This study examines the link between the individual and social network, what social forces and social mechanisms involved in the interaction between individuals and groups and how we can explain and consider this relationship with the aim of understanding this connection. Through qualitative interviews, based on interviews of six active members in the organization Young KRIS (Young Criminal?s Return in the Society) examines the active social processes that the young members undergo, and motivates those who have been outside the expected conformed and regular society, to be included in the regular community and how this can be explained. The study shows that the organization through high availability, openness, knowledge of the needs of young people, good treatment, range of meaningful activities, has created a great venue for the young to develop and thus regain their place in the society..

I vÄr uppsats har vi tittat nÀrmre pÄ styrdokumenten för Àmnet fysik i den svenska gymnasieskolan. Vi har jÀmfört innehÄll och formuleringar mellan Àmnesplan 2011 och kursplan 2000 för att lokalisera och analysera likheter och skillnader dem emellan. En nÀrlÀsning av bÄde styrdokumenten och didaktisk- och pedagogisk forskning gjorde denna jÀmförelse och analys möjlig. Vi som blivande pedagoger vill med detta arbete bidra med vÄr syn pÄ styrdokumenten för fysikÀmnet i gymnasieskolan. Genom vÄrt arbete kom vi fram till att vetenskapsteori (Nature of Science) och samhÀllsfrÄgor (Socio-Scientific Issues) har fÄtt en mer betydande roll Àn tidigare.

Elevers sjunkande matematikprestationer Àr en pÄgÄende problematik (se. t.ex. TIMSS 2007) och förhoppningar med denna rapport Àr att lyfta en bredare syn pÄ matematik och dÀrmed skapa motivation för eleverna. My aim with the experience-based essay is that I want to explore the implications of mathematics on children's development. I also want to examine my approach in relation to the various mathematical tasks. Why do we think that mathematics is important for pre-school children? What does the research say about how the teacher is thinking about mathematics? Can the teacher combine playing and learning and create meaningful moments and activities related to mathematics? I also want to explore our policies and the objectives that the teacher should relate to. What is required of me as a teacher in order to meet those goals?My essay is about mine and my boss?s view of the mathematical tasks that I usually perform in the preschool.

Objective: To study the evidence on physical activity (PA) as an effective preventive strategy for depression.Methods: A search of electronic databases was performed for articles between 2007 and 2012, both original research and review articles, concerning the link between PA and depression on children, youth and adults. Three reviews, five longitudinal and two cross sectional studies were included.Results:  PA reduced the likelihood of depression in many studies and a sedentary or inactive lifestyle increased the risks for mental health symptoms such as depression. One study showed that low PA in childhood increased the odds of depression as an adult and other studies on teenagers saw a connection and mediation between PA and self-esteem whereas physical fitness showed no mediating effect. Many of the studies and reviews point out the insecurity regarding the dose-response association and the difficulties in defining causality.Conclusion: PA might have a preventive effect on depression. Some evidence exist to support that PA in childhood prevents depression in adults.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to make an outline of different methods and theories within the field of bibliometrics and critically review their strengths and weaknesses. The author studied literature that discussed bibliometric methods and theories. The number of empirical studies that are based on bibliometric methods and theories are numerous and where principally excluded, but some empirical studies were included as part of the argumentation for and against different methods and theories. The author first gives an outline of which methods and theories there are and describes their different strengths and weaknesses. Citation analysis has many different fields of application such as information retrieval, mapping science, evaluative studies and monitoring literature.

Studien syftar till att undersöka hur elever hanterar kriteriet om vetenskapligt arbetssÀtt i projektarbeten av teoretisk karaktÀr. Detta ger en fingervisning av pÄ vilka aspekter av vetenskaplighet som gymnasieelevers arbetssÀtt uppvisar styrkor respektive svagheter. Projektredovisningarna utgörs av texter pÄ mellan 15 och 25 sidor som Àr skrivna av gymnasieelever som lÀser det tredje och sista Äret i svensk gymnasieskola. I undersökningen har analyser gjorts av fyra elevtexter enligt en egenkomponerad analysmodell genom vilken tre aspekter av elevernas texter fokuseras. Aspekterna Àr kritiskt tÀnkande, slutledningsförmÄga och referenshantering.

