One of our reasons is that we think the subject usability is interesting, is that we think it is an important. Usability is maybe the most important element when you develop or choose a system because it can save money for the companies and give the users a more delightful and better work environment. The aim of the investigation is to find out if the implementation of a web portal is a direction to reach higher usability in a complex system that consists of several different interacting applications. In our case we will try to see if Karlshamns AB:s recently implemented web portal is more useful than their previous application (Movex with interacting programs) One thought with the report is to give the system developers a perspective of how the usability can be in-house made applications versus standard applications. Also companies that not have any computer- or department for development and which are thinking of get hold of, change, replace or complement their system and applications, may have some interest in our thesis. We have used a qualitative investigation method in our study to answer our hypothesis.

System Andersson AB is a company located in Jönköping that works with developing computer systems for the mechanical engineering industry. As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality.

This degree thesis is based on an assignment from BEOMAT in Storfors. BEOMAT is a company that constructs and sellsclay pigeons to both the national and international market.Our main purpose with this paper is to find a solution/system that can replace the expensive and space demandingOlympic trap facility. Our solution will replace fifteen clay pigeon throwers with one automatic thrower whosimulate all throwers together. The system will be provided with an appropriate control system for mass productiontherefore this system needs to be user-friendly so no previous knowledge is required.Totally 405 different throw coordinates will be stored in the programme in nine different subprograms. Sett ur ett komplexitetsperspektiv kommer de tätt kopplade agenterna i de tätt kopplade systemen att uppvisa interaktionsmönster, som skiljer sig från tidigare historiska epoker med dynamiska processer unika för tidevarvet. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att, via en litteraturstudie, beskriva och problematisera individens förutsättningar för identitetsbildning och ontologisk säkerhet i komplexa sociala system. Resultaten visar att komplexa sociala system kännetecknas av självorganisering, som kan resultera i att komplexa strukturer/egenskaper växer fram på en högre nivå. The focus of this project has been on the drainage tank of the reheater on Ringhals 1. This tank has on two previous occasions received such a high water level that the system automatically emergency stopped. For this reason, events and various readings from these two occasions has been specifically studied and analyzed. In order to prove theories about what causes these problems a model of the system was created in the program Dymola. Using simulation results from the model, we have been able to demonstrate how the system's measured values should look likeunder normal conditions with respect to flows, pressures, temperatures, valve positions and water level in the drainage tank.

Mjukvarubaserad RAID har blivit mer och mer intressant eftersom det är ett billigt och bra sätt att skydda sig mot hårdvarufel på hårddiskar. Tidigare har det inneburit prestandaförluster om man inte har använt en hårdvarubaserad RAID kontroller men med dagens snabba processorer är det inte längre så. Hårddiskar går för eller senare sönder och för ett RAID-system som ska vara igång tjugofyra timmar om dygnet är det viktigt att det även då fungerar med bra prestanda. Denna undersökning visar hur mycket sämre prestandan blir under sådana omständigheter samt hur lång återställningstid man kan förvänta sig på ett datorssystem uppbyggt av delar för hemmabruk.

Lower power consumption means lower costs, less environmental impact, and longer life for applications that runs on batteries.This work compiles methods to reduce power consumption of Linux systems. The work includes examining whether the available opportunities are platform-specific or of a more general nature.

We contacted Skånemejerier as they have been successful in the certifying area. They asked us if we wanted to do a study in the certifying area of dairy farmers. At Skånemejerier they gave us most of the literature in the area about certifying. The result of the study, is that we have taken up the most common remark?s.
