We must all take our responsibility to our common environment, we have to make sure that the following generation is guaranteed a healthy and good environment. Swedens universities have a significant role too achieve this. Environment questions have to integrate in the educa¬tion as a compulsory element, then more people will have an increased comprehension for the influence we have ion the environment. . My degree project have I decided to do about the environmental work at Halmstad University.

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a rapidly increasing disease worldwide. The disease is connected to lifestyle. Making lifestyle changes is hard. When suffering from Diabetes mellitus type 2 it is necessary to live healthy to prevent secondary diseases. Lifestyle changes includes for example changing dietary habits, become psychically active or losing weight.

I  Sverige  har  antalet  äldre  ökat  de  senaste  årtiondena.  Ju  äldre  människor  blir  desto vanligare blir förekomsten av  sjukdomar och funktionshinder. Vårdplatserna inom  både slutenvård  och  särskilt  boende  har  blivit  färre  och  uppskattningsvis  vårdas  250  000 personer   i   hemvård  idag.   Denna   utveckling   innebär   att   den   närstående,   som   är anhörigvårdare i hemmet har en betydelsefull roll. Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva anhörigvårdarens  erfarenheter  av  kunskapsbehov  för  att  ge  omsorg  och  vård  till  sin make/maka med långvarig sjukdom och/eller funktionshinder i hemmet. Studien baseras på  intervjuer,  som  gjordes  med  anhörigvårdare  dels  genom  en  fokusgrupp  med  fyra deltagare,  dels  genom  fyra  individuella  intervjuer,  det  vill  säga  sammanlagt  åtta informanter.  Intervjumaterialet  har  bearbetats  med  hjälp  av  kvalitativ  innehållsanalys. Studien pågick under åren 2009-2010.

Swedish studies have shown that more people than expected have problems with leg ulcers and that the yearly cost for treatment per patient is approximately 26 500kr. Since the elderly population is on the rise, there is a need to highlight this growing problem, to make sure that proper assessment tools are used and to improve the standard of care given to patients with leg ulcers. The aim was to show what a difference the nurse can make to patients with leg ulcers. With all types of wounds it is imperative to establish if there is any underlying reasons since certain illnesses can cause more wounds or delay the healing process. The doctor is responsible for making the diagnosis and to prescribe the correct treatment whereas the nurse?s responsibility is for the nursing care and its documentation.

The aim of this paper is to examine, by means of a quantitative method, whether using a Swedish athlete endorser in a sports advertisement will increase its effectiveness. We examine which characteristics an athlete endorser needs to be able to make people form a positive attitude towards the athlete endorser and thereby make him or her successful in advertising. We also look into whether an interest in sports can affect the advertisement effectiveness when using a Swedish athlete endorser. The results show that a well-liked Swedish athlete endorser generates highest ad effectiveness and that the most important characteristics that contribute to form a positive attitude towards an athlete endorser are trustworthy, physical attractiveness, success in sports and ?successful in respondent?s mind?.

Studien behandlar den nya strandskyddslagstiftningens tillämpning gällande landsbygdsutveckling i strandnära lägen som infördes 2009/2010. Lagstiftningen infördes för att stimulera den lokala och regionala utvecklingen genom att skapa arbetstillfällen eller attraktiva bomiljöer i områden med god tillgång till strandområden med låg exploateringsgrad. Enligt en tidigare rapport över kartläggningen av hur strandskyddslagstiftningen tillämpas i Sverige, påvisades skillnader i tillämpningen av strandskyddslagstiftningen både regionalt och lokalt.Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur lagstiftningen tillämpas i Västra Götalands län. Utifrån en jämförelse av Länsstyrelsens och kommunernas argument och beslut undersöktes vad som ansetts förenligt med strandskyddsbestämmelserna i miljöbalken samt vad som ansetts strida mot dem. Syftet med studien är även att undersöka om syftet med lagstiftningen tillgodoses samt om det påvisats några skillnader i tillämpningen.Studien gjordes huvudsakligen med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod men även en kvantitativ metod användes för att göra en sammanställning med olika kategorier av alla LIS-områdena i Västra Götaland.Slutsatsen visar på att både Länsstyrelsen och kommunerna brister i sina motiveringar angående LIS både vad gäller översiktsplan och beslut i senare skede.