Internet has made information more easy to get, but also more difficult to retrieve. There is a need for information retrieval systems that assure accurate, reliable and up to date information. Quite a number of both commercial and non commercial search services has been developed on the Internet. We have made a qualitative study of one for-pay product in particular, NetS k, produced by BTJ (Bibliotekstj nst), Lund. It is a database that contains collected, evaluated and classified links, and is especially developed to suit public librarians in Sweden.

Abstract: In the past ten years in Sweden, the numbers of people between the ages of 16-19 who were unemployed or not in upper secondary school education have increased. This was assumed to be caused by three factors. Firstly the upper secondary school education reforms in 1992, secondly a substantially reduced labour market for young people without the upper secondary school education and thirdly an increase in demand for work experience.Our purposes was to describe the effects on the outsiders through a document analysis study, but also to understand which individual, social and structural causes that were thought to increase the risk of marginality. Our second purposes were to understand how the Kristianstad community worked to prevent young people of ending up as outsiders. Through interviews with local authorities, we tried to find out if the Kristianstad community lives up to their responsibility of looking after people less than twenty years of age.Our conclusion was that, although the Kristianstad community seems to have a good system, the community has the highest number of unemployed in the county of SkÄne.

The definition of procrastination can be described as a behavior with deliberate postponement of tasks or commitments despite expected negative consequences for the individual and his or her environment. This study examined how widespread this behavior is among students in higher education in Sweden. Using a web-based survey, data was collected for analysis. A statistical program, SPSS, was used for evaluation of the collected data. The purpose of this study was to examine whether there are differences in the degree of procrastination between students located on campus versus students who do their education at distance.

Syftet med examensarbetet Àr att undersöka hur lÀrare mot gymnasieskolan i Àmnet Idrott och hÀlsa stÀller sig till en tidsmÀssig utökning av Àmnet och vad detta i sÄ fall kan ha för konsekvenser och möjligheter för undervisningen. För att fÄ svar pÄ syftet anvÀndes en kvalitativ metod i form utav tvÄ fokusgruppsintervjuer, innehÄllande totalt sex verksamma idrottslÀrare pÄ en gymnasieskola i VÀstsverige. Studien visade bland annat att idrottslÀrarna stÀller sig positiva till en tidsmÀssig utökning av Àmnet Idrott och hÀlsa och att en eventuell utökning skulle kunna öppna för nya möjligheter i lÀrarnas undervisning. Exempel pÄ detta skulle kunna vara mer hÀlsoundervisning i form av teori och en utökning av den individbaserade idrottsundervisningen..

This study presents an alternate viewpoint to the strive to overcome the gap between research and practitioners within paper prototyping in interaction design. Earlier research identifies three aspects of this gap, which is:Practitioners being unaware of interaction design methods and theoriesPractitioners being aware, but choosing not to apply these methods and theories, due to time, budget and constraints of labourPractitioners and research having different perspective on similar design issuesOur study was done by carrying out qualitative interviews with interaction designers based on two digital design bureaus. One of the bureaus has an expressed link to research: the other has not. Our hypothesis is that the gap would manifest as a difference in work practice between the two bureaus.Our study shows that the two bureaus have similarities in work practice and that this work practice is based on scientific methods and theories, but is adapted to fit the client and/or the project. We conclude that the overcoming of the gap might not be necessary.

Syfte med undersökningen var att undersöka vilka socialisationsverktyg anvÀnder personalen vid kommunala HVB (Hem för vÄrd eller boende) för ensamkommande barn, samt ta reda pÄ om personalen anvÀnder makt genom att stÀmpla ensamkommande barn som avvikare. Vi genomförde Ätta semistrukturerade intervjuer med personal inom fem olika kommunala HVB för ensamkommande barn. Resultatet analyserades med utgÄngspunkt i symbolisk interaktionistiskt perspektiv, socialisationsteorin, maktteori samt stÀmplingsteorin. Resultat visade att socialisationsarbetet kan i hög grad bli bÀttre pÄ att socialisera barnen pÄ ett positivt sÀtt. Fyra socialisationsverktyg identifierades: 1) riktlinjer och handlingsplaner 2) sprÄket 3) bemötandet i vardagen och personalens attityd 4) att överföra normer och vÀrderingar.
