This Bachelor's thesis examines and describes the ideas and ideological traits surrounding the public library within the governmental cultural policy. The Bachelor's thesis demonstrates how the public library ? even though its relevance in the modern society has shifted over time ? has maintained a connection to the governmental cultural policy and has therefore been shaped by the ideological changes in the political sphere as a whole. The main issues are: Which ideas concerning the public library's functions are expressed in the governmental cultural policy? Which ideological tendencies can be identified in the national cultural policy? Which ideas concerning the public library can be extracted through the found ideological tendencies? The method used in order to study the governmental bill is an ideology analysis based on a framework created by Dorte Skot-Hansen.

I den kvantitativa separeras artiklar från sport- och övrig journalistik.

The case study investigates study association representatives? perspectives on the activities of the popular education within the social sector in Örebro and why they are organized. It further investigates the cooperation and dialogue between the study associations and the municipality of Örebro regarding this activity. The study is based on critical realism. A questionnaire survey was conducted among all ten study associations in Örebro, combined with qualitative interviews with representatives from six of the active associations.

Regional säkerhetskomplex-teori är en central del av Köpenhamnsskolan, och den beskriver säkerhet som något som sker framför allt på en regional analysnivå. Teorin kan beskrivas som en blandning mellan neorealism och konstruktivism, sett ur ett regionalistiskt perspektiv. I den här uppsatsen försöker jag ta reda på vad den här teorin tillför till förståelsen av säkerhetspolitik, utöver vad vi lär oss av konventionell neorealistisk eller liberal teori. Detta gör jag genom två fallstudier där de olika teorierna jämförs med varandra och deras förklaringskraft studeras. Min ena fallstudie handlar om Europa, den andra om den post-sovjetiska sfären med fokus på Ryssland. Jag drar slutsatsen att regional säkerhetskomplex-teori har både för- och nackdelar jämfört med dominerande teorier.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate and analyse the debate of ideas on gender equality policy during 1998 - 2011. The questions raised in this thesis are; which gender equality policy ideology has prevailed during 1998 - 2011, and which ideological orientation have the different ministers of gender equality expressed during the same period of time? I have conducted the study by analysing government publications and debate articles against a ideological framework consisting of different types of feminist theory. In order to get a result as representative as possible, I have only used the material from each of the ministers during their time in office. The research method that I have used when analyzing the material is qualitative text analysis.

Vår uppgift med uppsatsen är att undersöka chefernas roll i internkommunikationen på Nymölla Bruk och utveckla deras kommunikativa förmåga. Detta gjorde vi genom att ta reda på hur cheferna på Nymölla Bruk uppfattar sin roll som kommunikatörer och hur internkommunikationen ser ut i dagsläget på bruket. Uppgiften fick vi på initiativ av företagets informationschef som sett ett behov av att undersöka och förbättra chefernas kommunikativa förmåga. Vi har tagit fram en mnual som cheferna interaktivt får använda för att förstå deras kommunikativa ansvar och roll i förhållande till andra chefer och medarbetare. This thesis is seeking to explain why policy change come about. This is done by applying a part of Karin Lindgrens dissertation Vad styr ledaren?. The research evolves around the term pressure and the hypothesis are that policy change come about when there is middle range pressure on the decision-maker. Low and high pressure results in no or small policy change.The thesis is done as a case study where the economic crisis in Thailand 1996-1999 makes my case.

This thesis is an analysis of articles published in the Palestinian newspaper al-Quds concerning the escalated conflicts within the Fatah movement during the summer in 2004.The study is done on the basis of the assumption that The Palestinian Authority (PA) expects the domestic media institutions to support the official objectives and, in this case most important, the national unity. My investigation reveals that the articles are indeed highly adjusted and purposed to unify and to hinder further growing instability, both in the politicalsphere and in the streets. The message urging for unification under the PA is constantly, directly and indirectly, repeated throughout the articles by the choice of themes and references as well as by the choice of individuals and organisations delivering statements..

Uppsatsens syfte är att granska sexton recensioner publicerade i svensk respektive amerikansk press gällande filmen Den Gröna Cykeln (Haifaa Al-Mansour, 2012). Undersökningen grundar i kritikernas syn på genus och jämställdhet samt kulturell och nationell identitet som filmen berör. Recensionerna analyseras och jämförs för att hitta skillnader och likheter i den svenska respektive amerikanska receptionen. Analysen visar att skillnaden mellan de två nationernas reception är uppdelade mellan de två fokusområdena, där de amerikanska kritikerna fokuserar på kulturell och nationell identitet och jämför filmens skildring av det saudiarabiska samhället med den amerikanska kulturen. De svenska kritikerna tycks generellt ha större fokus på filmens skildring av genus och jämställdhet till skillnad från amerikanerna..

För att koordinera datainsamlingen för vårt examensarbete har samverkan skett med Helsingborgs Stad och skolor i kommunen. www.svt.se/spinn - en webbcommunity för unga - SVT har en webbcommunity på sin hemsida som heter SPINN och som i första hand riktar sig till tonårsungdomar. Trots ett stort antal medlemmar på webbcommunityn är dessa medlemmar, ur ett demografiskt perspektiv, en ganska enhetlig grupp. Framför allt är det unga tjejer med svensk bakgrund som utgör majoriteten av de registrerade medlemmarna på webbcommunityn.

Syftet med vårt arbete är att få en uppfattning om hur några lärare använder sig av läxan i undervisningen, samt vilken betydelse de anser den har för lärandet. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex lärare på högstadiet. Resultatet av vår studie visar att lärare använder sig av läxor, och att repetition och innötning är de främsta skälen till att språklärare ger läxa, men även den tidsbesparande aspekten är ett starkt skäl. Att eleverna får träna sig i eget ansvar verkar dessutom ligga i fokus. Lärarna känner även press från föräldrar att de ska ge läxor.

This study is based on a proposition about the legislation regarding sexual offences prepared by a commission initiated by the Swedish government in 1972 which was presented in 1976. The purpose of this study has been to ascertain the commissions views on rape based on their representation of the problem, their presuppositions and assumptions regarding it and future consequences in behavior for victims and offenders of the crime. The key results of this study is that the commission regarded the ?problem? of the then current legislation to be non-consistently with the time being. In their opinion the legislation needed to be loosened from its moral strings and be adjusted to the ?new? sexually liberal era.

This master thesis investigates how the county administrative boards communicate the regional risk and vulnerability analyses to municipalities in Sweden. Information has been gathered through a survey and through a case study involving three county administrative boards. The results revealed that there are possibilities to improve or develop the communication in all the county administrative boards. The information channels are often written or web based, these channels promote one way communication rather than a dialog. The thesis gives suggestion on how to work out a strategy for a more effective communication, the case study also gives ideas on how a county administrative board can work with communication..

This thesis examines how power is constructed through language use in the Swedish mining policy with the legislative change proposition to enabling uranium mining. The aim is to analyze differences in how the government and municipalities formulate and justify their positions. The study adopts a qualitative case study design and applies Fairlough?s critical discourse analysis. The empirical material consists of a governmental press release and public consultation responses from municipalities.

The aim of this essay is to analyze how students are constituted as subjects in local curricula. The theoretical perspective is grounded in Michel Foucault?s notion of governmentality and power/knowledge and his critique of a sovereign subject. From this theoretical perspective I use Foucault?s concept of formation of objects and Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe?s idea of subject positioning as tools for a discourse analysis.
