The aim of this paper was to investigate whether or not it is possible to keep bottlenose dolphins and killer whales in captivity while maintaining good animal welfare. Today, many zoos and aquariums claim that their primary function is to conserve species and educate people about conservation and threatened species. The keeping of wild animals is justified by conservation programs and by the information spread to the zoo visitors. This does however not seem to be the case for marine mammals such as bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops sp.) and killer whales (Oricnus orca) since these species are not threatened in the wild and neither of them are listed as threatened in IUCN's Red List. Bottlenose dolphins and killer whales are entirely aquatic carnivores and are distributed in all coastal and pelagic waters from the Arctic ice in the north to the Antarctic ice in the south.

During the last decades, brand equity has been a priority topic for both practitioners and academics. In accordance with the structural changes in the economic settings caused by the so-called "new economy", corporations being confronted with a shift on perceived business value structure from tangible assets to intangibles. On the other hand firms increasingly are adopting more responsible behaviour towards their societies. In this context, one critical question is to understand how corporate conduct may affect brand equity. The purpose of this study was to find how brand equity (BE) measurement methods embrace corporate responsibility (CR), based on a literature review.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet har varit är att öka kunskapen om lärares bedömning av elevers praktiska färdighet i innebandy på den nationella idrottsutbildningen (NIU). Vidare syftar studien till att jämföra lärarnas bedömning med kursplanens kunskapskrav.Vilka färdigheter är det som de intervjuade lärarna bedömer hos eleverna?Hur bedömer de intervjuade lärarna elevernas färdigheter?Hur erfar de intervjuade lärarna arbetet med bedömning och betygsättning?MetodMed hänsyn till studiens kvalitativa ansats valdes intervju som metod. Studien avgränsar sig till de lärare som undervisar innebandy som specialidrott. Urvalet gjordes med hänsyn till geografisk spridning.

Problemen med fuktskador i byggnader är många och kostnaderna för att åtgärda problemen är stora. ByggaF är en metod som riktar sig till hela byggprocessen och den dokumenterar, kommunicerar samt säkerställer fuktsäkerheten genom hela den processen. NCC använder sig idag av en egen metod för att säkerställa fuktsäkerheten och den metoden jämförs i detta arbete mot ByggaF. Arbetet inriktar sig mot produktionsskedet av byggprocessen vilket innebär att fuktsäkerhetsarbetet är granskat i det skedet.Syftet med detta examensarbete är att NCC i Umeå ska få en bättre kännedom om vad ByggaF är och hur den metoden kan användas inom byggproduktion. Ytterligare syfte är att visa hur arbetet kan ske för att förebygga fuktskaderisken genom att använda metoden ByggaF, en metod för fuktsäkert byggande.Arbetet är utfört på NCCs byggnation på Öbacka strand etapp 4 och det bygget har fungerat som referens för NCCs fuktarbete.

SummaryThe purpose of this thesis is to examine what effect the IFRS 2 has on earnings, equity, financial strength and return on equity for listed Swedish companies with active stock option plans. The purpose is further to investigate the companies? attitudes towards IFRS 2 and to find out if companies tend to deviate from stock option plans due to the changed accounting rules. We also want to examine the view of IFRS 2 from an auditor?s perspective.We have used a deductive approach and a mix of quantitative and qualitative research methods with a view to get a completely clear picture within the field of study.

