Using stimuli with identical information in both PR and advertising, this study seeks to explain how content class together with the level of involvement affects the communication effects of marketing messages. There is currently no established way of measuring the value of PR, and contemporary PR metrics do not take into account what effects PR actually generates. PR is often said to have an advantage over advertising due to the effects of third party endorsement, but previous empirical assessments show inconsistent results regarding what effects each content class generates. The result of this study is that PR is stronger at building recall, interest and credibility, and that it has less perceived selling intent than advertising. Results differ somewhat between different levels of involvement, but the conclusion is that this might not be attributable to the level of involvement per se but rather to the type of products being used in stimuli - a conclusion that seems valid for previous research as well.

The problem with low political participation in specific areas has almost always been theoretically explained through an individual perspective. This study is therefore focusing on the problem from a contextual perspective. The hypothesis for the study is as follows, in the case of Malmö the level of participation in elections are affected by social environment in which segregation will be the single highest factor. The dependent variable, participation in the election was tested by the independent variables representing social environment; origin, education, gainfully employed and income.

Abstract In the contemporary world of information technology you find a multitude of applications and systems covering a broad spectrum of areas of need in different companies. One effect of this multitude of programs is the difficulty to make them exchange information with each other or to collaborate, since they are developed by different programming languages for different platforms, with different standards and different data formats. Our aim with this work is to describe how it is possible to tie these programs together to make them actually communicate with each other in order to exchange information, share their native methods and also to become a part of the overall business processes. In this integration task you will, among other things, find different levels of application integration such as data level, method level, application interface level and user interface level integration. Application integration also involves hardware components, called middleware, that facilitate the physical connection between applications.

Dagens grafikkort är uppbyggda av kraftfulla multiprocessorer som gör dom ypperliga för att hantera parallelliserbara problem som skulle ta lång tid att utföra på en vanlig processor, så som exempelvis level-of-detail eller raytracing.Denna rapport presenterar en parallelliserbar level-of-detail algoritm för terränghöjdkartor samt implementerar denna för användning på grafikkort användande Nvidias CUDA API. Algoritmen delar upp den totala höjdkartan i sektioner som ytterligare delas upp i mindre block som beräknas parallellt på grafikkortet. Algoritmen räknar ut vertexpositioner, normaler och texturkoordinater för vardera block och skickar datan till applikationen som skapar vertex och indexbuffertar och renderar sektionerna. Implementationens prestanda och förmåga att reducera trianglar analyseras med två olika sorters culling-metoder; en metod som gallrar trianglar på sektionsnivå och en metod som gallrar på blocknivå.Resultaten visar att det är mycket fördelaktigt att låta grafikkortet hantera level-of-detail beräkningar på detta vis även om minneskopiering över grafikkortsbussen är ett problem, då det tar upp ungefär åttiofem procent av den totala tiden för att hantera en sektion. RFID har sedan 80-talet vuxit fram inom industri- och transport-branschen som ett sätt att under-lätta spårning av tillgångar och övervakning av informationsflöden genom logistikkedjan. Tek-nologin har idag många olika applikationsområden och används inom en mängd olika verksam-heter. Item-level Tagging (ILT) är ett sätt att utnyttja tekniken genom att märka enskilda varor för att på så sätt ge dem unika identiteter, vilket erbjuder enorm potential inom detaljhandel. Givet potentialen med tekniken vill vi med vår studie undersöka vilka förutsättningar som kommer att krävas för en ökad användning av ILT och RFID inom detaljhandeln. Detta mål uppnås genom att undersöka de barriärer som tidigare har hindrat en ökad användning samt hur dessa barriärer uppfattas i dagsläget.

The aim of this Masters thesis is, with an exploratory stand, to examine the thoughts regarding gender perspective at childrens library service that are expressed from childrens librarians as well as the staff in administrative management. The purpose of the study is to generate ideas for further research and discussion regarding a gender perspective on the childrens library service. A total of eight interviews have been carried out. Three persons at the administrative level and five childrens librarians were interviewed. We also have examined if a gender perspective is expressed in the control documents, from international level to a local level, which the libraries could use when developing and planning their work.

Within the political science literature that deals with the implementation process a central part has long been what is sometimes called the implementation deficit. This means that the effect of a policy decision doesn´t turn out as it was originally intended. The often used explanation is that the policy decisions moves through many levels during its implementation where different actors can change or alter the decision in various degrees. This phenomenon has gradually become more and more attended within the legislative process in the European Union and has been addressed in numerous studies. The county of Dalarna is at present carrying through a process of digitalization where traditional x-ray film is being replaced with digital detectors. Earlier used methods for dose optimization turned out not being sufficient. This report presents a method to harmonize dose levels between x- ray sites equipped with Fujifilm imaging plate systems. An exposure index, S, related to the dose level of the examination is computed to every x-ray image. S turned out to be inversely proportional to the detector dose used at the examination.
