Aim: The aim was to elucidate the prerequisites for a health promoting leadership as First Line Manager at a University hospital in Sweden based on competence, role, support structures and own durability. Results: First Line Managers at the chosen hospital seems to have rather good conditions for conducting a health promoting leadership. All respondents did have a university degree and most thought that their competence corresponded well with the role.

The aim of this study was to explore and gain understanding of the situation between Managers in different forms of human service organizations. I chose to use a qualitative method and conducted semi-structured interviews with five professional middle Managers in the public sector. To accomplish my purpose, I worked on the basis of several questions. The questions dealt with the role of middle management and what it involves, how it is perceived and what the middle Managers think of the specific requirements for them and their leadership in organizations that provide services relating to people.  As a result of the analysis I have used the theory of social roles that describes the meaning of the different roles and role conflicts that arise in connection with various and conflicting expectations. The review of the results shows that middle Managers in human service organizations experience to have to deal with a complex leadership role.

Our purpose with this thesis was to study how tourism providers deliver quality to their customers. We chose to carry out two case studies where we interviewed an owner of a camp site, and a municipal Manager employed at another camp site. The questions were based on customer needs, service quality and dissatisfaction. The study gave us some useful aspects. The respondents told us that it was very important to the tourist providers to listen to the customer´s specific needs and to give them personal attention.

The purpose of this essay is to examine Swedish HR-Managers who have either received, or been nominated for, the award ?HR-Manager of the Year?. We investigate the Managers? personalities, how they think about their own role and HR?s function in the organization, all in an environment that can be characterized by some skepticism towards HR. We find the HR-Managers to be ?winners?; strong individuals that are confident, communicative, and driven.

 Our study aims at investigating the unit Manager?s, within LSS, perceiveddiscretion, when people with Down´s syndrome develop Alzheimer?s disease. We wanted to know what they perceive as limiting factors or facilitators in order to meet changing and/or emerging needs, as well as how they interpret their discretion in relation to this. We have conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews with five unit mangers within LSS.When analyzing the interview material, we have used a theoretical approach from a street-level bureaucracy and from the unit Managers? perceiveddiscretion point of view.Our study?s result demonstrate that the unit Managers are experiencing a wide discretion and do not feel a need to widen their identifieddiscretion..

Utveckling av simuleringsspel för internutbildning inom callcenters

Examensarbetet utfördes på uppdrag av Qsurvey och syftar till att utveckla ett simuleringsspel som kan användas vid internutbildning inom callcenterbranschen. I arbetet har specifika problem och frågeställningar för callcenterindustri studerats. I utvecklingsarbetet med simuleringsspelet har hänsyn tagits till callcenterbranschens karaktär, både vad gäller resurser och statistik har inspiration hämtats från verkliga callcenters. Huvudsyftet med programmet är att belysa callcenterbranschens karaktär och visa på vilken typ av frågeställningar en callcenterManager vanligen ställs inför.Arbetet resulterade i en testad mjukvara. Användaren av spelet har till sitt förfogande information och funktionalitet liknande det som en callcenter- Manager besitter..

The cost of transportation has strongly increased in the recent years, transportations which are a major part for the construction companies. Skanska Asphalt which is a part of Skanska Sverige AB has noticed that there are significant cost savings to be made with the purchasing of transports. The transports in this case is about asphalt, where the costs are about 10% of the outsourcing business turnover. The purpose of this thesis is to study the working practice that Skanska Asphalt are using today in controlling and time-writing, for the asphalt transportations. Resulting in recommendations on how to improve the working practice at Skanska Asphalt.This study was conducted with the help of a number of interviews with Skanska?s employees and with suppliers of transportation to describe the practices which are being used in during the asphalt transportation.

Stress i socialt arbete : om socialarbetares upplevelser och hantering av stress i sitt arbete.

The purpose of this study is to use a qualitative approach to get an understanding of what is expected of social workers targeted towards women Managers in social services. Nine social workers were interviewed. The empirical data was then analyzed on the basis of gender theory. Respondents did not see their supervisor as a Manager but more as a social worker with special tasks. Our empirical data indicates that there is a strong belief that men and women possess different properties.

How are they apprehended by customers of the company? What are Prime Cares own thoughts behind the channels? How does Prime Cares self-image correspond to the way that customers apprehend the company?Material/Method: Twenty interviews has been done with different customers of Prime Care in order to see how the company and its communication flow is apprehended. A consultant Manager of Prime Care has also been asked about purposes behind the companies external communication channels in order to enable a comparison between Prime Cares image and profile. Prime Cares website, one of their mail sendouts, their salescalls, salesvisits and their exhibition participation have been studied on the basis of relevant litterature. Maletzkes model of mass communication was used as a general view of communication flow.Main results: All communication channels included in this study have different ways of function even though they all have the same main purpose, videlicet to promote the company, to inform about its activities and to recruit new customers and consultants.

In this study a case study was conducted at the Transport Agency. The government agency is seeking better alternatives to its current ways of keeping track of important dates stated in legal documents. The agency wants to explore the possibility for an IT-solution for keeping track on those dates. In the case study change analysis was conducted on the vehicle type approval process. Qualitative interviews were conducted with a section Manager, vehicle type and component approvers, and with a system administrator and a system Manager at the Transport Agency in Borlänge.

The information I gathered is the basis for analysis and final discussion. The material has been collected through personal interviews with two Managers and then I send questions to the employees by e-mail that they responded. This is to get such an interesting empirical data as possible.
