In Lake Vänern, Sweden, there is an endemic population of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) that lives its entire life in fresh water. The salmon is hindered from migrating to its natural spawning sites in the northern part of the River Klarälven by nine hydro-electric power plants. None of the hydro-electric power plants have fishways so that salmon migrating upstream or downstream may pass. In the current situation, the upward migrating salmon are caught in a fish trap at the most downstream located power plant in Forshaga. From there, the salmon are driven in a truck, past eight power plants and released a few kilometers upstream of the eighth power plant at Edsforsen.

The essay's aim is to explain how responsibility distribution between private and public bodies, primarily within three important service areas, can be visualised in light of the fact that they have experienced different forms of readjustment. We have chosen to study this by looking at the restoration work taking place after the hurricane Gudrun swept across southern Sweden on January 8-9, 2005; and we have chosen to concentrate on the service areas of electricity- and telephone supply, and public transport. The responsibility distribution has been depicted by carrying out qualitative interviews with employees within both private and public bodies included in the restoration work. The conclusion produced is that there were obscurities in the formal responsibility distribution between private and public actors taking place in conjunction with the hurricane restoration work.In a deeper analysis, the result can be explained by a ?several hands? problem arising since the number of actors has increased as the public sphere has adopted leadership forms influenced by the private business sector.

The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the visibility of the university libraries in the strategic documents from the actual universities to which they belong. And also, the image of themselves they send out, are examined. By examining different kinds of descriptions we want to get a clearer picture of how and in what amount the libraries are mentioned in highest level strategies. By doing this we expect to find out the libraries' strategic role in higher education and research. The research questions are: What role and function are assigned to the university libraries in strategies created by the schools' highest administrative levels? How do the libraries present themselves in their own strategies? The approach is cross sectional and the time frame is year 2008.

The project description is to draw an extension or annex to the existing Nationalmuseum building from 1866.The annex is designed to complement Nationalmusems activities and contain internal and public functions. Artentering the building must not be crossed by public visitors. Art and staff must be able to seamlessly move betweenthe extension and the main building. The new building includes a public study room for scholars working withthe collection of art on paper, workshops, conservation studios, art spaces and warehouses. Additionally, theannex is designed to host a large number of office spaces.With the renovation of Nationalmuseum they intend to open up the today built in south atrium.

Under 1900-talet inträffade det såväl nationellt som internationellt en rad händelser som har kommit att påverka vad som idag är att betrakta som säkerhet. Vårt samhällsklimat har gått från att handla om förberedelser inför ett storkrig mot att idag handla om hur vi ska förhindra och motstå olyckor och katastrofer. Denna studie är en genomgång av hur det svenska krishanteringssystemet är uppbyggt med fokusering på polismyndigheternas roll. Syftet är att åskådliggöra vilka krav som Rikspolisstyrelsen (RPS) ställt på polismyndigheternas förmåga att klara av kriser som utgörs av bland annat CBRNE?karaktär det vill säga kemiska, biologiska, radiologiska, nukleära eller explosiva händelser samt att granska hur pass långt polismyndigheterna kommit i sitt krisberedskapsarbete.

Det rådande samhällsklimatet, landets ekonomi i stort samt den ökande arbetslösheten, i landet har lett till att fler människor än någonsin tidigare söker sig till eftergymnasiala utbildningar. Regeringen har de senaste åren skjutit till pengar för att skapa fler studieplatser. Även om antalet studieplatser har ökat, så är rekryteringen till de olika universiteten något skev. Resultatet blir att det uppstår ett enormt söktryck på vissa skolor, medan en del får svårt att fylla platserna. Ett annat dilemma är att antalet utbildningsalternativ har ökat markant vilket också bidrar till denna effekt.

The aim of this study is to shed light on the phenomenon of destructive sexual behavior among youth from the perspective of professionals working at nonprofit organizations. To examine this, we used a qualitative method; we interviewed professionals working at nonprofit organizations. To analyze our results we used gender theory and empowerment theory. Our main results are that the professionals view this behavior as deliberate self-harm, such as cutting, as they do it to achieve relief from anxiety. Also, the professionals think that gender norms affect young people with destructive sexual behavior in that it imposes guilt and shame, which inflicts their already low self-esteem and makes them feel inferior.

Filmerna var alltsa? a?ven deras examensprojekt. Tva? av filmerna komponerade jag musik till sja?lv och till de resterande tre filmerna komponerade jag musiken tillsammans med min klasskompis Eirik Røland.

