The purpose of this study is to examine the effect the Nazi threat had on the swedish labour movement between 1932 and 1939 and to enrich what kind of pre-understanding they had about the fall of the Weimar Republic and the upcoming and effects of the Third Reich.Brought by the development in Germany, a debate and struggle took place in the Social Democratic journal Tiden over the meaning of concepts and there ability, in the hands of demagogs, to overthrow democratic structures. The concept of socialism and its concepts attribute play a major part in this investigation. By establishing fields of tension such as - nation vs internationalism, socialism in theory and in practice, political democracy vs evolved democracy and the diverse principles of neutrality, the first principle meaning the defending of national boarders, the other meaning not only defending your own country but taking an active part in defending democracy in the world - I was able to observe the movement and change of concepts within this fields. The result showing that the concept of socialism and near related attributes, in the hands of national socialists had undertaken a wast change of meaning, which applied in the Swedish debate threatened to undermine the power and force of the Social Democrats applied in the political discourse in Sweden. To defend itself and strengthening the Social Democratic hegemony as well as maintaining the goal of evolved democratic expansion, they were forced to win the confidence and votes of the middle class.

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the debate regarding privatization of public libraries. The purpose is to investigate howprivatization is portrayed in different articles and by different participants. The articles used are from two of Sweden?s largest national daily papers: Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet and two of Sweden?s largest library magazines: Biblioteksbladet and Tidskriften BiS: Bibliotek i Samhälle. The questions asked are: how is privatization portrayed? Whatdiscourses can be traced in the texts? And: can one foresee a future aiming towards privatization? In order to answer these questions Norman Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis was used as atheoretical and methodological viewpoint.The discourses found were named: The value ground discourse, the market liberal discourse and the pragmatic discourse.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there has been a change in the use of democratic values in textbooks in social science for classes 4-6. The focus lies on democratic values from two different theoretical perspectives, Dahl?s theory of democracy and Habermas deliberative democracy. The method used is a text analysis based on a model made by Lennart Hellspong. The material we?ve analysed consists of four textbooks in social science from different decades, with a range from 1981 until today.

Barns inflytande i förskolan - Children?s influence at the preschool This essay concentrates around teachers work with children´s influence at the preschool and how that affects the days there for the children and the teachers. The purpose of the essay is to present how four educationalists placed at two different preschools work with childrens influence at the preschool and their point of wiev of the matter. With that I also wanted to expose how the educationalists work with childrens rights at the preschool and to that I added how democracy is used at the preschool. The investigation´s starting point was the questions: What does childrens influence at the preschool mean for the educationalists? How do the educationalists think regarding childrens rights? When can the children be included in dessisionmaking at the preschool? When is it not possible for the children to be included in the dessisionmaking? The four educationalists were intervjued seperately to get the most honest answers.

The world is getting smaller. Global markets, political processes and communication technology bring people together. Even though many of these processes are dynamic and constructive, they have also resulted in a need for better and more effective ways of international conflict resolution. This thesis investigates central issues connected to the concept of humanitarian interventions in relation to current and future legislation of the European Union. The overall question is whether the rapid globalization process has resulted in a change of international law towards more liberal view where authorization of the security council is not always needed? And, if there has actually been such a liberalization, how does that affect the legal possibilities for the European Union to carry out armed operations without the consent of the global community? The conclusion of the thesis is that international law has been modified mainly in two aspects: First, the concept of sovereignty is no longer seen merely as a right of the nation, but also as a responsibility.

Syftet i denna uppsats är att undersöka talutrymmet hos starka respektive svaga elever.Uppsatsen grundar sig på material från observationer i en klass under loppet av två dagar och ger en tydlig inblick i hur det ser ut i verkligheten. Resultatet visade att de stereotypa roller som finns i stort stämmer överens med hur det egentligen är och det visade sig att svaga elever talar mindre. Detta beror framförallt på läraren då denne väljer att ge de starka eleverna ordet trots att det är den gruppen elever som också tar ordet själva. Av resultaten att döma är en förändring behövlig..

Sverige är sedan länge en demokrati där medborgarna deltar efter demokratiska principer. Skolan är en del av samhället och har som huvuduppgift att förberedda elevens deltagande i samhällslivet. Skolan ska fostra framtida medborgare enligt demokratiska principer, därmed är skolan en verksamhet för elevens eget ansvarstagande och inflytande. Då skolans verksamhet lägger stor vikt vid individanpassning kan elevinflytande vara en tänkbar komponent för att möjliggöra elevers inflytande i lärandeprocessen. Dagens elever ska ju i framtiden vara demokratiska medborgare i samhället.