This report summarizes a Bachelor Degree Project in Integrated Product Development, carried out during the fall 2007 till spring 2008 by three students at the Product Design Engineering Program at the University of Skövde. The project was performed in cooperation with Lundbergs Möbler AB in Tibro. Lundbergs wants to start selling furniture to the public eldercare. The purpose of this project was to adjust one of their chairs. The project layout was to first make a preliminary investigation where the market, competitors? assortment and the purchasing process are studied.

This thesis investigates how a developer can move a desktop application to the web environment. The investigation also includes finding out what are the limitations of a web application and what is not possible to move to the web from the desktop. The question is whether there is any functionality that is gained or lost in the web application after the move.A survey has been conducted to find out what types of problems occur when moving an application from desktop to the web. The authors of this thesis have developed two prototypes for a company who wants to move a limited part of their current desktop application to the web in the future. The prototypes have been developed in Silverlight and ASP.NET.The survey has revealed that one of the disadvantages of web applications is the difficulty in working with local files and hardware on the computer.

In my work I have chosen to examine the profitability for small scale production of hemp briquettes. My study also includes a review of which briquette technique that is the most common one among small scale producers. The reason that I have chosen this subject is because of the discussions about climate and energy that we face almost every day. I also think the subject is extra interesting in these days when the grain prizes are at a historic high level. In order for me to achieve a reliable report, a hemp and briquette producer has given me the actual data from his farm. In that way I have been able to make my calculations from a concrete perspective.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper was to examine preschool teacher?s thoughts about using Manual Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication as an aid for children in/with communication disabilities. The method I?ve used in the survey is qualitative interview.The three interviewed preschool teachers use Manual Signs foremost for those children who have a poorly developed spoken language. Manual Signs are used as a complement to the spoken language and the preschool teachers use it to increase the children?s power of concentration.

The purpose of this study was to create a picture of Södra´s round wood transporters usage, and positive or negative experiences of the KOLA-system. The KOLA-system, owned and managed by SDC, is a program for handling timber orders and displaying their locations on digital maps. The study was conducted as a twenty-three question internet-based survey. Of those asked to complete the survey, 57 percent chose to answer the questions. The results of the study indicated that several of the transporters found the system quite good and used it to a large extent. The system also had many deficiencies however, and there was clear potential for further increasing the usage of the system.

This thesis aim to give a broader picture of what sketches and sketchingis through many voices, and images made by architects, a psychiatrist, a teacher, and landscape architect students.The focus is on the hand made sketch and show many examples of what a sketch can look like.What is a sketch? A sketch can be many things, but the general consensus is that it is made fast and as a draft. Itcan be made in any material, two or three dimensional.

Vårt syfte är att undersöka hur företag kan bedriva strategiskt personalarbete och på vilket sätt olika insatser av strategisk personalutveckling kan påverka eller bidra till en god internrekrytering. Med hjälp av vald teori är vår ambition att studien resulterar i en analys av sannolika konsekvenser av fallföretagets valda strategi för personalutveckling. Vi har valt att genomföra en fallstudie med ett industriföretag vars huvudkontor är beläget i Malmö. Anledningen till att vi valt att just ett fallföretag är för att på så sätt underlätta för en analys där fokus och djup främjas. Vidare är vår ansats av abduktiv karaktär vilket innebär att vi arbetat med teori och empiri parallellt.

When different type of programs are developed one wants to make these adjustable to future changes and requirements. It must be done a good design of the program from the beginning to make it possible to continue development of it without having to redo big parts of it to high costs. In the area of object orientation there are design pattern, which can be used to design systems that can be adjusted to new changes in an easier way. I have in this thesis chosen to take a closer look at how to design a program that sends SMS to cell phones through a system of an operator. One requirement on the program is that it has to be possible to change what operator to send though in an easy way.

The aim of this thesis is to study the phenomenon of read/write OPAC by looking at how students at Pennsylvania University use PennTags in order to influence document descriptions in the library catalogue. The main questions to be answered are to what extent PennTags is being used in different subject areas and what users contribute to document descriptions through tagging in different subject areas. Studying the posts created by a sample of PennTags users from a quantitative approach I try to find out if there is reason to believe that the activity of users and users? possibility to make meaningful contributions are dependent of the subject matter being dealt with in documents described, as anticipated by the theory of pace layering. I find that user interest in influencing the library catalogue through PennTags appears to be low in general, with exception for in the subject areas of the main classes Language and literature and Social sciences in Library of Congress Classification.
