There are several different kinds of bacteria that has developed resistance against the antibiotic agents used in todays medicine. Most of them has evolved from the human health care but several of them has gone over to also cause problems in the animal health care. They often occur as nosocomial infections and the greatest risk of exposure to them is during health care. Since infections with a resistant bacterium can be difficult to treat, it is desirable to prevent this spread, especially since an animal treated in a hospital often is more susceptible to infection, due to their primary condition. In Sweden the current resistance situation is good and is yearly monitored by the Swedish Veterinary Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring (SVARM) programme.

The aim of this paper is to explain and compare non-compliance of two EU-directives, ?the quality of bathing water? and ?the working time directive?. This study answers the questions: Why didn?t Sweden implement the directive on bathing water quality and the working time directive correctly? Are the reasons for non-compliance the same or different in the two cases? The paper is designed as a case study and with an explanatory attempt we explain why the two directives weren?t implemented correctly in Sweden. The theoretical approach is based on both general- and EU-specific implementation theories.

Forskning visar att den viktigaste behandlingen för att förebygga och läka venösa bensår är att minska ödem med kompressionsbehandling. Det saknas evidensbaserat informationsmaterial att lämna till patienten som komplement till den muntliga informationen.Syftet var att granska den litteratur som finns gällande bensårs påverkan på livskvaliteten och hur god compliance till kompressionsbehandling uppnås samt sammanställa ett underlag för en kort evidensbaserad informationsbroschyr till patienter om kompressionsbehandling.  Metod:Studien gjordes som en systematisk litteraturstudie. Resultat: Bensår och kompressionsbehandling både under och efter sårläkning inverkar negativt på patienternas livskvalitet. Över hälften av patienter med bensår upplever smärta av varierande grad.

Idag besväras ungefär 8 procent av Sveriges befolkning utav någon form av obstruktiv lungsjukdom som astma och kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom, kol. Genom en effektiv medicinering kan symtomen från sjukdomen minimeras och patienten få en nästintill symptomfri tillvaro. Tidigare studier visar dock att följsamhet, compliance, till behandling med inflammationsdämpande mediciner för dessa patienter inte är god. Syftet med denna studie har därför varit att i detalj kartlägga hur följsamheten är för patienter i åldersgruppen 40-49 år som köpt läkemedel mot obstruktiva lungsjukdomar i Jämtland. Kartläggningen har gjorts genom sammanställning av patientprofiler utifrån registrerade läkemedelsuttag, definierade dygnsdoser, beräknad följsamhet och fördelning av läkemedelsuttag.

AIM The aim of this paper was to clarify some of the factors that motivates pet owners to follow advice and instructions from veterinary nurses, so called compliance. METHOD An empirical study with an inductive approach was conducted, and a qualitative content analysis was performed. Content analysis is a scientific method of achieving qualitative results. The analysis is based on interviews with five pet owners, completed in February 2012. The interviews were transcribed and the results are made up of abstracted quotations. RESULTS The result in the study indicate that pet owners are motivated by information, respect, trustworthiness and treatment in meeting.

The first law in Sweden containing an act of legal deposit is from 1661. Since then the printing-houses are supposed to deliver all printed material to the Royal Library and other recipient libraries. Today, more and more information is solely published electronically. This material is not yet included in the law of legal deposit. In a similar way as our printed cultural heritage is saved for posterity our electronic cultural heritage has to be saved.

Introduktion: Det har skett en fördubbling av antalet höftfrakturer i västvärlden de två senaste årtionden vilket innebär stora kostnader för samhället och stort lidande för den enskilde. Om inte trenden bryts så kommer efterfrågan på vårdresurser för fallolyckor att nästan fördubblas inom några decennier. Syfte: Att granska om användandet av höftskyddsbyxan hos äldre minskar risken för höftfrakturer. Metod: Sökning av artiklar genomfördes i fyra databaser och randomiserade kontrollerade studier med kontrollgrupp som studerat höftskyddsbyxor och dess effekt och som även tittat på compliance valdes ut och granskades. Evidensstyrkan värderades i de enskilda studierna och resultatet av detta sammanställdes.

