This report is focusing on problems with introducing standard enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) in businesses. A study has been carried out on a service and support department at a Swedish heat metering company, SVM North Node. The study aims to help the company become a better customer in choice and customization of a new ERP system. We make a description of the department studied and the work carried out there, on the basis of learning, knowledge and cooperation. As a final point we present some ideas on how computer systems could support their work, hoping that this will result in them making adequate demands on a new ERP system.

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is a transport protocol designed for the wired Internet. In wireless networks packet losses occur more frequently due to the unreliability of the physical link. The main problem is that TCP treats all losses as congestion, which leads to a lower throughput. Ad hoc networks are multihop wireless networks of mobile nodes, where each node can allow other packets to pass through it. Topology changes often occur and may lead to packet losses and delays, which TCP misinterprets as congestion.

Eftersom den operativa miljön och också syftet med det militära maktmedlet i viktiga avseenden är särskiljande vid stabiliseringsoperationer, i jämförelse med reguljär krigföring, innebär detta att även anpassningsbehoven för logistiken förändras.Syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera hur logistik kan utformas vid stabiliseringsoperationer, för att därefter teoretiskt bidra till en logistik som är anpassad för de generiska dragen i denna typ av operativ miljö.Empirin till studien är framtagen från västerländska operativa och taktiska stabiliseringsdoktriner och teorin är hämtad från Moshe Kress Operational Logistics. Analysen genomförs med ett logistiksystems operationaliserade kriterier, och redovisar de framträdande anpassningsbehoven för varje skede i operationen.Resultatet visar att det framträdande behovet är att säkerställa kontinuitet i flödet, vilket förutsätter operativ flexibilitet. Undantaget är Secure-skedet där tillgänglighet, som i sin tur förutsätter överlevnadsförmåga, är det framträdande för att optimera logistiksystemet. The purpose of this project is to study Partab's material distribution process, furthermore identify critical problem areas within the company. Further the aim is to provide suggestions to new work procedures regarding material distribution and related processes. Appropriate literature has been used as a support in this process. The main goal of a commercial company is to generate cash flow, and maximize the return on investment. Streamlining material supply and the use of material is a part of this process. Virum and Persson define logistics as: "Logistics is the approach and principles founding the process of planning, development, coordination, organisation, management, and control of material distribution from supplier to user".

Internet grows, so it?s cracking, soon will all IPv4 addresses be allocated and a solution is urgently needed. The new protocol, IPv6 is the solution to this problem. With a size of 128 bits against IPv4s 32 bits gives IPv6 a huge amount of addresses to distribute. The security addition that may be added manually in IPv4 is the standard with the new protocol.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera ett tredjepartslogistiskt samarbete mellan en vinimportör och dennes distributör utifrån importörens perspektiv. Arbetet avser att lyfta fram vilken typ av relation som finns dem emellan. För att finna svaren till vår undersökning har frågor skapats utifrån valda teorier om partnerskap, samverkan och riskhantering. Frågorna har sedan ställts till personer som arbetar hos både vinimportören och distributören. Spontana samtal och en observation har genomförts i kontorsmiljön hos vinimportören.

Green Cargo är den största aktören för godstransporter på järnväg i Sverige. Dotterbolaget Road&Logistics erbjuder kombinerade transporter bestående av järnväg och lastbil. Järnvägen utnyttjas för de långväga transporterna och lastbilarna för slingtrafiken. Med hjälp av crossdockingterminaler samlastas även gods från olika lastbärare till en enhet. Detta för att optimera kapacitetsutnyttjandet, vilket ger synergieffekter i form av miljövinster och sänkta kostnader.

I arbetet jämförs kommunikation i Ajax med kommunikation i Websockets som är en äldre respektive nyare teknik som används vid realtidsbaserade applikationer. Två applikationer skapas som används för att mäta bandbreddskonsumtion samt nätverksfördröjning beroende på parametrarna datastorlek och uppdateringsfrekvens, som i kombination förväntas påverka mätresultaten. Syftet är att hitta samband mellan parametrarna för att visa vid vilka typer av applikationer Websocket lönar sig bäst och därmed ge understöd för beslut om migration från den gamla tekniken Ajax till den nyare tekniken Websockets.Resultatet av arbetet visar att kommunikation med låg datastorlek per anrop leder till störst vinst med Websockets samt att Websockets oavsett datastorlek eller uppdateringsfrekvens är betydligt bättre än Ajax. För framtida arbete förväntas främst undersöka hur även antalet samtida uppkopplade användare kan påverka resultatet..

This report is the result of a thesis performed at Westermo Industrial Ltd with its headquarters in Stora Sundby and it sums up the author's studies for University Engineering in Innovation, Production and Logistics at Mälardalen University.The main goal of the thesis was to identify problems and suggest actions that lead to the reduction of the repair time from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. The key questions that were answered in order to achieve the thesis objectives are: What are the biggest challenges that make the repair process time last for 3 weeks? What are the necessary means and measures in order to reduce the repair length to 2 weeks? The author adjusted the work to the Swedish repairs, repair issues that arise from sell unit Westermo Data Communications AB with its office in Västerås and performed the status report by mapping the repair process, through using observations, interviews and bibliography research studies. A flow map of four sub-processes (Inbound Delivery, BackOffice, Repair Department, and Logistics) was made and each section was observed, where also the employees were interviewed. Data that has been collected was analysed by the author and the decision to execute a workshop that affects Repair Department and Logistics was made.

The goal of this master thesis is to show the benefit of using computer games of the type First Person Shooter, FPS in the field of military simulations. The main focus in this is around a couple of topics. Creating the AI that controls the behaviour of the computer-controlled characters, the bots. Create an environment where it is possible to supervise the bots and also design a framework that enables cooperation between a group of bots, a squad. The result is Total Unreal Studio, TUS, a program where it is possible to add bots to a squad, connect them to a game server and inspect what the bots are doing.
