The care for the elderly in the municipalities has recently seen the need for a formalized system for quality assurance. Under increasing demands for monetary efficiency while bound by law to retain acceptable standards in health care, there is need for efficient and at the same time quality-assured management. The municipalities often solve this puzzle by introducing systems and standards influenced by theory-clusters such as NPM (New Public Management), TQM (Total Quality Management) or other quality management theories.This essay focuses on how the public administration in the municipalities defines quality and designs and implements system for formalized quality assurance. Our basic view of organizations is institutionalist and our theoretical framework includes theories about quality, NPM and TQM..
Ledarskap kan och skall utövas - eller?
Vårt syfte är att skapa en djupare förståelse och klargöra för användningen avbegreppen management och ledarskap i praktiken. Med hjälp av begreppens innebörd kan vi som forskare få möjligheten att framföra hur begreppen används praktiskt. På så vis kan vi se om teorin reproduceras i praktiken. Vår uppsats visar att intervjupersonerna tror att de utövar ledarskap, men att det inte kan utövas i praktiken. Detta har sin grund i den tvetydighet som omger begreppet ledarskap och företagets organisationskontext.

This Masters thesis is performed at the request of the National Board of Forestry in order to investigate how the Swedish municipalities use their forests. The study is of general character with emphasis on the social values of the forests.
The municipalities? purposes with their forests have varied over time, but lately the social aspects have been recognised as interesting. The social values of the forests can be defined as the values from the forests that contribute to the wealth of humans. This has socio-economic importance for the municipalities.
The study was performed as a quantitative questionnaire survey, complemented with qualitative interviews.

Problem: Hur ska en nedskrivningsprövning av goodwill på Solvent AB genomföras?Vad hade nedskrivningsprövning av goodwill haft för resultatpåverkan i förhållandetill avskrivning enligt plan?Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på vilken skillnad det skulle ge i resultatet avatt nedskrivningspröva goodwill i jämförelse med att skriva av det enligt plan. Deterfordras då en metod för att kunna nedskrivningspröva goodwill för Solvent AB.Metod: Modellen som har valts för denna studie är en deskriptiv/deduktiv modell som vianser passar studien bäst. Datainsamlingen kommer främst att ske från sekundäradatakällor på ett kvantitativt sätt. Den främsta datakällan är den förvärvsanalys somgjorts av KPMG.Slutsats: För att Solvent AB ska kunna göra en nedskrivningsprövning på ett så bra sätt sommöjligt behövs att de särredovisar affärsrörelsens kassaflöden.

Den våldsutövande mannen - som vilken man som helst? : En diskursanalys av hur mäns våld mot kvinnor förstås i regeringens handlingsplan
The purpose of this essay is to identify how violence against women is understood in the government's policy action plan called Handlingsplan för att bekämpa mäns våld mot kvinnor, hedersrelaterat våld och förtryck samt våld i samkönade relationer. The main issue that the study is based on, is whether there is a feminist gendered understanding that permeates the action plan. To examine this, I have formulated two more specific questions: - What is considered to be the main problem of men's violence against women? - What is considered to be the reasons for men's violence against women? The empirical material of the study consists of the government's action plan. With the help of Carol Bacchis discourse analytical approach "What's the problem approach", important patterns in the material have been detected.

Problem: I uppsatsen undersöks vilka möjligheter och hot mobiltelefonibranschen i Sverige står inför när 3G-teknikens införs. Vidare undersöks hur en nätaktör som Hi 3G Access AB kan vinna varaktiga konkurrensfördelar på denna marknad. The purchasing of management consulting services has traditionally been characterized by informal and relation based interaction. However, case studies have shown that there is a movement towards more formalized and structured purchasing procedures among buyers of management consulting services. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence and the implications of this professionalization. To investigate to what extent certain mechanisms of professionalization have been implemented on the Swedish market, a survey directed to Sweden?s 500 largest companies was conducted.

The industry of management training programs is increasing rapidly. Every year numerous organizations sponsor expensive management training programs for their managers, hoping that this will pay off and make the organizations more profitable. The companies that offer these management training programs could be seen as important conveyers of conceptions of leadership. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to identify similarities between a number of management training programs and see how they are related to different leadership theories , and based on this try to recognize the conceptions of leadership that are conveyed. The study is of qualitative nature and is based on interviews with representatives from five management training companies in Sweden along with a text analysis of written material presented by the companies.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how gender equality can be used in the workplace, its possible effects, and what collaboration can contribute to the subject of gender equality. A combination of legal sociological and legal dogmatic methodology has been used to examine the EU and Swedish law, how equality should be approached and what previous studies have concluded. An interview has been conducted to provide a clearer picture of how gender equality appears in practice, in the modern workplace. An equality plan should be conducted every three years and applies to employers who are responsible for more than 25 employees. The manual should include a description of the measures considered necessary in the workplace in order to promote gender equality. How an equality plan should be developed is not specifically outlined in the current law, and thus this is left up to the employer to determine.
