutsatser; det finns stora brister i konstnärernas kunskaper kring produktionen av deras material. Flera tycker dock att de borde veta mer, och nio av tretton konstnärer svarade klart och tydligt att de var intresserade av att veta mer.

Finns det föreställningarna av rum och dess befintliga rörelser och struktur? Inom Inredningsarkitekturfinns det ettförhållningssättdär den praktiska funktionen är viktig. Där funktion betyder attvara aktiv i rummet, attkunna beröras av material tex möbler som social struktur för attkanske kunna producera för en konsument/brukare.Går det attlösgöra förväntningar och föreställningar från sin ram eller attvidga dessa i den rumsliga aspekteten attfylla något med känsla i stället för en brukande funktion? Om man reducerar funktionen, vilket betyder för mig, om man tar bort möbler och material och bara förhåller sigtill det mänskliga i ettrum. Vad blir kvar? D.v.s.
