Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of today's major public health problems, affecting up to 347 million people worldwide. Several studies have shown a correlation between hearing loss and diabetes mellitus. However, it is still unclear whether this correlation differs between type 1-diabetes and type 2-diabetes.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is any difference in prevalence of hearing loss in type 1-diabetics versus type 2-diabetics.Method: A meta-analysis was performed based on ten studies that were identified through the database PubMed and through manual searching of references. Odds ratios for the risk of developing hearing loss were calculated in each study. Pooled odds ratios were calculated using a random effects model.Results: Pooled odds ratios indicates that both type 1-diabetics and type 2-diabetics are more likely to develope hearing loss compared to non-diabetic controls.

The aim of the study is to learn more about the way preschool teachers work with Information and Communication Technology(ICT). More specifically, this study aims to explore how preschool teachers describe their experience of ICT, the conditions and opportunities to work with ICT, and their own knowledge and competence in the use of digital tools with preschool children. The research method consists of interviews with preschool teachers and observations at five municipal preschools in Stockholm as well as an analysis of the relevant passages in the Curriculum for the Preschool and the Curriculum of Stockholm city. This study shows that there seems to be great variation in the amount of ICT tools present in preschools. Preschool teachers expect a lot from ICT, and the improvements that it can make on their work.

Denna rapport behandlar den process då ett befintligt koncept på en kaffekvarn skall utvecklas med hänsyn till interaktion och gränssnittsdesign.Litteraturstudier utfördes för att få en djupare kunskap inom ämnen som designprinciper, färglära, semiotik och användbarhet. I förstudien gjordes en marknadsanalys där målet var att få användarens syn på den kaffekvarn som används. Samtliga tillfrågade användare var nöjda med den kvarn som brukas och ansåg att det ljud som uppstår vid malning är en viktig signal som ges till användaren. Med de kommentarer som uppstod och den marknadsanalys som utfördes skapades en kravspecifikation med krav som att kvarnen skall vara lätt att rengöra och användaren skall förstå dess funktion utan manual.Konceptgenereringsmetoder som moodboard och stimulianalys användes för att generera nya koncept som utvärderades med hjälp av pluralistisk genomgång. Utefter dessa metoder, och den information som under tidigare faser erhållits skapades ett slutligt koncept; en kaffekvarn med lutad display för att öka användarens betraktningsvinkel samt böjda gejdrar för en smidig insättning av filterhållare.

AIM This report studies the Swedish vintage store company Myrorna from a branding perspective.METHOD The study has applied the qualitative method where four personal interviews have taken a fundamental ground. The four respondents are taken from different professionals and from different positions by the reason that the brand would be based on a fair assessment. The study is obtaining data that further was collected from the library of University of Gävle, the articles from Emerladinsight.com and remaining pictures- and text materials is taken from the organization Myrorna. The theoretical material have been adapted on the brand Myrorna and then been used to analyze the empirical part. From the general impression that portrays the brand the researcher leads the discussion.RESULT AND CONCLUSION The result shows that the brand Myrorna in some extent do not fulfill the image the brand in the media mediate, between the illusion and the reality there is an empty space according to the research.

In this essay I have described ecocriticism as a theory with several different subfields that are inspired by a cross-disciplinary approach, such as green culture studies, ecofeminism, and postcolonial ecocriticism. After a short summary of the background of ecocritical studies I analyze the various subfields, take a closer look at their contents and present various examples of ecocritical thinking. A presentation of the commonly used concepts within the discipline and some reflections on these is followed by my final discussion, where I state that even though ecocriticism is a relatively new theory and the concept doesn?t have a clear definition as yet, it is in my view a useful tool for analysis and can with time make valuable contributions to literary studies, not least by introducing a number of new perspectives..

The purpose of this paper is to through a conceptual definition, outline the meaning of integrated reporting. The empirical study aims to identify the development of integrated reporting in terms of driving forces and participants. We also intend to identify and explain the effects of integrated reporting and to describe, analyze and create an understanding of what is required of companies and the challenges an application of integrated can bring. To achieve the purpose of this paper, we have formulated a central question; What is integrated reporting and what will this development mean for companies?  To answer the central question of this paper we have chosen to apply a qualitative approach with case studies as a research strategy.

Housing cooperatives in Sweden practice very long depreciation times for their buildings and assets, subsequently depreciation costs are very low. This study aims at addressing issues relating to potential upward revisions of these costs and the revenue levels needed by housing cooperatives to address these changes, while also providing a detailed summary of some chosen financial ratios under different circumstances. This study's results are based upon recent (2015) market data within the Stockholm region, collected through a manual process and analyzed quantitatively. On average, housing cooperatives EBIT do not cover their financial costs and have low profit margins. The average depreciation time is considerably above what a technical evaluation by other sources may state.

The aim of this study is to analyze the construction of "Christian masculinity" during the modern era. This is made in opposition to earlier research that has claimed that masculinity could not be constructed religiously, that is, without at the same time being constructed as effeminate or anti-masculine.Using a wide variety of theoretical concepts - such as discourse analysis, class, secularisation, masculinity as constructed from countertypes, and finally masculinity as a homosocial construction - I analyze a free church in Sweden, the Scanian Missionary Society (Skånes Missionssällskap), during the period of ca 1939-1945 (the society was a district of the Swedish Covenant Church, or Svenska Missionsförbundet), in order to argue for the standpoint that masculinity, in fact, could be constructed religiously. AbstractIntroduction: Hand Arm Risk Assessment Method (HARM) is a tool to assess the risks of deve­lo­ping complaints of the arm, neck or shoulders during manual work. The method was developed in the Netherlands primarily for employers, but is also used as an aid to work environment in­spec­tors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the HARM-method for assessment of biomecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs when performing manual tasks as well as its suitability to be used within work environment inspection. Methods: Ten labour inspectors conducted assessments of five video-recorded work tasks. Assess­ments made with HARM were compared with those made with the Assessment of Re­pe­titive Tasks (ART) tool and with ACGIH Hand Actvity Level (HAL) - both methods for assess­ment of bio­mecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs - and with the model for the assessment of re­pe­titive work in the pro­visions of the Swedish Work Environ­ment Autho­rity on ergonomics for the prevention of mus­culo­skeletal disorders, AFS 1998:1.

Detta är slutrapporten som sammanbinder alla de olika delarna i vårt examinationsarbete för programmet ?Bygg och Anläggning? vid samhällsbyggnadsinstitutionen med inriktning mot mätning. Rapporten innehåller i stora drag hur idén tog form och utvecklats och hur vi gått tillväga genom projektets gång samt vilka val med motivation vi gjort vid vissa vägskäl i projektet. Vi valde att göra en enkel manual/checklista med tillhörande felsökningsguide som främst riktar sig till arbetsledning och maskinförare. Efter vi gått en kurs i maskinstyrning så insåg vi att det inte finns så mycket kursmaterial och hjälpmedel i ämnet och att behovet av detta är stort idag då maskinstyrningsområdet expanderar kraftigt på marknaden.
