Swedish students' knowledge of mathematics has deteriorated in recent years. Teaching of mathematics is therefore starting point in an ongoing discussion among researchers, school leaders, politicians, teachers and others, who all thinks they know best about how teaching should be designed to the greatest extent possible to raise students' proficiency levels in the subject. Teachers' practices have long been the focus of discussions and views on these differ. The purpose of this paper is therefore to study students 'conceptions of mathematics and mathematics teaching, with teachers' methods and tools of focus, in relation to previous research on the subject. The method used was a survey of students in secondary school and a textual analysis of previous studies on the subject.As revealed by the survey was that the textbook has a big advantage in mathematics education in Sweden today.Many students are not accustomed to working in a different way and thereforedoes not know either what the alternative approach entails.

A totally mixed ration (TMR) is a mixture of all the necessary feed components for the cow. She will eat the exact same feed in every bite which will make the rumen pH more stable and always supply her with a constant proportion between roughage and concentrate. This will make it possible for the cow to eat more dry matter (DM) a day because the fibre requirements are fulfilled. If a part of the concentrate is given separated from the mixture it is called partly mixed rations (PMR) and is almost always used when using an automatic milking system (AMS). When using TMR and PMR it is important to have a high hygiene, be accurate when mixing the feed and to look after cows in a good and strict way. The aim of this study was to document different farms with PMR in an AMS to see which routines they have and how they are managing their production.

Samhället är mer eller mindre konstant utsatt för risker. De flesta av dem är så små, och har kanske till och med så pass obetydande effekter för individen om de realiseras, att vi negligerar dem i våra dagliga beslut. Vid vissa tillfällen står vid dock inför beslut som är betydligt svårare, t.ex. i vilken mån vi ska handla kostsamma försäkringar för stora olyckor som högst osannolikt inträffar men skulle få katastrofala konsekvenser. Liknande situationer uppstår för centrala beslutsfattare där man fattar beslut att genomföra riskreducerande åtgärder i samband med potentiella katastrofer.

People of the modern world consume more than they ever used to do. Because of the close correlation between consumption and the amount of waste, the waste volume is also expected to increase. The purpose of this study is to examine if some measures in the recycling process from Sweden could be implemented in Indonesia. In fact, Indonesia is one of the countries in which the waste management system is struggling. Tetra Pak, one of the world leading producer of food packaging, is studied in this report.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyze how to improve the design of a Microsoft Surface SUR40 application. The application in focus was an interactive product browser developed by the company Spree, our external client. Spree is a multi-touch software provider, established in September 2010 and they expressed a need for suggestions for how to improve this application. Our work aimed at revealing how to make the application more suitable for several users and make it easier for them to interact simultaneously on the surface. From a qualitative standpoint we have examined how 17 users experienced the application.

This paper presents a project and literature overview about how risk management and quality sometimes goes hand in hand and sometimes in two different directions. Meaning that the risk management can affect product or process quality differently depending on what risks an organisation chooses to control.The purpose with this paper is to get a deeper understanding about how risk and quality works together with IT-support and therefore we have been actively participating in a project with a risk management company called Zert. A literature study and a qualitative interview study have also been undertaken to see what the customers and the other researchers have written, to be able to make proper conclusions on the subject.To easily work together and get the information that was needed, four methods where used. Besides the qualitative interview and literature study the think-out-loud, card sorting and a variation on the extreme programming method where used to help visualize and improve communication both with Zert, the costumers and among ourselves.Zert is a risk management company that helps other organisations to control their different types of risks that they might be taking, by offering a system where the risk management process is held and providing consulting services by helping within the processes. Both Zert and their customers see the communication, knowledge and teamwork as something important as well as the quality within the work, processes and the end result.

The purpose of this study is to find out what preschool teachers think about antisocial children's literature. Based on five qualitative interviews with teachers at a preschool that works with a standard critical approach. In order to fulfill my purpose with this study, I focused on how these teachers felt that it was important to use the standard critical children's literature in preschool. I wanted to find out what the teachers' thoughts were on the concept of standard critical children's literature and how and whether they use it in their daily activities. When I analyzed the results of my interviews I used the queer theories that include standard critical pedagogy and literature in preschool.

Företagskoncentrationer har blivit en vanlig företeelse i europeiskt näringsliv och utgör en naturlig del av många företags affärsverksamhet. Vad som tidigare har betraktats som en åtgärd främst reserverad för stora industrikoncerner med resurser och erfarenhet har idag blivit ett viktigt strategiskt verktyg för företag att uppnå sina mål. Användandet av företagsöverlåtelser existerar idag på en global nivå där företag ser bortom nationsgränserna för att leta efter passande köpeobjekt. En företagskoncentration innebär en strukturförändring på marknaden och en koncentration av marknadsmakt. Det företag som ges möjlighet att utnyttja den koncentrerade makten kan agera på ett sätt som snedvrider konkurrensen på marknaden och orsakar skada för konsumenter. Företagskoncentrationer av en viss storlek måste därför anmälas till och godkännas av konkurrensmyndigheter innan de får genomföras.

