AbstractThis act is about how five children with dyslexia consider and understands their diagnosis. It is also about their self-image, future sights and about how their school life is compared with before they got their diagnosis. The study is implemented autumn 2011 on a medium-sized school in central Sweden. The survey was implemented through interviews with the five children, of which four was girls and one was a boy. The study shows that the children understand their dyslexia relatively well, but that they experience that it is bothersome to live with dyslexia.

By transcribing one drum solo recorded and performed by myself and another performed by Philly Jo Jones, a drummer I?ve heard and listened to through out my life, I try to find answers to the question: How much are we influenced by the music and the musicians we listen to?My experiment starts with me recording a improvised drum solo and then transcribing it. There is a lack of consensus within politics on how to deal with the so-called youth problem that exists in vulnerable areas. The politicians' positions are communicated in speech and writing and influence the majority society's attitude to children in vulnerable areas. Children are at the same time a vulnerable group in society. They are dependent on adults and need their guidance and support throughout their upbringing. In vulnerable areas live children whose health is affected by social and economic vulnerability and discrimination from the outside world. By looking into how hegemonic masculinity as norms are formulated in Swedish political documents, in relation to experiences of stigmatization and violence among children from vulnerable areas, this study wishes to examine if children?s right to a life without violence is being respected in vulnerable areas.

This thesis is about the interaction between composition, notation and interpretation and what occurs between the fields with an extended notation.The purpose of my thesis is to examine the possibilities tothoroughly describe and map the sounding samples through composition prototypes.The thesis has a qualitative approach, and the empirical material consists of different documents about notation and from interviews with musicians and students about the instruments used in the thesis.It also consists of 17 compositions recorded at Örebro University School of Music as an appendix.The analysis shows that the context in which the symbols are found, play an important role in performing them. The purpose of this essay is to discuss different memory techniques used by pianists so I can feel secure while performing during concerts. How do pianists learn to memorise music? According to me, are certain memorisation techniques more effective than others? Do pianists use different methods depending on repertoire? To find my answers, I have studied two other pianists? outcomes on the subject as well as applied my chosen memorising techniques on five pieces from different epochs. These techniques include visualising my fingers when they play on the keyboard, listening to the pieces many times, practicing short specific parts one hand at a time, singing the melody while playing the accompaniment, studying the scores without playing, as well as analysing the harmonic sequences..
