In our case study we investigate how media chose to illuminate the process of court proceedings concerning a one specific rape case in Sweden during the spring and autumn 2007. For our study we have chosen to investigate two Swedish daily newspapers, one known to be a serious morning newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, and the other an evening tabloid newspaper Expressen. We would like to see whether the reports of the trial diverge and if that is, how they differ.The rape took place in Stockholm?s posh area named Stureplan in March 2007. The two men 21 and 25 years old, accused for the crime were acquitted after the first instance.

The aim of this study was to seek knowledge about how the media audience interprets media representations of immigrants as well as the construction of ?us? and ?them? that is created from the media report.We implemented two focus group interviews, one containing only ethnical Swedes and one holding a variety of people with different ethnical backgrounds. The focus groups got to read nine news articles from different Swedish news papers selected by us, based upon previous research. These articles got to serve as the basis of the discussion.To supplement the focus groups, which got to represent the media audience, we also interviewed two different persons we choose to call informants, whom are both immigrants and are or have been politically active and often appear in local media.The interviews were our empirical material which was used for analysis. The method we used was qualitative analysis of meaning and was based upon a hermeneutic starting point, meaning that all humans are interpreting beings.

How do the Swedish police get represented in news media and how does that representation differentiate from other media channels where the police have full control over what is said? During several years we have been able to follow the victories and disappointments of Ludmila Engqvist through the scrutinising eye of the media. This essay will deal with how media?s picture perception of Ludmila Engqvist has changed by analysing articles from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen from 1996 to 2001. Why and how the media?s picture has changed will be analysed through the perspectives of Ludmila Engqvist being an elite athlete, immigrant and woman.

Minst 500 000 av Sveriges befolkning har kroniskt obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) och ungefär 250 000 har hjärtsvikt. De två patientgrupperna hade många likartade symtom och en sjuksköterskeledd gemensam primärvårdsmottagning för dessa patienter kunde innebära många vinster. Ett av distriktssköterskans kompetensområde var att ha stödjande samtal om hur den enskilde patienten hanterade sin sjukdom. Syftet med uppsatsen var att jämföra copingförmåga och copingstrategier mellan patienter med KOL och patienter med hjärtsvikt, samt att undersöka eventuella skillnader av grad av ångest, depression, påverkan på funktion av fatigue och andfåddhet utifrån copingförmåga och användande av olika copingstrategier.  Metoden var en beskrivande och jämförande tvärsnittsstudie. Patienter med KOL respektive hjärtsvikt från primärvården i tre landsting ingick i studien och de fick svara på en hemskickad enkät.

Since the emergence of social media websites as an established part of our society, the landscape ofcommunication has undergone dramatic changes. Especially in the field of journalism, the impact ofsocial media websites, such as Twitter, has been the subject of discussions about the actual partsocial media play in communication and news reporting. The general opinion has been that socialmedia has revolutionized the way we communicate and that a shift in power is taking place as themasses now engage in, and affect, our societies way of spreading information. This study is acritical discussion about whether Twitter in particular, and social media in general, has affected thejournalistic field in the extent that many claim it has. By comparing theories about traditionalmedia, such as television and newspapers, with recent studies about Twitter, we conclude that it isto early to establish the role of social media.

SammanfattningDenna undersökning grundar sig på mina tidigare erfarenheter från fritidshemmet, där jag fått uppfattningen att fritidshemmen ger få möjligheter till media- och IT-användning och att verksamheten därigenom förlorar en del barn tidigare. Syftet med undersökningen är att ta reda på om det finns en koppling mellan IT- och mediaanvändningen på fritidshemmet och när barn slutar på fritids. Arbetet utgår från dessa tre frågeställningar: Upplever barnen att det finns för få möjligheter att använda IT och media på fritidshemmet? Är i så fall bristen av IT och media på fritidshemmet en anledning till att barn slutar? Hur är pedagogernas syn på fritidshemmets IT- och mediaanvändning? För att besvara dem genomfördes en enkätundersökning med elever, samt kvalitativa intervjuer med fritidspedagoger.Dagens samhälle har förändrats mycket under de senaste åren. Den digitala tekniken får en större betydelse i barns liv.

