Urban planning in Sweden goes back to a prolonged tradition, and even since the beginning of the 16th century there´s been general plans for urban planning for cities in Sweden.Nowadays every municipality has a directive from the government to establish or re-new the general master plan covering the whole municipality every 4th year.The aim of this paper is to illustrate and shed light on the extent for the planning document and guidelines, and how they change from every active period and in what extent the provisional planning reaches its visions regarding the outcome of the actual city growth. This study was completed by studying the position of every apartment building that?s been constructed for the chosen area over the years of 2000 - 2014 and draw comparisons between the current master plan main visions regarding constructions ? and comparing the two separate visions to pin out the differences in the same subject.The result shows that there are some deviations from the plans but not as much as one would have thought in the city growth, and some deviations from the different planning documents. Some of the deviations was greater than others but overall the visions was about the same..

The development aid from Sweden to developing countries is a activity thatinvolves a great deal of monetary founds as well as an opportunity to influence the environmental situation in a partner country. It´s also an opportunity to promote Sweden's values in a field like the environment, setting a good example is important. This thesis aims to evaluate Sida´s environmental policy and find out if there in fact is a Environmental Policy Integration Policy (EPI) taking place. EPI is a policyimplementation theory that emphasise the importance of the total integration of the environmental in the organisation as a whole. Grönstruktur och parker har betydelse för livsmiljön i en stad. Urbana trädgårdar och informell påverkan på grönstrukturen är en allt mer vanlig syn i städer. Ofta tar dessa verksamheter mark i anspråk utan att ägandeskap föreligger men rätten till marken kan med tiden förändras. Uppsatsen undersöker vilka motiv som ligger bakom initiativ till urbana trädgårdar genom fyra fallstudier i Berlin. Intervjuer med initiativtagare och deltagare undersöker om de urbana trädgårdarna är mötesplatser, hur de upplevs påverka sin omgivning och varför informanterna väljer att tillbringa tid i trädgårdarna.

This thesis analyzes the effects of different fertilization strategies on forest management at Holmen Skog in Umeå district. Harvesting volumes, net present values and fertilization intensity are presented for each fertilization scenario. The planning reserve (percentage area older than minimum final felling age) was also analyzed in this study.The thesis covers the analysis of five different fertilization scenarios, varying in fertilization intensity, from no fertilization at all, to fertilization at every harvesting operation (thinning or final felling). A sub-study was also carried out so the reader in detail can see how the different fertilization scenarios affect individual forest stands of different nature. The analysis has been done with the planning tool PlanWise, which is an application of the Heureka analysis and planning system.

Bakgrunden till denna uppsats grundas i ett egenintresse i förvandlingen av stationshuset i Vara. Sedan jag genom mina föräldrar som bor kvar i orten, på tidig vår 2010 fick reda på att huset skulle bli korallrött har detta numer blåa konstverk retat mig. Detta kandidatarbete har gett mig möjligheten att på ett vetenskaplig sätt utröna bakomliggande orsaker till stationshusets förvandling till det Vara kallar, Sveriges största konstverk. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda hur den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av byggnader vilka klassas som konstverk bör regleras enligt Plan- och Bygglagen och vilken roll kulturell planering spelar i den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av den offentliga miljön. Genom två olika typer av fallstudier har tre olika konstverksprojekt studerats och analyserats utifrån inventeringar, observationer, intervjuer och innehållsanalys om bland annat begreppen byggnad, estetik och konstverk. Problematiken i lagtextens definition av vad som är estetiskt tilltalande beror mestadels på att det är ett mycket svårdefinierat begrepp till skillnad från vad en byggnad och ett konstverk är.

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att undersöka vad forskningen säger om trygghet i den fysiska miljön. Vidare är syftet att undersöka hur Stockholms stad förhåller sig till denna forskning genom sina två ansökningar till Boverket om stöd för trygghetsprojekt. Arbetet har utgått från två teoretiska perspektiv - social brottsprevention och situationell brottsprevention. Undersökningen har skett genom metoden kvalitativ innehållsanalys, som använts för att analysera de två ansökningarna ?Trygg i Trekantsparken? och ?Trygga samband över Järvafältet?. Resultatet visar att forskningen om trygghet i den fysiska miljön är nyanserad.

