A new phenomenon on the Internet is the online audience response. Mentimeter is a web-based tool where you can create online polls. The users can then cast a vote and the result is shown in real time. We want to test the information visualization in Mentimeter and we base our hypothesis, that a better graph design is possible, on the work of Edward Tufte and Stephen Few. Edward Tufte is an emeritus at Yale University, where he held courses in statistical evidence and information design and has created theories about how visual information should be designed.

Design som har en hög igenkänningsfaktor kan man idag uppleva har blivit mer vanlig då det ofta dyker upp nya produkter och möbler av olika slag som är lätta att känna igen och som vi därför har väldigt lätt att ta till oss. Vi mår bra av att lätt kunna förstå oss på, och man slipper tänka till och fundera kring varför objektet ser ut som det gör, det blir istället väldigt lättläst.Igenkänningsfaktorn spelar alltså en väldigt stor roll, och vi kan dra paralleller till t.ex.ståuppkomiken där ståupparen ofta försöker skapa bilder och situationer som publikenkänner igen sig i, och därför också skrattar åt skämten. Men att igenkänningsfaktorn på designen är hög innebär inte enbart fördelar, utan frågan om vad som är plagiat och inte blir väldigt aktuell när ett objekt är snarlikt ett annat. This essay takes its starting point in the making of a new national general school curriculum for the Swedish elementary school. The purpose of this essay is to estimate what the policy makers intended with the new policy documents and relate that to how a few teachers perceive these changes. In order to get an understanding of how the teachers view these changes I have done qualitative interviews with four teachers which all work in the Swedish elementary school.Theories on "implementation" and "street-level bureaucracy" are used to analyse my empirical material. My results tell that there is a difference how teachers relate to the new curruculum and the policy makers' intentions with it. That can be explained by the fact that teachers' work is complex and as to they work in a complex organization..

Background: The HIV-pandemic is a global concern. Everyday about 6000 adolescents become infected with HIV. The HIV-prevalence in Zambia among adolescents, between 15-24 years, were 3,8% for men and 12,7% for women in year 2005. Aim: The aim of this study was to explore adolescents` knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about HIV/AIDS in Livingstone in Zambia. Method: The sample consisted of 67 adolescents, 33 males and 34 females in age 15-24 years.

Filmmusic is often composed specially for a film. When analyzing film-music it seems very common to study the function of the music in a narrative context in order to see how it cooperates or relates to this narration. In the present thesis I am investigating the interaction between film and music as two ingredients on an equal level. In short: what happens when a filmmaker chooses music that has already been composed for another occasion, even in another time and a different cultural context? My aim is twofold: first to examine current film analytic strategies, secondly to find new ways of comprehend pre-composed music in relation to its new setting in a film.

In this study it has been investigated what is missing in non-strength training women to begin exercise regular strength training. It has also examined the level of knowledge about the health benefits and the employer's encouragement to maintain good health. The study was designed in a qualitative methodology and data collection was designed in form of semi-structured interviews. Six women were interviewed between the ages 22-51år. The results showed that women possessed a very low level of knowledge about strength training and also fears and prejudices existed among them.

Severe floods caused by heavy autumn rains in year 2000 raised the question whether measures to reduce the damage from high water levels, in the area surrounding lake Glafsfjorden and along the river Byälven down to lake Vänern, are possible. One option is to reduce flow resistance along the river and thereby lower the maximum water level a given inflow would cause. Good knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological conditions is necessary in order to estimate the effect of such flow-reducing measures. In order to quantify such effect a 1-dimensional hydraulic flow model has been set up for the river Byälven using the software package MIKE 11. The model is more detailed, especially concerning topography and bathymetry, than earlier models used for studies of the river.

All arable land in Sweden need a proper drainage for an effectively agriculture to take place. Of all arable land in Sweden, about 50% is naturally drained and 50% need artificial drainge. More than half of the tile drained area is in need of new drainage or renewed drainage. A good drainage improves farming and crop growth and increases the opportunity to achieve a high and safe harvest level. Future climate change and agriculture size rationalization will increase the need for good drainage. In this paper, two trials with three drainage distances, performed at Lanna experimental station, were analyzed using a mixed linear model.

The project was made in cooperation with Coffee Queen AB, Arvika. The task was to develop and design a new cooler for the milk to Jura Impressa X9, an espresso machine. The good assistance with staff at Coffee Queen and engineers in China and at KPA in Karlstad led to a solution to the problem. It was a long road to get there, many different concepts was developed. When the day came to decide which concept to work with, the choice stood between two different technical solutions.

The project Design analysis and proposals of plastic screw caps in Australia was performed at Högskolan Dalarna incooperation with University of Western Sydney, Australia. The Swedish company Tetra Pak, in Lund, were assigner forthe project that was performed 2006-2007. The commission was to do a survey about the packages for non-carbonateddrinks in Australia. The bottles had to be plastic, able to open in one step and with focus on the caps.The project has result in design analysis and a new proposal of a plastic screw cap for the Australian market. Sixbottles were choosen and they were all testet on 20 consumers each with a Likert-scale test.

Ekonomistyrning är något som behövs för att en verksamhet ska fungera och styrning sker i första hand inifrån organisationen. För att styrningen ska fungera på ett tillfredställande sätt så är det viktigt att ha ett informationssystem som kan generar rätt information som ska ligga till grund för beslut, planering och uppföljning av verksamheten.Det problem som uppstått i Paradisverkstan Design AB och som ligger till grund för uppsatsen är att det finns någon löpande kontrollen av företagets ekonomi. Företagets ekonomistyrning är i behov av förbättringar då verksamheten under de senaste åren vuxit i omfattning. Informationsflödet i företaget är inte tillräckligt i förhållande till dess storlek och för att lösa detta krävs ett fungerande system för internredovisning. Syftet med uppsatsen är att identifiera kriterierna för ett bra internredovisningssystem för framtagning av rapporter åt Paradisverkstaden Design AB och finna utgångspunkter för vidare utveckling av systemet. Tillvägagångssättet i studien är en abduktiv forskningsansats med en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod.
