The purpose with our essay was to increase our knowledge about what social workers, with experience from working with drug addicts, perceive as the explanations to a person stopping the abuse and succeed in staying drug free. Our framing of the question was:- How do social workers define the term drug free?- How big a roll do the social worker believes she/he has in the process in which a person stops abusing drugs?- How do the social worker work with a person towards getting that person drug free?- What do the social worker believe to be the reason why a person stops abusing drugs?- What do the social worker perceive as helpful for a person to stay drug free?We did qualitative interviews with six social workers. Our main conclusion was that it is difficult to define the term drug free. The reason for stropping the drug abuse can vary, it can be the family situation, "hitting rock bottom", finding love or tiring.

A qualitative document analysis is used to answer the aim of this thesis that is to find out if the relation between the European Union and Belarus has changed from confrontational to reparational in between the two parliamentary elections that was held in the country in the years of 2004 and 2008. The study focuses on debates from the European parliament in association to the elections in Belarus to see if the rhetoric used in the debates have changed. It is found that the rhetoric used in the European parliament after the 2004 election in Belarus are extremely confrontational and the members of the debate expresses their thoughts of Belarus in a rather harsh way. It has also been found that the rhetoric used in the European parliament after the 2008 election in Belarus are more diplomatic and have the tendencies of a warmer relation to Belarus although there are still some confrontational views among the members..

Vi blev inspirerade av barnlitteraturens roll i skolan efter att ha tagit del av svenska regeringens undersökning Läsandets kultur (SOU 2012:65). Den tar upp den negativa utvecklingen av läsförståelse, läsning och intresse för litteratur bland barn och unga. Studiens syfte var att få fördjupad kunskap om lärares förhållningssätt till barnlitteraturens roll i undervisningen. Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkt var ett kulturellt förhållningsätt till lärande där dialog och samspel har stor betydelse. Vi använde oss av kvalitativa intervjuer, då vi ville få en djupare förståelse för lärares förhållningssätt och attityder till barnlitteraturen i undervisningen.

Bakgrund: Våld i nära relation är ett allvarligt och utbrett samhällsproblem. Våldsutsatta kvinnor kan söka hjälp överallt inom vården. Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att möta våldsutsatta kvinnor kan vara avgörande för identifiering och adekvat fortsatt vård. Syfte: Litteraturöversiktens syfte var att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att möta kvinnor som utsatts för våld i nära relation. Metod: Litteraturöversikt baserad på vetenskapliga artiklar sökta i databaserna PubMed och Cinhal.Totalt tolv kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar har kvalitetsgranskats, analyserats och sammanställts till ett resultat.

The purpose of this composition was to examine which international and Swedish laws exist to govern the protection of asylum seekers claiming persecution on the grounds of sexual orientation. Additionally I wanted to look at what the need for such a right to refuge would be based upon, i.e. why asylum seekers ought to be granted such protection. In order to fulfil my objectives I based my material on international and Swedish laws, comparing these to studies of what negative impact growing up and living as homosexual in an oppressed environment can have on the individual, psychologically and socially. To highlight and exemplify my material I used Iran as a case-study to reflect my facts upon.I found that there has been, and still seems to be a lack of interest in and commitment to the persecution of homosexuals around the world.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze how the Trojan prince Paris is described in the Iliad and in the movie Troy in regard to love and bravery. Thereafter an analysis of the similarities and differences between the Iliad and the movie Troy will be made. There will also be a discussion why there are differences between an epic story which was made for over two thousand years ago and a modern movie made in the twenty-first century. The differences will be based on the perspective ancient Greek culture versus filmmaking of the twenty-first century. The method that has been used is narrative analysis where the primary data, the Iliad and the movie Troy, have been interpreted.                        The Trojan prince Paris is described as a young, handsome man driven by his passion for Helen.

The purpose of our thesis has been to study Social Workers view of children?s needs and how they work with children?s needs when they are orphaned because of HIV/Aids in South Africa. The question formulations we used to answer our purpose are:? What needs do the Social Workers consider the children to have?? How do the Social Workers work with children?s needs?We have a qualitative methodological approach in the thesis, where we have performed four interviews with four Social Workers on different organizations in and around Cape Town, South Africa. The presentation of the empirics is made as a summary with representative quotations, which we have interweaved with earlier research and theoretical conceptions.

This paper deals primarily with the developmental potential and use of court -based mediation in Swedish law, and its relation to court-based conciliation and the judicial procedure as means to end a conflict.  In Chapter 42, Section 17 of the Swedish Code of Judicial Procedure, a judge, before the parties have their main hearing, can act as a mediator between the parties to settle the dispute. The judge should, according to the law, always try to make the parties come to an agreement before the main hearing. This obligation can be fulfilled either through the use of court-based conciliation, or court based mediation. Mediation as such is rarely used in Sweden, and one of the goals of this essay is to try to provide a tentative answer to why that might be the case.  The second goal is to try to find a consistent, yet flexible notion, of the concept of ?jurisdiction?, and to provide an explanation for the relation between mediation as an alternative method for dispute resolution and the judicial procedure.                                                                                                                                            .