In this survey the author discusses teachers interpretation of documents formulated bythe government. The text in focus is the beginning of the curriculum where the basicvalues for the Swedish school system are to be found. Since there are great difficultiesknowing what the politicians mean, this survey tries to discuss different words likesecularism, confessional, non-confessional, and what they mean. This might seemobvious at first but it is relevant when you discuss religion and it´s roll in liberaldemocracies. This survey also tries to show how different interpretation of the textwould lead to different practice because of the lack of an actual consensus.

This study's main objective was to identify adolescents participation in alternative sport activities and which kind of physical activity that was preferred by adolescents who didn't had any earlier experience of sport clubs. The study combined interviews and surveys with the purpose to get both adolescents and sport leaders perspective. A total of five interviews were performed and fifty-four surveys was collected. The results showed that adolescents already physical active were those who participated in alternative sport activities. Who participate in alternative sport activities can depend on habitus, comprehended capital forms and in which social field the sport activities exists..

Discussions about the democratic deficit of the European Union have gotten more intense and the criticism usually points towards a great gap between the citizens and the EU politics. In this study the political communication policy is being put under the scope to investigate to what extent the policy is designed to counter the democratic deficit, supported by the theory of deliberative democracy. The analysis examines three aspects of the deficit ? decentralization, participation and the distribution of information ? and makes research into the communicative measures that have been implemented. The importance for EU to make deliberation possible is stressed throughout the essay and in the conclusion I argue that improvements still need to be made.  .

Sedan millennieskiftet har de svenska TV-sända partiledardebatterna allt mer gått från det traditionella till ett mer medieanpassat och publikfriande upplägg. Detta visar sig inte minst i SVT:s sedvanliga slutdebatter som äger rum i samband med riksdagsvalen. I denna uppsats undersöker jag hur och om debattklimatet har påverkats av dessa förändringar, samt vilka samhällsmässiga konsekvenser det kan innebära på ett övergripande plan. Detta gör jag med begreppen medialisering och demokrati som teoretiska analysverktyg, vilka jag definierar med i huvudsak Jesper Strömbäcks bok Den medialiserade demokratin (2004) som viktig kunskapskälla. Strömbäck har inte minst hjälpt mig till att förstå journalistens roll i såväl ett medialiserings- som ett demokratiskt sammanhang, något som varit viktigt för mig att ta hänsyn till i denna undersökning.De empiriska resultaten bygger på en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av SVT:s slutdebatter åren 1976 ? 2010, där debattklimaten mäts med fokus på antal avbrott, handviftningar, kakofoni, klipp samt inlägg av moderatorn.

I det här examensarbetet studeras Astrid Lindgrens litteratur utifrån ett didaktiskt perspektiv. Syftet är att i en idéanalys undersöka vilka idéer och värderingar som förmedlas i ett urval av Astrid Lindgrens verk som kan vara en tillgång i undervisningen i grundskolans tidigare år, i detta fall från förskoleklass till årskurs fyra. Fokus ligger på vad litteraturen förmedlar, varför den är didaktiskt relevant samt på vilket sätt innehållet kan vara en tillgång i undervisningen. Idéanalysen är gjord utifrån fyra olika teman, som är relationer, känslor, genus och självkänsla.Analysen framhåller att böckerna förmedlar olika sorters relationer, som elever kan identifiera sig med. Dessa är relevanta att lyfta i undervisningen för att behandla viktiga ämnen så som identitet, kränkande behandling, mobbning, demokrati, alla människors lika värde, respekt, moral, etik och värdegrund.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to describe and compare the debates regarding the public funded publishing company En bok för alla (EBFA). On two occasions, 1992 and 2007, the public funding was threatened, which lead to debates and protests. The funding was revoked in 2007. I want to examine if by studying a particular product of cultural policy, one can se tendencies to how the cultural policy in whole change over time.

The current study sought to examine if post-produced semantic memory cues are a good aid for memory recall. It also focused on remembering units with a meaning, instead of just remembering lists of words. In the current study a factual text was used where the participants were tasked with recalling as much information as possible either with the aid of cues (keywords written by the participants themselfs), computer with Internet or no aids at all. The results showed that keywords are significantly better for memory recall. The results were discussed in regards to modern models describing semantic memory.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien är få ökad kunskap om lärares uppfattningar om att arbeta med elevinflytande i idrott och hälsa.Vad har lärarna för tankar om och inställning till elevinflytande?Vad får eleverna påverka respektive inte påverka i undervisningen i idrott och hälsa?Hur upplever lärarna förutsättningarna för att arbeta med elevinflytande i idrott och hälsa?MetodKvalitativa intervjuer användes som metod. Sex lärare som undervisar mot grundskolans tidigare åldrar i idrott och hälsa intervjuades. Kontakt togs via mail för att informera om undersökningen och därefter bestämdes tid och plats för att genomföra intervjuerna. Intervjuerna bandades med diktafon och transkriberades vartefter som intervjuerna lyssnades igenom för att slutligen sammanställas.