Along with the increasing trend of online advertising comes an increasing avoidance behaviour from the observers. The marketing communication now requires a valuable content, which leads to the creation of new online advertising forms; including content marketing, advertorials, online ads and the latest rising star - Native Advertising. The last-mentioned also constitutes the basis and object of study for this paper. The purpose of this study is to shed light into this relatively unexplored topic and concretize the true effects. There are many examples of how Native Advertising is framed and implemented, but little hard facts and real figures.

This thesis is about university spin-offs and the competition in high technology industries. In the light of efforts to increase the competitiveness of the European Union, an effective transfer of cutting edge technology from universities to the industry plays an important role. University spin-offs, start-ups founded to exploit academic inventions, are likely to face considerable market entry barriers. This is among other reasons due to high capital requirements for further technology development and lack of complementary resources. With a combination of relevant literature and empirical investigation, commercialisation of technologies within spin-offs is investigated and analysed.

Jag är av den uppfattningen att det idag kryllar av bra artister och låtskrivare, men många av dem får aldrig något genombrott. För att lyckas behöver man skriva ett unikt material, alternativt så behöver man redan vara ett känt varumärke som artist. Detta är kortfattat mina uppfattningar om musikbranschen i dagsläget.Hur tar man då sig fram som låtskrivare och hur kan man utvecklas? Dessa var frågeställningar som dök upp i mitt huvud efter att jag gav ut ett musikalbum våren 2012, då jag direkt konstaterade hur pass svårt jag tyckte det var, att få folk att uppmärksamma albumet.Efter detta bestämde jag mig för att ta mig själv ur min trygghetszon, och börja skriva musik med människor som jag inte känner sedan tidigare. Jag ville vidga mina vyer och få nya idéer, kanske även byta stil helt, om så skulle vara nödvändigt! Vilken var min stil? Jag bestämde mig för att skriva musik med andra, för att sedan kunna undersöka vilka eventuella fördelar respektive nackdelar som detta skulle föra med sig - i jämförelse med att skriva musiken på egen hand.

The term ?vulnerable areas? is developed by the Swedish police, referring to various areas in Sweden that are classified as socioeconomically disadvantaged, and with an active criminal presence. Over time, this term has gained significant popularity and is now used not only by the police but also by other entities such as the media, where these areas are often depicted as urban outcasts. Therefore, this study focuses on the portrayal of ?vulnerable areas? in the Swedish news media, where the topic has been widely debated in recent years.

One hundred years ago, boys and girls in Sweden went to school in two parallel educational systems. The girl schools were privately owned and had two educational goals; education for the household and education for work outside the home. The girl schools were free to give the education they thought was right, but around the turn of the century women?s education became an issue of growing political interest.The purpose of my study is to shine light on the idea-political impact on the teaching in the turn of the century independent girl schools. I ask two questions; What types of subjects did girl school pupils write essays about, and how do they change over time? Seen from a genus perspective, what is the relation between the essay subjects and the idea-political trends at a higher societal level?I conduct a quantitative study of Swedish essay subjects at a girl school in Växjö between the years 1884-1929.

Title: The nurse's dilemma in psychiatric inpatient care - a balancing act between good and evil Objective: To describe the nurse's experience of relieving patient suffering caused by coercive measures on a closed psychiatric ward . Frame of reference : The results are discussed in light of Eriksson´s theory of suffering and caring relationships Method: A qualitative analysis based on focus group discussions Results: The analysis resulted in six categories, to protect the patient , to involve the patient , not to lose control , to remain , to justify compulsion , and to be touched . The results showed that nurses had the experience of being able to relieve the suffering of patients caused by coercive measures. It was also found that the nurses had a tendency to justify coercive measures , the more experience they had of performing these . Conclusion: The results describe that nurses have the experience and knowledge of how to relieve patients' suffering caused by coercion but also their experiences of performing these .

I denna uppsats har vi mätt produktionseffektiviteten vid Sveriges 21 polismyndigheter i syfte att identifiera vilka polismyndigheter som är relativt mest produktiva. Vidare har vi beräknat hur stor förbättringspotentialen är för de polismyndigheter som är improduktiva. Beräkningarna grundar sig på Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), en metod som används i syfte att beräkna den relativa produktionseffektiviteten. Metoden tillåter multipla variabler vilket möjliggör en analys av flervalsproduktion, d.v.s. en analys av enheter som producerar flera prestationer (outputs) med hjälp av flera insatsfaktorer (inputs).
