As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

Purpose/Aim: To create a communication strategy for PADI Nordic with the intention of getting Swedish divers, who have been certified abroad, to Swedish dive centers.Material/Method: The study is based on a number of personal interviews conducted with a) divers who are active in Sweden, b) divers who are not active in Sweden and c) representatives from PADI and PADI affiliated dive centers.Main results: The main reason that people who have been certified abroad do not dive in Sweden is that they regard it as being too complicated, too cold, too expensive and with nothing interesting to see. These might partly be misconceptions that can be corrected through a communication strategic effort. The best way to change this perception is by two different forms of communication. One will go from PADI Nordic straight to the divers through an email. This will have the purpose of getting their attention, making diving sound interesting and raise their awareness in preparation for the other part of the process.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if there are environments that use some kind of central authentication system within institutions/schools. The hypothesis is that an institution not using a form of central authentication service has more need for maintenance and as such is considered a higher cost for the organization. The gathering of data has been done through interviews with technical personal at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola and Linköpings Universitet. Based on the technical background of the authors, and the system limited to discussing Windows and UNIX operating systems, a discussion and analysis of the systems working today has been done, with emphasize on the hypothesis..

Agency theory describes the conflict of interest between the principal (stockholders) and the agent (CEO). Aligning the incentives of executives with those of the owners is the most direct way to mitigate the agency problem. If there is no meaningful link between CEO compensation and company performance, it is doubtful that the large sums of assets in public corporations are being managed efficiently. In theory the solution is simple reward the CEO when shareholders wealth increases. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if there is a relationship between company performance and CEO compensation among Swedish companies, in materials and information technology industry.

The study focuses on mapping how well prepared the counties in the west region of Sweden is in case of restructuring. The study explores what kind of activities and routines that contributes to prepare the organization for restructuring. The study also aims to investigate the effect of precedent restructuring, and if the counties who experienced restructuring are more prepared than others.The research within the field of restructuring characterizes of an evaluating nature and the focus has been after the restructuring occurred. There have also been a lot of studies of the negative consequences on individual and organizational level. Since downsizing is a frequently used method by management despite its consequences is it important to investigate how organizations can learn and thereby be more prepared for restructuring.

Vid sekelskiftet år 2000 startade Göteborgs Universitet den första egna utbildningen i familjeterapi som ger behörighet att blir legitimerad psykoterapeut efter avlagd examen. Utbildningen är treårig. Den grupp som nu studerar nu är den tredje gruppen och började höstterminen 2006.Denna studie riktade sitt intresse mot dem som studerar och har studerat vid psykoterapeutprogrammet med inriktning mot familjeterapi vid Göteborgs universitet. Frågeställningarna rörde den professionella utvecklingen efter utbildningen och erfarenheterna av utbildningen. I vilken omfattning har man slutfört utbildningen? Har man bytt arbete eller arbetsuppgifter och i vilken omfattning arbetar man med familjeterapi under och efter utbildningen? Vad har studenterna uppfattat som utbildningens styrka och vilka brister har man upplevt? Som metod har valts att telefonintervjua femtioåtta av deltagarna vid de tre årskurserna.

The background of this study is the fact that it nowadays is more common to grow wheat after wheat. Usually we plow every autumn to remove the straw, and we wanted to study the effect of alternative methods to do it. We have done this experiment to answer the question if no tillage is better than conventional plowing. The results of the field experiment indicate that there is a link between plant establishment and the choice of equipment, but also a higher weed pressure in experimental plots with only ground tillage. The equipments which left much straw on the top of the ground the problems with fungi were more severe.

Sverige är idag ett överutbildat land. Högre utbildning ger dock ingen garanti till kvalificerade yrken. Problematiken med matchningen tycks vara generell oavsett utbildnings- och geografiskt område. Syftet med studien var att undersöka matchningsproblematiken för personalvetare med kompetens som utgångspunkt. Undersökningen genomfördes på personalvetaralumner från Umeå universitet som varit yrkesverksamma högst tre år.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how administrative officers at the Swedish social insurance agency experience and deal with the goal conflicts they may experience. Furthermore, the purpose is to gain a greater understanding on how they perceive their role in the implementation process, and their position as the link between the citizens and the state. Two potential conflicts are examined; between quantitative goals and performance measures and those more qualitative and hard to measure; between economic values such as cost efficiency and productivity and democratic values such as the rule of law. The other conflict examined is that between implementing and following the laws set forth, take into account the individual needs and interests of the citizen. The theoretical framework consists of Lundquist?s theory on public officers as the guardians of democracy, which means that they should not only implement laws and rules according to political intentions, but also make sure that the democratic values and principles are followed in the relationship between state and citizen.

I denna kvantitativa C-uppsats analyseras en webbaserad enkät som 167 socionomstudenter vid Uppsala Universitet hösten 2011 besvarat angående demens och demensproblematik. Uppkomsten av denna studie får sin grund i människors bemötande av varandra och att det finns en bakomliggande orsak i form av olika grad av kunskap och erfarenhet som uttrycks i en attityd till någonting, i detta fall demenssjukdom. Det är av vikt att få veta vad socionomstudenter, som är en grupp som kan komma i kontakt med individer som har demenssjukdom eller lider av demensproblematik, har för attityder till, kunskaper om och erfarenheter av demens för att på så sätt kunna se eventuella brister i ett möte. Uppsatsen tar sin utgångspunkt i den teoretiska referensramen skapad för studiens syfte och som genomsyrar den: tre specifika teman i förhållande till demens, attityder till, kunskap om och erfarenhet av demens. Det var även utifrån dessa teman som enkätstudien utformades. Således undersöker uppsatsen frågeställningarna, vilken kunskap, vilka attityder och i vilken utsträckning socionomstudenterna har erfarenhet av demens och demensproblematik. Frågeställningarna har analyserats med hjälp av univariatanalys och bivariat analys.

This thesis conducts a comparative study between two academiclibraries, one Swedish and one English, in order to analyse ifdifferent funding systems influence the marketing of theirservices. The theoretic foundation is built on relationshipmarketing, which emphasises the importance of creating andmaintaining relationships. A qualitative approach has been usedthrough the use of case studies, with semi-structured interviewsbeing held with library staff and managers in both countries. Inaddition to these interviews strategic plans have also beenanalysed. The result from the study shows that whilst there aresome differences between the two university libraries there arealso similarities, which indicates that it is not clear if differentfunding systems have an impact on the marketing of the services..

The aim of the study is to investigate what pupils in grade 1 think about reading aloud, reading alone, the selection of books, and the significance of reading. A subsidiary aimwas to examine the relation between the pupils? experiences of reading in the home andtheir ability to discuss a text they have read. A sidetrack in the study aimed to see whether the pupils? experiences of reading in the home affected their outlook on readingin general.

The purpose of this study is to propose and formulate quantitative indicators to help measure an aspect of the Environmental Objectives in Swedish legislation: ?A Good Built Environment, Interim Target 2.? The governmental bill 2004/05:150 suggests changes to Interim Target 2: By 2010 built environments of cultural heritage value will be identified and placed under long-term sustainable management. Following the revised formulation regarding sustainable management, indicators should be formulated to measure the fulfilment of sustainable management of built environments of cultural heritage value. An important part of management takes place at the municipal level of planning, where detailed development plans include regulations to protect built environments of substantial cultural heritage value. As a result, this study is focusing upon the regulatory function of the Swedish Planning and Building Act in respect to the built environments of cultural heritage value.