Bakgrund: Kvinnosynen har genom åren förändrats från att kvinnan inte hade rätt att bestämma över sin egen kropp eller sig själv tills att hon idag ses som en självständig individ. Det har medfört förändrad lagstiftning, kvinnan ska nu vara jämlik mannen i alla förhållanden. I Sverige misshandlas årligen 20 000 kvinnor i en nära relation men mörkertalet uppskattas till hela 75 procent. Det psykiska och fysiska våldet orsakar de utsatta kvinnorna stort lidande och samhället enorma kostnader. Socialstyrelsen menar att vårdpersonal har svårigheter att möta dessa kvinnor på grund av för lite kunskap inom området.Syfte: Att belysa kvinnors subjektiva livsvärld av våld i en nära relation.Metod: Självbiografistudie med kvalitativ ansats för att studera kvinnors livsvärld i en nära relation med våld.

Since reading difficulties is a growing problem in Society and a problem that hinders Children to take an active part in every day life, I wanted to investigate how the School Library can be an educational resource for students with reading difficulties. Using qualitative interviews, I have gained insight into how three school librarians and two teachers work with Students with reading difficulties at two different Schools.The Respondents feel that they have the Knowledge necessary to work with students with reading difficulties, but Wish they had more Resources in terms of Time and Staff to help Students achieve School Goals even better. There are always new assistive technology for Students with Reading Difficulties, and an important part of the Educational work of the School Library, is to be informed of the Facilities available and how they work. I show, in my Research the importance of cooperation between school libraries and teachers to provide the students with reading difficulties the love of reading and work to promote reading. It is important that the School Librarian is an integral part of the School's Team to take full advantage of every opportunity to help the Reading Impaired Students with Information and finding the right Reading Level.

Introduktion: Mäns våld mot kvinnor är ett vanligt samhällsproblem i de flesta länder. Forskning har visat att de flesta kvinnorna till slut lämnar en våldsam relation. Dock stannar en stor del av kvinnorna i våldsamma relationer fastän våldet kan ha pågått en längre tid. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva vad som påverkar en kvinnas beslut att stanna i en våldsam nära relation. Metod: Metoden som användes var litteraturstudie. Datainsamlingen utfördes genom en systematisk sökning av databaserna PsycInfo och PubMed. Resultat: Fyra stycken teman framkom vid analysen: Kvinnors rädsla och känslor av skuld och skam, där framförallt rädsla kan vara en faktor som håller kvinnorna kvar i relationen. Kvinnors känslor och upplevelse av mannens beteende, i synnerhet tycks kvinnors starka känslor för männen samt deras förmåga att förlåta mannens beteende ha stor betydelse för beslutet.

Vi avser inte att med våra respektive studier täcka upp ett specifikt intresseområde utan har istället riktat in oss på olika aspekter och områden av ungas liv, vilka i sig innefattar specifika teman värdefulla att undersöka. India is home to every sixth person in the world, some 30 million dogs and a quarter of the total world cattle population. A vast majority of Indians are Hindus, and even though the Hindu religion proclaims love, nurturing and worshipping of animals, sometimes the same religion constitutes an obstacle for animal welfare in practice. This paper investigates the significance of historic and religious symbols to the way animals are perceived in modern Indian society, as well as the different social factors which underlie attitudes to animals. The concept of karma, as well as that of good versus bad deaths, is probably the foundation of the general Hindu reluctance to euthanasia in any form. Although in theory all species are generally regarded as equal in Hinduism, in practice there seems to be a differentiation; for cultural, religious, medical and financial reasons.

Bakgrund: Vid forskningsgenomgång framkom det i internationell forskning att det finns kunskap om sjuksköterskans arbetsbelastning, om stressfaktorer på arbetsplatsen och dess negativa påverkan på sjuksköterskans hälsa. Sjuksköterskan upplever en stark arbetsrelaterad stress, där tidspress och hög arbetsbelastning är återkommande fenomen på akutvårdsavdelningar. En kunskapsbrist råder kring sjuksköterskans upplevda hälsa, specifikt i relation till hennes upplevda möjlighet att ge god omvårdnad. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka sjuksköterskans upplevda hälsa i relation till hennes upplevda möjlighet att ge god omvårdnad i en akutvårdskontext. Metod: Enkätundersökning av empirisk deskriptiv design med kvantitativ ansats.

In this study I examine the representation of masculinity in the manga, Naruto. The manga is about the orphan Naruto, who, together with other children goes to a ninja school. Boys and girls study and practice together, at first sight seemingly without emphasized gender differences. As the story continues, the gender differences are, however, quite obvious and to the boys advantage.I find the difference between Naruto and other popular culture ususally presented to pre-bubertal and teenage boys to be considerable. Whereas the domination of women and the message that you can get as far as you wish, are common in American and west produced popular culture as well as in Naruto, the difference lies in how the success is achieved. The men in Naruto reach their goals by allowing their feelings to be seen and expressed.
