Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att se om presbyopin, det vill säga minskningen av ackommodationsamplitud, utvecklas likadant i båda ögonen. Syftet var även att se om en ojämn addition i vissa fall gav bättre subjektiv respons än en binokulär jämn addition.Metod: Studien innefattade 33 deltagare där samtliga var mellan 43-57 år. Med hjälp av en RAF-stav mättes den monokulära ackommodationsamplituden för höger och vänster öga med push-up/push-down metoden. Utöver detta gjordes en binokulär och en monokulär additionsbestämning. Skilde sig resultaten åt från dessa additionsbestämningar fick deltagaren bestämma vilken styrka som subjektivt gav bäst upplevda synskärpa.Resultat: Resultaten visade att 11 deltagare hade en skillnad >0,25 D i ackommodationsamplitud mellan ögonen.

Background: Hypochondriasis is associated with marked impairments in physical and psychological functioning, work performance and increased health care utilization. The prevalence among medical outpatients is estimated to be between 4,2 % and 6,3 %. Notwithstanding there is deficient research in this area. Until recently no specific treatment has been clearly demonstrated to be effective. Objective: The aim was to investigate experiences of what it is like to live with hypochondriasis, but also to examine different treatment options.

Assessment is considered one of the most important tools used today by people in almost everything they do and learn. This also applies to school, where assessment is considered as a constant companion to teaching and used in order to develop students' learning and skills. Assessment is also an educational necessity which has different purposes and therefore different consequences.                                                                                                                        The idea of ??this thesis was on the basis of the interviewed teacher's perspective to investigate what role the formative assessment has on the development of pupils' learning and knowledge in mathematics for primary education, and explore how the teacher can, according to my informants, work with this assessment practice in the classroom so that it promotes the learning of the students in the best possible way.                                                                To carry out this study, I used qualitative research studies, the interview method, and also talked to five different teachers in the lower school ages on their view at the work of the formative assessment. Theoretical basis of the thesis is also based on the research that says that the assessment can be used to promote student learning and knowledge, but also the teacher's learning?s in the educational process: assessment can and should be an assessment for learning.

En kommunikativ kompetens förutsätter en förmåga att kunna uttrycka sig muntligt och skriftligt och denna studie fokuserar på den muntliga framställningen kopplad till skolan. Med GY11 kommer muntlig framställning att få mer utrymme på schemat än tidigare och syftet med denna studie är att genom kvantitativ enkätundersökning och fördjupade kvalitativa intervjuer få en bild av elevers syn på muntlig framställning. Vad har eleverna för associationer och känslor till muntlig framställning? Hur mycket spelar elevernas självkänsla och självförtroende in vid muntlig framställning? Hur ser de på sin egen förmåga som talare? Denna studie fokuserar på elevernas egna tankar, känslor och syn på muntlig framställning.Syftet är att utmana uppfattningen av elevers motvilja till muntlig framställning och se förbi tidigare diskussioner som ofta handlar om talängslan.

This report describes the development and implementation of a system for transmitting digital information at high speeds from a miniaturized submersible developed by the Ångström Space Technology Centre at Uppsala University. For instance, the vehicle shall transmit image data ? even stream live video - through an optical fibre to a monitor in a ground station. Hence, the system shall be used both to convert the image data to make it transmittable, and to recreate it at the receiver.The work includes a pre-study of the programming language and the technology used. A concept for the solution is presented together with main components later broken down into internal functions.

The purpose of this thesis is to identify power structures and instruments of power within the Jehovah?s witnesses and investigate how they affect the baptized youths baptized within the organization. The material consists of qualitative in-depth interviews and is analyzed with Foucault's theories of power. The results show that the participants have a very strict relationship to the rules of the congregation and also that they take great care in observing these rules carefully. It becomes evident that young members are exposed to disciplinary measures from the organization.

This thesis presents a research of Swedes view on sex tourism in Thailand. This research is showing how Swedes sees sex tourism in Thailand and what kind of thoughts they have about it. This research also shows the Swedish view on sex tourism in Thailand and how it differs from the view of the Swedish media and their opinion about the subject. Furthermore, this research shows that the view of this subject differs depending on the respondents? experience of travelling in Thailand.

