The purpose of this study was to investigate how three Swedish news publications writes about integration and immigrants. The news articles were analyzed with a rhetorical analysis. The method was supplemented with theories of media and ethnicity, agenda setting theory and gatekeeping theory. This study resulted in the conclusion that racist discourses are found in the three news publications, regardless of political color, writer or article genre. Many of the articles makes a clear division of "us and them", where "them" is defined by the text's "us", who are often Swedes.

This report addresses the management innovation and how shared leadership is a form of it. The report is a compilation of what shared leadership means and how two municipal organizations works with shared leadership. The two minicipal organizations are Strängnäs and Vällingby. One municipality (Strängnäs) is meanwhile this report produced during insertion of shared leadership. The other (Vällingby) has about two years experience of working with this form of leadership.

Equal opportunity issues are considered to have a clear position in Swedish policy and the making of Swedish gender policy is considered a precursor. Though many experts and scientists have shed light on the fact that the issue of women assault has had a less stable development than other gender issues such as child care, the labour market etc. within the Swedish society, and that it does not attract the wide political support it needs. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the Municipalities', in the county of Kronoberg, policy on the issue of women assault within their local policies of equality. In my thesis I have chosen a theoretical framework that is built on a dilemma of justice based on three different dimensions; the extent, content and influence of the local policies.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utröna om idrottslärarna i ämnet Idrott och hälsa i Gävle stad, på gymnasial nivå, blir pressade till att sätta ett högre betyg än det eleven har kunskaper för och om de ger efter för denna press och sätter ett högre betyg. Undersökningen har gjorts med hjälp av kvantitativ enkät med inslag av en kvalitativ fråga. Resultatet visade att 16 av 17 lärare har blivit utsatta för påtryckningar att sätta ett ?snällt? betyg. Fyra av dessa gav efter för pressen och satte ett ?snällt? betyg.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to describe and analyse the origin and development of the libraries in the town of Värnamo, between the years 1908 and 1960, when a new modern public library was inaugurated. The method I have used is, to a great extent, examining and analysing source material from the archive of the municipality in Värnamo and the popular movement in Jönköping. As a background to my study I describe the development of the Swedish society, from the end of the nineteenth-, until the middle of the twentieth century. I also describe the local development of Värnamo, during the same period. Furthermore I also give a general description of the progress of the libraries in Sweden during the same time.

The topic of this essay is information seeking for children and young people in municipal libraries. This is based in the growing need for information seeking skills in the Information Society. Policy documents on the topic are scrutinized and related to a concrete praxis. Data has been collected through two case studies; one carried out in Ronneby and one in Trandared, Borås. These cases where chosen because of the existence of a local policy for library skills and information search for 6 to 12-year-olds.

Businesses role in society is changing. Corporations are expected to take responsibility, not only for their traditional business conduct, but also for social and political issues. A rise in globalization and international trade has led to an increased interest in the concept of CSR. Accordingly, stakeholders are expecting multinational companies to be accountable for existing issues in developing countries. New business models are needed to meet increased expectations of responsibility and shared value creation. Based on an understanding of the need for new business models a multinational corporation is studied in a local context, where a radically new way of doing business is developed.

Bakgrund: Den psykiska ohälsan hos unga flickor har ökat drastiskt och förändringar i miljöer där ungdomar befinner sig kan vara en anledning till denna ökning. Media har stor inverkan på människor då vi dagligen exponeras i form av internet, sociala medier, TV och press. I dagens samhälle ligger stort fokus på hälsa och kroppsförändring vilket måga ungdomar vill sträva efter. Syfte: Att undersöka medias beskrivning av rådande kroppsideal och dess påverkan på unga flickor i åldern 13-25 år. Metod:  Detta var en litteraturstudie med tematisk metod och databaserna som användes för att hitta artiklar var PubMed och Psycinfo. Utefter de resultaten som hittades framkom tre teman. Resultat: Medias tunna kroppsideal kan bidra till att unga flickor får sämre självkänsla och ångest och kan leda till depression och ätstörningar. Kroppsuppfattningen visade sig vara sämst under tonåren och att jämföra sig med andra och känna press från omgivningen var ett vanligt förekommande.

