Violence against children and particularly the ?Bobby Case? in spring 2006 initiated an unprecedented debate in the Swedish media about child Maltreatment and child murder. There are however some children whose death causes never will be solved, and some of these cases are erroneously classified as something else.The present survey is commissioned by the Swedish Rescue Services Agency and the Swedish Centre for Lessons Learned from Incidents & Accidents, and will serve as the basis for a children safety council which will be established 2006.In this survey the answer to the question how deaths among children and youth under the age of 18 years caused by accidents, suicides and violence are investigated when the background and the intention is uncertain is elaborated. A statistical report of how many deaths are classified as uncertain intent is given in the survey. The statistics shows that 26 children and youths under the age of 18 have died from uncertain intent between the years 1997-2003.There are many purposes to a death investigation, for example to determine the cause and manner of death.

The overall aim was to examine how the public interest to protect children from violence and sexual abuse at home, is realized by social workers. The study´s central focus was the risk assessments as Social services are obliged to do when they receive a report containing concern that children are being exposed to violence or sexual abuse at home. The study addresses the following questions:o How do social workers go about practically, and what support and knowledge is being used to determine whether the Social services need to intervene for the protection of a child?o What risk and protective factors are taken into account by social workers in the assessment process?o What contextual factors do social workers experience are affecting them in the assessment process?o Which support does the documentation system BBIC provide in the assessment process?The study material was collected through qualitative group interviews, with a modified vignette methodology as tools. The study included a total of twelve social workers, with varying numbers in each interview group.

Ett stort antal barn utsätts regelbundet för fysiska övergrepp i hemmet. De allra flesta uppsöker BVC flera gånger under sina första sex levnadsår. Sjuksköterskan ges därmed goda möjligheter att undersöka och observera barnet samt skapa en bra relation till föräldrarna. Barn som utsätts för fysiska övergrepp upptäcks många gånger inte förrän det är för sent, när något allvarligt redan inträffat som leder till akut kontakt med hälso- och sjukvården. Det är viktigt att de utsatta barnens situation upptäcks så tidigt som möjligt i vårdkedjan, helst redan i samband med rutinbesök på barnavårdscentralen [BVC].

The purpose of this candidate thesis is to obtain an overall picture of how many prohibitions against owning or taking care of animals that were announced in Sweden in the years 2006-2008 and on what basis these judicial decisions were taken. What is the situation for the person behind the judicial decisions? Is there a so-called risk category where preventive actions to solve the problem can be taken at an earlier stage?The first Swedish animal welfare legislation came into force in 1944. Previously there was a law of 1857 that only prohibited the Maltreatment of farm animals. In 1988 the existing animal welfare law was revised into an in principle new law (1988:534).As early as in the Royal Majesty?s government bill (1944:43) to the 1944 animal welfare legislation, there was a proposal that issued prohibition for those having been convicted of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Vårt syfte med studien var att belysa skolkuratorernas, på låg ? och mellanstadie-nivå, upplevelse av anmälningsskyldigheten enligt SoL 14:1§. Syftet var även att belysa skolkuratorernas erfarenheter, liksom upplevelser av hinder och möjlighet-er i kontakten med föräldrarna till det barn som misstänks fara illa. Vidare var vårt syfte att undersöka om och i så fall hur skolkuratorerna kommunicerar sin oro till föräldrarna. Vi använde oss av ett målinriktat urval, eftersom vi var intresserade av en särskild målgrupp.