Bakgrunden till denna uppsats är att tidigare forskning visat att elever läser annorlunda om det finns uppgifter kopplat till läsningen, vilket kan göra att det inte är texten som står i fokus. Tidigare forskning har också visat att tonåringar inte läser lika mycket som yngre gör, samt att det är annat de söker och vill identifiera sig med i texten, de vill ha en utmaning och få möjlighet att ompröva sina föreställningar. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka gymnasier elever på teoretiskt inriktade programs inställning till skönlitteratur både i och utanför skolan för att ta reda på vilken roll sammanhang, plats, miljö och tidigare erfarenheter har för läsupplevelsen och om eleverna läser annorlunda om det finns uppgifter som skall besvaras.Metoden som användes var den kvalitativa intervjumetoden och det var 11 elever som intervjuades. Resultatet visade att det fanns ett intresse för texter och fiktivt berättande men att uppgifter inte alltid sågs som något positivt och att det kan vara lättare att komma i dialog med texten om läsning äger rum mer förutsättningslöst; Att kunna identifiera sig med texten är viktigt på så sätt att läsaren vill känna sig medskapande men det behöver inte vara så att det lästa ska vara nära kopplat till egna upplevelser. Engagemanget för texten kan grundas på handlingen, språkets uppbyggnad och vilka frågeområden som texten tar upp.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur begreppet skyddsfaktorer hos barn och ungdomar synliggörs och hur kunskap om ämnet tillämpas i tre svenska skolbaserade preventionsprogram: Social och Emotionell Träning (SET), Örebro Preventionsprogram (ÖPP) och Community Parent Education Program (COPE). Tidigare forskning om barn och ungdomars skyddsfaktorer talar för att ett främjande av dessa faktorer kan hjälpa barn och ungdomar undvika att utveckla ett normbrytande beteende. Den här studien har inriktat sig på skolbaserade preventionsprogram då skolan är den sociala arena där barn och ungdomar spenderar majoriteten av sin vakna tid.Studiens frågeställningar är som följer:- Hur synliggörs begreppet skyddsfaktorer i programbeskrivningarna för de tre utvalda skolbaserade preventionsprogrammen?- Hur tillämpas den kunskap som finns om skyddsfaktorer i det praktiska arbetet med preventionsprogrammen enligt hur det beskrivs i programbeskrivningarna?- Finns det några likheter eller skillnader mellan programmen med avseende på deras tillämpning av kunskaper om skyddsfaktorers betydelse?En innehållsanalys av preventionsprogrammens egna material har genomförts utifrån två utvalda teman: preventionsprogrammens utformning och bakgrund samt skyddsfaktorer ? hur begreppet synliggörs och hur kunskaper används. Resultaten har därefter kopplats till tidigare forskning om barn och ungdomars skyddsfaktorer.

The purpose of this paper was to carry out and evaluate a pedagogic ICT-project, where the computer was implemented in art class. Focus was on the consequences of collaboration and also on the students? understanding of their own performance, compared to techniques in traditional art class.The study was qualitative and began with studies in literature. The contents of the literature are the foundation of the discussion, especially theories concerning the learning process, IT and computer-based learning. In the project, three different groups of students from upper secondary school attended and they where given tasks to solve in the image editing program Paint Shop Pro.

According to the basic values of the Swedish Trotting Association the horse and its welfare should always be held in highest consideration. One part of the animal welfare work in the organization is to ensure good horse management practices by controlling all active trainers through the local licensing committees situated at the Swedish racetracks. The Swedish Board of Agriculture stated that high quality animal welfare assurance programs used by the industry organizations can be used in the risk assessment of the official animal welfare control to make the official control work more effective and the ambition of the Swedish Trotting Association is to establish an animal welfare assurance program which may be approved by the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Racehorses are exposed to welfare hazards both in their management as well as during training and racing and factors like handling, training, feedstuff, stable environment, medication and the possibility to express natural behavior all affect the welfare of the horses. The aim of the project is to investigate and evaluate the animal welfare work performed by the licensing committees and to give advice on how to improve the industry?s animal welfare control.

Background The Shetland Sheepdog is a popular breed of dogs in Sweden. The breed is mostly used as a companion dog and is also popular within certain dog sports such as agility. The Shetland Sheepdog is not included in any breeding programs regarding joint health. The animal insurance company, Agria had recently informed the Swedish Shetland Sheepdog Club (SSSK) that they had noted an increasing number of arthritis in the elbow joints, therefore they wanted to exclude elbow joints from the insurance until SSSK started a breeding program against elbow dysplasia. After the start of this study Agria withdrew their demand, but the study went on as planned. Aims of this study The aims of this study was to investigate if there is any data that may show if there is a larger or smaller reason than before to suspect that the breed has a problem with elbow dysplasia and therefore would benefit from a breeding program regarding this.

Today it?s common that companies and organizations are facing several challenges and problems when it comes to making their IT-environment more efficient. Some of these are the management of user?s computers and file security. Comput-er users are often tied to their personal computer due to personal programs and files.

Changes in the climate and the environment are largely consequences of human influences. Resources are given to teach adults about the environment. However, there are problems in focusing on adults because it is difficult to influence people when they already have created a lifestyle. We have instead chosen to focus on teaching children about changes in the climate and the consequences of this.Many of the toys available on the market today encourage children to consume. Luxury cars and dolls with hundreds of accessories are often made of materials that has have a negative effect on the environment.Another problem we often encountered during the year is the declining interest in technology and science.

Skanska 21 is a student program for university students. The program runs for a year and a half parallel to university studies. It is aimed at those studying a few specific master engineering programs at Lund University, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Chalmers University of Technology or Luleå University of Technology. The program consists of a number of program meetings such as company presentations, a boarding school week, rhetoric training and project visits. The aim of the project is to evaluate the Skanska 21 student program.
