This Masters thesis in Library and Information Science has the title The New Information Desks at Malmö Public Library . During the rebuilding of the library in Malmö a new information desk was developed. This desk differs to a great extent from conventional information desks used in libraries. The information desk is triangular with rounded edges which allows the librarian and the user of the library to work side by side without any physical barriers. The aim of this thesis is to explore the requirements for the information desks formulated by the library and how they are perceived by the librarians and the users of the library.

The purpose of this thesis is to collect knowledge of techniques and materials for planning roofgardens. Gardens built on top of buildings is not a new phenomenon, already in the beginning of the century architects were experimenting with roofgardens. During the Modern Era roofgardens appeared as a part of the design and worked well together with flat roofs and the ideas of light, air and greenery. Today the most common kind of roofgarden is on a ground-level joist that hides parking or other underground functions. The most important difference between planning a roofgarden and a garden on the ground is the limitation of the load of the roofgarden. Plants, paving-material and equipment must be chosen with this in mind. A light and thin layer of soil demands plants with small needs for water and nutrition.

This thesis examines the municipalities of Västra Götaland and the way they are prepared for crisis communication towards people with a foreign background. Over the past years there have been several studies that have examined the issue of crisis communications towards minorities but these are often focused on the target group. In this study, I focus on the authorities' actions. The theoretical approach is primarily an intersectional one and in this way the thesis is centred on the creation of different categories, the relationship between these categories and the possibilities working with these at the municipalities.On behalf of Region Västra Götaland, this investigation began with a survey that went out to the communications officers in charge of the crisis communication in each municipality. The ambition was to clarify the preparedness of each one and show how they relate to one another.

I have also read the Commission of Inquiry's recommendation according abolishing the law regarding the compulsory nation and student union membership. Sammanfattning Detta examensarbete är ett planeringsprojekt i Helsingfors. Planområdet är ett verkstadsområde för de statliga järnvägarna i Finland, VR. Här har man byggt och reparerat tåg under ett sekel. Planområdet är aktuellt som förnyelseområde då de ursprungliga verksamheterna successivt minskat. De har lämnat en rad byggnader efter sig som varierar i storlek, material och ålder.

The result of this work is a plan for the development of an 1128 m2 elderly raised garden. The purpose has been to create an overall plan covering the long-term development of the garden. The work process has covered a description of the garden of today, review of requirements, analysis of the garden sections, design of a new plan as well as starting the construction of the new garden. The plan covers a time period of a couple of years to create the new garden since the construction work is carried out during spare time with small resources available. The planning must contain review of functions such as protection from insight, eating area and compost area. Also the esthetic expression must be planned. Colors, shapes, choice of material and plants together make up the esthetic expression. It is recommended to include anything you wish to create in the garden. In a raised garden one has to overcome the step to remove trees and shrubs and think different.

The discussion regarding international aid tends to be highly debated for long periods of time. Some individuals are very positive towards aid and some individuals are less positive towards aid. This study aims to broaden the understanding of the aspects behind that. The previous research tends to focus on aid allocation within the EU, or which macro factors could influence which donor countries give to which recipient countries. This study aims to add to the research with which aspects at the individual level can influence the individual's attitude towards international aid from the EU.

My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

Det är ingen enkel process att ge sig in i en okänd framtid. Inom den fysiska planeringen är det betydelsefullt att göra långsiktiga studier och bedömningar som rör mark-, vatten- och naturresurser för att skapa en rimlig avvägning mellan olika anspråk på nyttjande och bevarande. Fysisk planering är till stor del en kommunal fråga, men samtidigt är det allt fler planeringsfrågor som behöver ses i ett regionalt, nationellt eller transnationell perspektiv. Det verkar vara hög tid för nationell framtid. De institutionella förutsättningarna som behövs för fysisk planering på en nationell nivå saknas i Sverige och något sammanhållet nationellt dokument har inte heller utarbetats. Eftersom de nordiska länderna utgår från liknande grundförhållande både vad gäller gleshet och avstånd mellan städer, naturförutsättningar samt befolkningsutveckling väcktes mitt intresse att studera hur man framförallt i norden arbetar med nationella dokument.

Mycket av vårt lands mest högklassiga jordbruksmarker finns i Skåne. Samtidigt befinner sig många skånska kommuner i expansiva faser och behovet av nya bostäder är stort. Städernas behov av utveckling och expansion och bevarandet av landsbygd och jordbruksmark kommer då ofta i konflikt. Jordbruksmarken är en ändlig resurs, som är viktig för mänskligheten genom bland annat livsmedelsförsörjning, förnyelsebara tillgångar och för de naturliga ekosystems funktioner, men även för människornas behov av rekreation. I Miljöbalken benämns jordbruk vara av nationell betydelse.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur Eskilstunas centrala stadstorg, Fristadstorget, kan bli mer inbjudande och attraktivt då det idag råder en vedertagen syn bland medborgare och kommun att torget inte är inbjudande nog. Torget brukas inte i den utsträckning som stadens publika vardagsrum kan och bör göras. För att möjliggöra en ökad användning och uppskattning bör torget omvandlads, och det flexibelt. Arbetet är indelat i tre huvuddelar som leder fram till ett gestaltningsförslag vilket konkretiserar hur Fristadstorget kan göras både flexibelt samt inbjuda till en mer vardaglig användning då den flexibla ytan inte fylls av ytkrävande evenemang. Öppna och omöblerade platser har sällan någon dragningskraft och alstrar inte folkliv och attraktivitet, därav uppstår problematik i planeringen av stortorg för de dagar flexibiliteten inte nyttjas fullt ut. Arbetet är en fallstudie som belyser det generella genom att se till det enskilda fallet för att ge svar på varför det efterfrågade i undersökningen inträffar (brist på attraktivitet och låg användning).

SammanfattninSammanfattning I många städer lägger industrier ner eller flyttar ut från stan. Detta medför att gamla hamnområden blir lediga och kan omvandlas. De blir istället nya attraktiva bostadsområden och populära platser för stadens invånare att röra sig i. Ån Nissan som flyter genom Halmstad delar staden i en västlig och östlig del. Den upplevs idag mer som en barriär än som en tillgång för staden. Kommunen har påbörjat arbetet med att ?vända? staden mot Nissan, men det finns mycket kvar att göra. I arbetet delar jag in Nissan i tre steg där jag först tittar mer övergripande på området runt Nissan från Frennarp i norr till hamnen i söder.

There is no further training in management in teacher education programs, which can create uncertainty among teachers in terms of management. According to the curriculum, the teacher should base it on a democratic approach, but how does it look in real life? The purpose has been to investigate how practicing teachers perceived management and their own leadership style, whether they made conscious choices and if so, whether they then had any purpose in their leadership style. Teachers' views of a good leader and how much influence students have on the teaching, enter into these issues.The survey is based on a qualitative research approach, based on interviews with four active teachers. Although observations were made they did not play any major role in this investigation.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka hur fysisk aktivitet i urbana rum förhåller sig till könsstereotypa föreställningar och underliggande strukturer. Uppsatsen ämnar även diskutera om det föreligger risk för att planering av fysisk aktivitet i urbana rum reproducerar könsstereotypa föreställningar och underliggande strukturer. Uppsatsens problemformulering lyder: ?Hur förhåller sig föreställningar om genus till fysisk aktivitet i det urbana rummet??. För att besvara denna utformas uppsatsen som en litteraturstudie där två avhandlingar om fysisk aktivitet i urbana rum studeras genom en innehållsanalys. De avhandlingar som studeras är Bäckströms avhandling Spår.