The current field of research concerning the impact of railroads in Sweden beside from the State main-line network is relatively narrow. Including cultural impact to the area narrows the results even further. The purpose of this study is to open the field even more into the local societies and to what extent the impact of the introduction of railroad might have had on smaller county villages. Sweden holds a unique position concerning ?station towns? or ?railways towns? in terms of railway policy and the industrial development in towns that were affected by the railway, as the affected towns continued development were based on a hybrid between direct democracy and adaptations of city-law policies.This study takes place in Kisa, a small town in southern Östergötland that during the beginning of the 20th century turned into a municipal community due to the building of Östra centralbanan (roughly translated Eastern central-line).

Sammanfattning Detta arbete har som syfte att ge förslag på hur man kan använda sig av Malmös parker i undervisningen med tonvikt vid historia och med utgångspunkt i den offentliga grönskan. Metoderna jag använt mig av har varit litteraturstudier av olika slag samt föreläsningar, samtal och grupparbete under kursen Stadens historia på Malmö Högskola samt studiebesök på Malmö stadsarkiv och stadsbibliotek. Vidare redovisas stöd för tanken att arbeta utifrån parkerna lokalhistoriskt i styrdokumenten och inom historiedidaktiken. En modell för hur man kan använda parken som ett pedagogiskt redskap presenteras samt en förteckning över litteratur innehållande olika övningar och uppgifter att använda i samband med parkbesöken..

This case study explores the question of implementation and steering in a society of governance. As an empirical example, a reform concerning the reception of separated refugee children in Sweden is used. As of the 1st of July 2006 the responsibility for providing housing for separated children lies with the local governments rather than with the Swedish Board of Migration, aiming to improve the children's situation. However, implementing this amendment has turned out to be a harder task than expected. Traditionally, the relationship between state and local actors is seen in terms of state steering or local self-government.

Det Intellektuella kapitalet (IC) är en viktig innovation som presenterats inom ekonomistyrningsområdet och består av ett företags human- och strukturkapital, även kallat immateriella tillgångar. Genombrottet kring IC kom 1995 då Skandia och Leif Edvinsson, direktör hos Skandia av det intellektuella kapitalet, för första gången i världen redovisade IC som ett tillägg i sin årsredovisning. Diffusion av innovationer som IC nås ut till samhället via olika kanaler. Även fast IC anses vara en potentiell stark metod kan det diskuteras att det endast handlar om ett fashion eller fad inom ekonomistyrningen, det vill säga en relativt övergående innovation. Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och förklara diffusionen av intellektuellt kapital inom allmän svensk press.

Introduction: A complex interaction between muscles, tendons, bones, joints and nerves are required for optimal function of the human hand. It is known that an individual?s grip strength is vital for performance of physical demanding tasks such as strength training with free weights. Strength training including a thicker grip around the bar may enhance the strength of the grip in the athlete without other special routines for grip strength development. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the difference in performance in multiple repetitions in two strength training exercises using two different sizes on the bar, to look for correlations between grip strength of the subjects hand and the amount of repetitions executed with two different size of the bar and finally the correlation of hand size and the amount of repetitions executed with two different size of the bar.Method: 15 strength training men (23,9 ± 4,1 years), underwent measurements of hand size, maximum grip strength, 1 repetition maximum (1RM), a 80 % of 1RM weight strength test with two different  bar sizes.Results: The results from the present investigation indicates a 21,1 % reduction of 80 % of 1 RM weight performance in repetitions executed in the bench press with the thicker diameter of the bar and a 66,2 % reduction in repetitions executed with a 80 % of 1 RM weight in the lying bench row with the thicker diameter of the bar.