 This bachelor?s thesis purpose is to examine how library staff experiences the meeting with non-Swedish speaking users of public libraries, and how they solve different situations. Today there is not much research on this subject but we find these questions important to study because we think it is good to be aware of the situations that can arise and discuss how to solve any problems. To have a basis for this qualitative study we conducted group interviews with library staff, where they are asked about their experiences with non-Swedish speaking users. In the analysis the results of the interviews are compared to previous research and related to communication theory, which is the theoretical framework for this study.

This thesis explores the opinion of different participants in the music business regarding music being made available at the public libraries. The aim of the thesis is to answer the following questions; which are the most important issues concerning the distribution of music? How do the informants perceive the public libraries mission and activity in regard to make recorded music available? Which are the benefits/disadvantages with music being made available at public libraries? Seven qualitative, semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives from the following organisations; SKAP (The Swedish Society of Popular Music Composers), FST (Society of Swedish Composers), SAMI (Swedish Artists and Musicians Interest Organisation) SMF (The Swedish Society of Musicians), SOM (Swedish Independent Musicproducers), IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) and EMI Music Sweden. A study of literature and articles generated nine themes, which constitutes the frame of reference for the thesis. The result shows that several of the informants have not reflected upon the public library as an important actor when it comes to the distribution of music.

Bakgrunden till studien ligger i att Sverige har fått kritik från Förenta Nationernas (FN) barnrättskommitté för den rådande bristen på barns delaktighet i beslut som rör deras egna liv. Idrottsföreningar är en viktig arena för barns utveckling och utgör en stor del av deras fritid. Föreningsidrotten ska enligt Riksidrottsförbundet utgå från barnkonventionen och bör därför arbeta med frågor som rör barn och ungas rätt till inflytande.Syftet med studien var att beskriva flickornas perspektiv på inflytande och delaktighet i sin idrottsförening och att sedan belysa det med hjälp av ett barnperspektiv. Fokusgruppsdiskussioner användes för att undersöka problemområdet. Tio deltagare delades in i två olika fokusgrupper som diskuterade i cirka en halvtimma var.

För att skydda fotbollens rykte och anseende satte det europeiska fotbollsförbundet UEFA ekonomiska krav på de nationella fotbollsförbunden. Utfärdad av det Svenska Fotbollsförbundet infördes därför år 2001 den s.k. Elitlicensen i svensk fotboll, gällande Allsvenskan och Superettan för herrar samt Damallsvenskan.Elitlicensen sätter ett antal krav på klubbarna, med största vikt på att det egna kapitalet i föreningen inte får vara negativt, och att påföljden om detta inte uppfylls blir att föreningen tvångsnedflyttas en division. Örebro SK blev den första allsvenska klubb som tvingades ned en division pga. negativt eget kapital.

Uppsatsen handlar om att öka förståelsen om svenska jordbrukare. Bland de faktorerna som undersöktes var varför de startade företaget, vad de hade för mål och drivkrafter då och hur de har ändrats under åren fram till dagsläget. Personerna i undersökningen bedömdes även om de var lyckliga över sina beslut i och utanför företaget. Det som undersökningen använde som hjälpmedel var intervjuer och svaren som kom in bedömdes individuellt mellan personerna. Det resultat uppsatsen kommer fram till är att det inte är så stor skillnad mellan dem som har ärvt sitt företag och dem som har startat från grunden när de börjar. Skillnaderna kommer senare i livet.

I detta examensarbete är syftet att söka kunskap och få svar vad som påverkar ungdomar i deras gymnasieval. I min blivande position som gymnasielärare vill jag skapa mig en bild av hur ungdomarna upplever sin väg fram till gymnasiet genom sitt gymnasieval. Inför valet står ungdomarna med väldigt olika förutsättningar. En del kan känna stor osäkerhet inför valet medan andra har sin levnadsbana klart utstakad. Därför har jag inriktat min undersökning på att analysera elevers självvärdering och olika påverkansfaktorer. I undersökningen har jag har använt mig av en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod.

The purpose of my project was to explore variability. I wanted to combine different ways of sitting and create some kind of seating furniture that could be changed to fit different kinds of situations and needs. I sought after a way to express safety and stability in the seating furniture and at the same time make it clear that it could be changed into something else or something more. It was very important to me that the furniture piece would have a long lifetime and would be something you kept for a long period of time. I decided that the changeable factor in my piece would be the possibility to change it from being a chair for one person into being a bench for two people.