INTRODUKTION OCH SYFTE: Tidigare studier av kooperation och ortodonti har visat att ett av de bästa sätten att öka patienternas kooperation är genom att övervaka användningstiden och påminna patienten om att använda sin apparatur. Den här pilotstudiens syfte var att undersöka om någon utav två olika typer av påminnelser objektivt ökar användningstiden vid behandling med avtagbar apparatur eller inte. MATERIAL OCH METOD: 18 patienter i åldrarna 9-14 års ålder från en patientpopulation som behandlades vid avdelningen för Ortodonti, Odontologiska Fakulteten på Malmö Högskola, deltog i studien. Patienterna hade olika typer av bettavvikelser som gjorde dem behandlingsbara med antingen van Beek eller expansionsplåt. Patienterna placerades slumpmässigt in i en av tre grupper, alarm, kalender eller kontrollgrupp. Användningstid registrerades objektivt med en TheraMon®-timermodul som placerades inuti den ortodontiska apparaturens akrylbas. RESULTAT: Alarm-gruppen hade högst genomsnittlig användningstid.

The theory that concepts that are interpreted subjectively in building care creates problems in how the concepts are defined in practice within the current governing documents and guidelines for building care. This essay has studied concepts in the building maintenance literature to investigate whether there is consensus in compliance practice within the building process. In the study, 9 concepts have been investigated through conversational interviews and questionnaires answered by practitioners with extensive experience in building care processes. In the survey, an attempt is made, to measure how big or small the consensus is between practitioners who often need to collaborate within the building maintenance process. The investigation shows that existence of the concepts in building maintenance is very common in the theoretical literature examined but is almost completely absent in the craft area. Since laws, regulations, principles, and guidelines have defined concepts to support the decisions in the building maintenance process, it can be concluded that there is a lack of practice for compliance.

Studien genomfördes hösten 2013 på ett logistikföretag i Sverige, med syfte att studera sä-kerhetsklimatets potentiella påverkan på medarbetarnas förhållningssätt till incidentrapporte-ring. Utifrån teorier om säkerhetsklimat skapades en enkät, innehållande ett urval frågor från samtliga av de sju säkerhetsklimatsdimensioner, som det nordiska frågeformuläret NO-SACQ-50 (Kines et al., 2011) innehåller. Dessa kompletterades med frågor som fokuserade på uppfattningen av incidentrapportering. Resultaten visar att säkerhetsklimatet påverkar uppfattningen av incidentrapportering, som chefer och medarbetare delar. Ju bättre klimatet är desto större blir benägenheten att ha en positiv uppfattning av incidentrapporteringen, även när man tar personlighetsdraget CFC (Consideration of Future Consequences) i beak-tande.

The purposes of this thesis is study the European Court of Justice from a non legal perspective and investigate the courts possibility to advance its own preferred goals rather that of the member states in cases of non-compliance. Drawing on general principal-agent theory I construct a model from which I derive certain hypothesis mainly about under what circumstances we should expect the Court to be more sensitive to member states preferences and under what circumstances we should expect the Court to be less sensitive. These hypotheses are then tested empirically against all cases of non-compliance initiated by the European Commission against member states between 1953-2000. The results from the study are rather positive. The most important result is that when the threat of sanctions against the Court increases so does the Courts sensitiveness to member states preferences and when it decreases so does the Courts sensitiveness..

Feline asthma is a condition very similar to the respiratory disease affecting humans. It is causing, among other things, a constriction of the bronchial airways, an increase of mucus production and damage to, or erosion of, the epithelial membrane. The symptoms occur intermittently and do, in most cases, evolve during a long period of time. The aim of this essay was to investigate whether there are any nursing routines for feline patients with asthma in animal clinics and animal hospitals in Sweden, and if so, to compare similarities and differences. A literary study of research material also led to a suggestion of how to form a nursing routine for this type of patient.

The telenursing service deals with offering the public guidance as what to do with their health and illness concern. More specifically this service includes triage, support, advice, education, referral, information and coordination. To conduct telephone advice is a complicated task to perform and put specific demands of the nurse?s communication skills.The purpose of this study was to critically review the impact of telephone counseling focused on context of implementation, perspective, design and clinical relevance by a sample of studies within the field.The critical review focused on inconsistencies in the material. Strengths and weaknesses of the studies were explored, with emphasis on detecting areas of skill gaps.Twelve of thirteen studies were made in the context of telenursing.