Deliberative democracy theory holds that democracy is about active partaking on formal and informal arenas in the public sphere where fairly equal citizens can obtain knowledge, discuss, evaluate and affect the political agenda before decisions are made.In line with the deliberative vision of online deliberation social media such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Twingly offer such formal and informal arenas where people can obtain knowledge and interact with other people, and politicians.The Swedish EU-Presidency was the first EU-presidency to make use of social media and it was the first time the Swedish Government Offices used other social media than email and chat features.This thesis will examine the Swedish EU-Presidency?s ambitions of using social media as well as the actual use of social media on the Swedish EU-Presidency website in the light of deliberative democracy theory.The aim of this thesis is, through a case study, to analyze the Swedish EU-Presidency?s use of social media in the light of deliberative democracy theory..

I dag lider ca 25-35 % av skolungdomar av psykisk ohälsa. Tidigare forskning har visat att denna ohälsa beror på att ungdomar sover alltför lite, vilket i sin tur associerats till en ökad användning av sociala media. Orsakssambanden är emellertid oklara och varierar mellan studier. Av den anledningen genomfördes en enkätstudie på gymnasielever, för att ytterligare belysa hur sambanden ser hos svenska ungdomar.I undersökningen användes två frågeformulär bestående av en reducerad version av KASAM, ett sömnformulär, samt frågor angående sociala media.I studien deltog 51 elever (M: 18.0 år, SD 0.35), varav 22 kvinnliga och 28 manliga elever i ÅK 3. Resultatet visade att cirka hälften av eleverna (49 %) ansåg sig sova signifikant kortare tid än vad de önskade (p<0.0001).

Våld i samhället ökade något under de senaste statistikförda åren. Inom olika grenar av hälso- och sjukvården skiljde sig våldet åt både till karaktär och till frekvens. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser och handlande i mötet med patienter som brukar hot och våld inom akutsjukvården. Studien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturöversikt där specifika frågeställningar användes. Studiens resultat baserades på 18 vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visade att våld i form av verbala och fysiska hot var vanligt förekommande inom akutsjukvården, en övervägande andel sjuksköterskor blev utsatta för överfall under sitt arbetsliv. Verbalt och fysiskt våld hade en betydande effekt på personalens välbefinnande och deras tillfredsställelse i arbetet. Stöd från kollegor upplevdes som mycket värdefullt medan feedback från arbetsgivare ofta saknades.

On the first of October 2012 the media reported that the women in the Ikea cataloguehad been airbrushed in the Saudi edition. Initially the blame was put on either theSaudi government the Islamic culture or the Saudi franchise. In the end it wasrevealed that the Swedish company Inter Ikea Systems had the full responsibility forIkeas actions and therefore was the culprit behind the airbrushing. On whoseinitiative or why the airbrushing was done the media never found out. These areanswers only Ikea has, although they remain unresponsive to these questionsthroughout the news portrayal.This study methodology uses a qualitative content analysis as framework to furtherinvestigate the news media with support of theoretical perspectives such as mediatheory, power relations and cultural differences.

Patienter med cancerdiagnos är i riskzonen för att bli malnutrierade. Sjuksköterskor kan möta patienter med cancerdiagnos och därför är det viktigt att ha kunskap och förståelse om malnutrition och hur det med hjälp av bedömningsstöd kan identifieras. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva bedömningsstöd och bedömningsinstrument som sjuksköterskor kan använda vid identifiering av malnutrition hos patienter med cancerdiagnos. Metoden var en litteraturstudie vilken utformades utifrån Polit och Beck niostegsmodell. Litteratursökningen genomfördes i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed.

This Bachelor thesis is a case study that explores the possibilities and complications to use social media in marketing purposes. The case involves a company that sells garments for men. The company, named Mouli, has decided to use social media as their marketing platform. The company makes an interesting case, since they are still quite new on the market and have all the possibilities to succeed.The purpose for the thesis is to examine Mouli?s use of marketing in social media and to evaluate what could be done to amend the communication.