Detta examensarbete på kandidatnivå i Fysisk Planering på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola är en studie av översiktsplanering över kustzonen. Syftet med uppsatsen att identifiera svårigheter och möjligheter med kustzonsplanering inom översiktsplaneringen genom att utifrån teorin analysera hur ett antal valda kommuner arbetar med kustzonsplaneringen och dess frågor i respektive översiktsplan med utgångspunkt i frågeställningen som lyder följande: ? Hur behandlas kustzonsplanering i översiktsplaneringen hos kommunerna? ? På vilket sätt tillvaratas relevanta miljömål, riksintressen och lagstiftning i kommunernas kustzonsplanering enligt översiktsplanerna? ? Vilka planeringsfrågor hanteras på översiktlig nivå inom kustzonsplanering? Fallstudien består av en analys av Blekinge Läns fyra kustkommuner Karlskrona kommun, Ronneby kommun, Karlshamns kommun och Sölvesborgs kommun. Analysen utgår från forskningsfrågorna. För att få en bakgrund och ett stöd till fallstudien har ett teorikapitel utarbetats.

?Ecosystem services are the ecosystems direct and indirect contributions of ecosystems to human well-being.? In order to reach the generation target and the environmental objectives it is important to increase the awareness of biodiversity and ecosystem services and it?s importance to human welfare and simultaneously highlighting the value of ecosystem services. The value of ecosystem services should be integrated into economic standpoints, political considerations and other decisions in the society. In today?s society there is a problem concerning that the value of ecosystem services are not considered in economic terms, which can result in solutions that are unfavorable for our welfare (Ministry of Environment, 2012).

When discussing local development attention is often given to the problems involved. Factors like decreasing population and inadequate infrastructure are two examples. Local politics has, however, lately been argued to have possibilities to affect its own development and its chances to achieve growth. Some of the most important factors from this debate are to make a community attractive for people and companies, committed leadership, the local business world with entrepreneurialism and a good business climate. These factors serve as a starting point for this discussion where focus is on the possibilities to achieve growth on the local level and the politics that is used for this purpose.To illustrate the chances to affect local growth I apply the theoretical perspective of regime theory and thereby examine the governing coalitions "power to" govern and not "power over" as the earlier theoretical perspectives in the area.

Who is responsible for youth policy implementation?This thesis attempts to deepen our understanding of Swedish and Nordic youth policy. Youth policy is cross-sectoral and includes all the decisions and measures affecting the conditions of young people. National youth policy therefore concerns young people's life situations in a number of different areas, such as work, housing, education, health, leisure and influence. The purpose of the study is to increase the knowledge of youth policy work the last century by understanding the impact of youth research concerning adults' role in youth policy implementation. A mixed method approach has been applied to the study: interviews, documents and youth theory have been analysed.

Examensarbetet formulerar förutsättningar för ett samtida stationssamhälle utifrån utvecklingen av stationssamhällen utefter järnvägsdragningarna på 1800-talet och dagens förutsättningar. Arbetet är indelat i fem delar. Den första beskriver uppkomsten och utvecklingen av stationssamhällen fram till idag. I del 2 beskrivs det samtida stationssamhället utifrån historien och dagens förutsättningar. Beskrivningen utgår ifrån de tre ledorden som är viktiga i utformningen av samhället; rörelse, mötesplats, blandning.

Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att beskriva den befolkningsutveckling som pågår i Sveriges gles- och landsbygder samt att sammanställa metoder från forskning och beprövad erfarenhet som används för att motverka en negativ befolkningsutveckling. Den generella befolkningsutvecklingen i Sverige speglas sedan i Rävemåla, som är en tätortsnära landsbygdsort i Tingsryd kommun, för att undersöka om orten har följt samma bana som befolkningsutvecklingen gjort i Sverige och vilka metoder som används och kan användas för att försöka nå en positiv utveckling. Tingsryds kommun och Rävemåla tätort lider båda av en negativ befolkningsutveckling och en åldrande befolkning. Den mest använda metoden för att nå en positiv utveckling är marknadsföring, vilket är den mest använda metoden i riket för att öka befolkning.

The thesis has two purposes. First, to give a practical insight into the challenges that Swedish companies might face, and how these challenges are tackled, when implementing strategy in a local area. Second, to develop a general applicable model as a conceptual contribution to the field of international strategy implementation in local areas. This empirical-driven thesis is written in a qualitative and explorative approach, where abduction is adopted in order to find mysteries and contribute to the forming of new theories. The empirical foundation is twenty-two interviews and observations of three large Swedish companies.

This study represents the different factors that may have an influence on the budgetproposal in the local government for the revision. The revision in the local government is an important part of councillors and public insight into the different activities. The budget for revision decides how much of the activities runned by the local government can be observed by the elected representative accountant. The aim of the study is to see how the following variable affect the dimension of the budget appointed for revision. During the last decades the Swedish local party systems have gone through some considerable changes. The number of parties present in local party systems have increased and in some cases even doubled. This makes coalition building between parties complex and parties will be forced to rethink their coalition strategies and adjust to the new circumstances. Theoretically, coalition building has often been considered and applied to national data and there have been just a few attempts to develop and theoretically explain coalitions on a local level. Thus the aim of this paper is to use different theoretical approaches to local data to test the significance of traditional coalition theories.
