The purpose of this study was to examine the ways in which the Swedish lifestyle magazine VeckoRevyn construct the sex and love relations of bi- and homosexuals. We analyzed 22 unique texts in Magazines, from 2009 to 2014, in order to get a result as current as possible.To represent the magazine overall we have selected texts from various parts of the magazine. With a critical discourse analysis and through relevant and significant theories and perspectives such as social constructionism and heteronormativity, we found that VeckoRevyn represent sex and love relations of bi- and homosexuals through four discourses.The outcome of our study shows that VeckoRevyn only represent a limited part of bi- and homosexuals sex and love relations. In the analysed texts bi- and homosexuals are forced to ?come out of the closet? repeatedly and their sexual relations are rarely represented.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to find out in which ways a group of first generation immigrants use Swedish papers and Magazines in a public library and which information needs this group has about Swedish society. One important aspect in this essay is integration of immigrants in the Swedish society as a possible effect of newspaper reading. The method used in this study is qualitative. Data is generated through semi-structured interviews.

Bakgrund: Det har i tidigare forskningar bevisats att privatpersoner har en tendens att vilja få hög avkastning på kort tid och därför väljer de ofta att investera i aktier. Detta leder till att aktierekommendationer har en stor påverkan på de privatpersoner som vill investera i aktier utan att ha en god kunskap inom ämnet. Det har även visats i olika undersökningar att privatpersoner i majoritet har lägre tillit för affärstidningar än för banker.Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är att undersöka banker och affärstidningarnas utfall av aktierekommendationer på den svenska aktiemarknaden.Genomförande: En kvantitativ undersökning genomfördes, där vi valde fyra olika banker och fyra olika affärstidningar. Tidsperioden var tre år, mellan 2010-01-01 och 2012-12-31. Totalt undersöktes 617 köp- och säljrekommendationer under fyra olika perioder; en dag, fem dagar, tio dagar och 30 dagar efter publiceringsdatumet.Resultat: Resultatet av undersökningen antyder på att det finns en skillnad mellan banker och affärstidningar gällande träffsäkerheten på dess publicerade aktierekommendationer.

The focus of this study is the ways in which the discourses of the three largest right-wing populist parties in Scandinavia ? Danish Dansk Folkeparti, Norwegian Fremskrittspartiet and Swedish Sverigedemokraterna ? are articulated and on defining which individuals they include and exclude. The discourses of the three parties are compared and analyzed to determine whether they constitute specific nationalist and culturally racist discourses. The problem is addressed by applying a social constructivist theory of nationalism and cultural racism, and specifically the binary opposition ?we? and ?them?, on a material consisting of the respective parties? member Magazines from 2007.

Domestic weekly Magazines in Sweden are characterized by an emphasis on practical editorial material such as cooking recipes and knitting patterns, and also contain a comparatively large share of reader material. This makes it possible to study the readers through texts produced by themselves. The aim of this study of columns of readers' tips on domestic work is to analyze how readers embody a specific femininity centered around the woman as responsible for the home, in the sense of everyday maintenance as well as aesthetic development. The author defines this femininity as "home maker". The theoretical framework for the analysis is the sociological theory of Pierre Bourdieu, and Jonathan Potter's and Margaret Wetherell's model of interpretive repertoire is also used where modality is discussed.

The subject of this master thesis concerns the area of change in libraries, with special orientation towards privatisation. Its aim is to investigate how privatisation is portrayed in one of Sweden?s largest library Magazines, Biblioteksbladet, in order to gain insight into why these portrayals are what they are, and what consequences they might get. Three theoretical viewpoints create the general base of the thesis; first, Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis (CDA) theory on the relations between text and society; second, Audunsson?s theory concerning how change is dealt with in public libraries; and third, a conceptual framework on privatisation consisting of definitions and perspectives of the phenomenon.

This study discusses and examines the alternative teaching materials in religion class amongst seven teachers in Stockholm region. As religion is a complex subject to both learn and to teach it may be beneficial to use alternative texts to show the diversity of the subject. The aim of this study was to examine why teachers use news articles and other articles from daily Magazines in their religion class. I also examined how the teachers motivated their choices of teaching materials. The study is qualitative and the empirical work was done by interviewing seven teachers in religion.

Background: Mergers and acquisitions have evolved from initially almost exclusively having been an American phenomenon, to becoming a common occurrence throughout the world. Companies though, are not defenseless against hostile bids, but must take many factors into account when selecting defense measures. Purpose: This paper aims to enhance the understanding of acquisitions through hostile bids on the companies studied. More specifically, this study aims to create a deeper understanding in how Scania and Skandia have chosen their defense measures, or could have chosen, before and during their hostile bidding processes with specific concern for their strategic credibility. Method: This paper is based on two companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange exposed to hostile takeover attempts in a similar time period.

The aim of this essay has been to study six female seniors use and view of the library and its roles. The two Danish scientists Jochumsen and Rasmussen talk about the library in terms of a social center, cultural center, knowledge center and information center. Depending on what lifestyle the seniors belong to in the social room, they use the library differently. The social room consists of four lifestyles, north-west, north-east, south-west and south-east. The things that are important to consider in order to be able to place each senior within the different lifestyles are education level, economic standard, interests and so forth.

Syftet med projektet är att utveckla heuristiker lämpade för utvärdering av ett tidningsställ samt att testa dessa heuristiker genom att utföra en heuristisk utvärdering på två tidningsställ. Skapandet av nya heuristiker skedde iterativt i olika steg och granskades av utomstående personer under processen. Efter flera omskrivningar testades heuristikerna och deras relevansvärde i ett mindre test av tre försökspersoner. Efter att de nya heuristikerna färdigställts återstod det att utföra en formell heuristisk utvärdering av de båda tidningsställen utifrån de färdigställda heuristikerna. Den heuristiska utvärderingen som utfördes skedde i enlighet med Nielsens metod och även i enlighet med Baker et al.