Det övergripande syftet med denna uppsats är att studera multimodal kommunikation under musikundervisning, det vill säga att försöka förstå möjligheter och hinder för meningsskapande i musikundervisning, genom att beskriva och analysera hur undervisning semiotiskt designas av undervisande lärare. Jag har tittat på vilka teckensystem som en lärare använder sig av för att entusiasmera eleverna till delaktighet. Jag har valt att fokusera på de kroppsliga, verbala och rumsliga resurserna. Jag har använt mig av videodokumentering av tre lärsekvenser samt deltagande observation. I analysen av min empiri använder jag mig av Michael Hallidays metafunktioner för att studera formens betydelse för innehållet.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att ta fram en modell för torsionssvängningar i systemet vevaxel, motortransmission och kamaxeln på SCANIA's 12 liters dieselmotor DC1201. Det höga gastrycket och injektortrycket på SCANIA's dieselmotorer ger upphov till stora moment på både vevaxeln och kamaxeln. Dessa moment varierar kraftigt med tiden och skapar torsionssvängningar hos de båda axlarna samt hos motortransmissionen. Modellen som presenteras är linjär och av frekvens respons typ, den beskriver förloppet i fortvarighet. Axlarna och transmissionen är diskretiserade med totalt 37 frihetsgrader.

The study has been done on behalf of and in cooperation with LRF Konsult. The purpose of the study was to try to find out how forest estate buyers valuated different parts of the estate at the time of the purchase and to see if it was possible to identify different trends between different kinds of purchasers. The study is delimited to Västerbotten County and all the purchases were made thru LRF Konsult. The background of the study is that the forest estate purchasers are paying more and more for the forest estates. The prices are often much higher than the net present value which means that they are paying for something more than just the timber value. The study is made with a questionnaire mailed to one hundred forest estate purchasers. Answers got returned from 48 of them.

Syfte Syftet med föreliggande studie var att studera korrelationen mellan EMG-respons och effektutveckling i samband med genomförande av knäböj.MetodFyra manliga testpersoner deltog genom att utföra både knäböj 90° och djupa knäböj i en Smith-maskin som är ansluten till en Linear Encoder som möjliggör beräkning av effektutveckling. Samtidigt registrerades elektromyografisk aktivitet i musklerna Vastus lateralis, Hamstrings och Gluteus maximus. De utförde knäböj på olika relativa belastningsnivåer; 20, 40, 60, 80, 100% av 1RM.ResultatResultaten visade inte en stark korrelation mellan medel-EMG och power, inte heller mellan medel-EMG och hastighet, dock indikerade resultaten mellan de sistnämnda en tendens till att en lägre EMG aktivitet uppstod vid de högre hastigheterna. En starkare korrelation kunde antydas mellan medel-EMG och belastning/kraft. Ingen tydlig skillnad mellan musklerna påträffades i förhållande till resultaten ovan.

The purpose of this study was to examine how five preschool managers are looking at theirleadership and what difficulties they see in their leading. To live up to my purpose I askedthe following research questions: Which parts in their mission do the five preschoolmanagers see as problematic in relation to the curriculum for preschool and the schoolsinspectorate quality investigation? How do the preschool managers describe their leader styleand leader ideals, and is their any difference between the two of them?The method of this study was qualitative interviews with five preschool managers. Theresults that I found was that the most of the preschool managers see their leadership as coproduced(like in Ludvigssons research 2009) with the teachers and that the preschoolmanagers often find other difficulties in their mission compare to the quality investigation(School inspectorate 2012). I also found that three of the five preschool managers thoughtthat they weren?t present enough in the preschools because of their many tasks.When I tried to classify the preschool managers leader style I found that they vary betweendemocratic and authoritarian leader style in decision-making like in Tennenbaum andSchmidt?s (1973, p.

Introduction: Public health is based on the determinants of health. They mutually influence each other. Structural factors and life conditions contribute to health inequality both within and between countries. Health inequality can be seen between different social groups, which can be the cause of differences in living conditions, health behavior and disease vulnerability. One of the consequences of this is segregation which means that certain groups live apart, where this distribution can be connected to economic resources and/or ethnicity.

Nuclear power production carries potential risks both for the environment and for the work force. Different safety measures are employed and they stem from local rules as well as from regulatory authorities. This work describes the development of a safety promoting tool at Forsmark Power Plant, one of Sweden?s three Nuclear power plants.
