Bakgrund Storstockholms brandförsvar (SSBF) har sedan bildandet 2009 arbetat mot en mer kostnadseffektiv organisation. Detta är ett relativt nytt sätt att tänka inom räddningstjänsten. Denna typ av organisationer har traditionellt sett opererat utan kostnadsfokus. För att beskriva räddningstjänsten organisatoriskt har vi använt oss av teoribildningen kring high reliability organizations (HROs), organisationer som alltid sätter säkerheten först. Arbetet mot en kostnadseffektivare organisation beskriver vi i termer av new public management (NPM) och lean production (Lean).

Bakgrund: Inom ett byggprojekt är det många aktörer inblandade vilket gör kedjan mycketkomplex. Det finns flertalet logistiska strategier som har till syfte att förbättra logistiken. Enav dessa strategier är Lean vars huvudsyfte är att skapa värdeökande aktiviteter för sinakunder. Under de senaste åren har Building Information Modelling (BIM) blivit allt mer känt.Det är ett informationssystem och en arbetsprocess som har till syfte att bryta ned ettbyggprojekts processer för att skapa ett högre värde för kunden. BIM är ett verktyg som ritar3D-modeller och innehåller information om varje objekt.

During my studies to become a guitar builder at Carl Malmsten CTD, I have found an interest in the construction of the classical guitar. I am fascinated by the simplicity of its construction. A simplicity that becomes more complex when you start to study it in detail.In my final thesis I will not try to explain this complexity. The subject is to investigate two different principles regarding its construction. I would like to find out if the sayings concerning one of the principles will yield a guitar with greater ability to produce volume and projection.At a close distance the difference between the guitar?s volumes is not to speak of, but a significant difference can be seen regarding one of the guitars ability to project its sound.

Detta görs genom att minimera allt slöseri med hjälp av Kaizen som innebär att små ständiga förbättringar eftersträvas. För att detta ska kunna lyckas spelar individen en central roll.

Sammanfattning Detta arbete beskriver de studier som utförts vid implementering av Last Planner planeringsmetod, i projektet att bygga LKAB:s flotationsanläggning i Svappavaara. Studien har bedrivits vid institutionen för Samhällsbyggnad i Luleå och LKAB:s malmförädlingsverk i Svappavaara. Arbetet inleder med en granskning av litteratur om teorier och grundtankar om Lean Construction. Filosofin bakom Lean Construction bygger på att avlägsna alla processer som inte skapar mervärde för kunden. Tankegångarna kommer från den Japanska bilindustrin och då främst från Toyotas framgångsrika produktionssystem TPS.

The aim of this thesis is to describe and compare the cataloguing rules for sound recordings: the rules used by a specialised archive and common libraries respectively. We will put the rules in relation to purposes (the objectives of a bibliographic system) and principles (directives that guide the construction of a bibliographic language). The first question to be answered is in which way the set of rules used by a specialised archive differ from the one used by common libraries. The second question examines if and how the differences can be derived from purposes and principles. The sets of rules studied are KRS (chapter 6) and the Swedish version of the IASA Cataloguing Rules (1999), worked out by the National Archive of Sound and Moving Images (SLBA).

SammanfattningLean Production är ett tankesätt för att effektivisera en verksamhet med fokus på att eliminera slöseri, skapa engagemang hos medarbetare samt ständiga och systematiska förbättringar. För att genomföra detta finns ett antal Lean-verktyg som initialt tagits fram för bilindustrin vilken är en typisk verkstadsindustri och karakteriseras av diskreta produkter. Processindustrin skiljer sig från verkstadsindustrin genom sitt kontinuerliga materialflöde. Det är därför inte helt naturligt att tillämpa Lean-verktygen på processindustrin.Rapportens syfte är att undersöka vilka av dessa verktyg som anses vara lämpliga att använda i processindustrin och då specifikt inom den svenska pappersindustrin. Det görs genom att studera redan befintlig vetenskaplig litteratur inom området Lean i processindustrin, för att sedan kategorisera de vanligaste verktygen efter lämplighet för användning inom pappersindustrin.

This study is about to see whether the two models representing the strategies of lean production is to use and apply in different companies. The models are structured in two different ways in which one of them is checking the softer elements of lean production in the form of leadership and strategies. This model is called Lesat and is based on interviewquestions. The second model, called "learning to see" is about identifying flows. This, together shall then give an idea of how mature companies are when it comes to a whole in the concept of lean production, and susceptibility to use these models to their respective companies. The study is conducted in two companies, SKF couplings systems and AQ parkoprint.

This bachelor thesis has the purpose to visualize and document the air movementsprovided by different ventilation principles in an operating theatre. The visualizationwill be made as simple as possible in a physical model. The model and thedocumentation should be able to use in educational purposes.The study is based on the two most common systems for airflow, currently used inoperating theatres. The first principle is displacement ventilation in which the air issupplied at low velocity along the floor. The second principle is vertical parallel laminarairflow in which the air is compressed like a piston from ceiling to the floor.A review of literature resulted in the choice of size, design, and scale factor for themodel, as well as choices of ventilation principles and airflows.

Vilken strategi ett tillverkande företag arbetar efter kan variera och bero på en mängd olika faktorer. En effektiv tillverkning kan bli komplicerad när marknaden efterfrågar allt mer skräddarsydda produkter med varierande egenskaper. För att bemöta denna typ av komplexitet finns en rad strategier och modeller som har fått global spridning. En av dessa strategier är lean production, ett begrepp som vuxit fram utifrån studier genomförda på den japanska tillverkningsindustrin.I denna studie undersöktes varför lean production valdes som styrningsfilosofi i ett svenskt tillverkande företag, vilka förändringar detta inneburit samt vilka åsikter som fanns kring förändringsarbetet. Insamling av empiri har skett genom att genomföra en fallstudie på företaget Trioplast Sifab.

Effects of climate change, urbanization and global homogenization are resulted in the degradation of land and losses of natural habitats. Ecological design integrates nature into urban environment by respecting natural ecological principles and processes and creating resilient urban biotopes which also can be used by local urban communities. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions: How ecological design principles can be applied for re-design of Toledo Riverfront (with requirements of the design competition)? and What is the ecological design in landscape architecture? I participated in the USA design competition with the aim to create a vision and redesign of Toledo Riverfront in Ohio State, USA. The site is located in the south point of Lake Erie. As a result of a long industrial activity, riverfront of Toledo had been transformed into inaccessible and abandoned brownfields. In my proposal I applied ecological design principles on three scales: the city of Toledo by reinforcing of ecological connection and creating green corridors along the river; the intermediate scale by suggesting public parks along the river front and on the fine level by proposing detailed design including remediation of the site and use of dredged material.

En kvalitetsförbättrande metod som senaste åren blivit vanlig inom Hälso- och sjukvård är Lean Healthcare - en verksamhetsfilosof som går ut på att eliminera slöseri och skapa värde för patienterna. I takt med att informationssystem och informationsteknik (IT) har utvecklats har informationsförsörjning fått en allt viktigare roll i vårdprocessen. Tidigare undersökningar visar dock att vårdpersonalen upplever att det finns många brister kopplade till informationssystem och IT. En explorativ fallstudie genomfördes där kvalitativ data samlades in med hjälp av intervjuer, dokumentstudier samt observation. Syftet var att beskriva hur informationsförsörjningen påverkats i ett kliniskt mikrosystem och i en vårdprocess som infört Lean.

Today multi-touch technology is the basis for many new techniques designed to improve interactions with computers and mobile devices. It seems that multi-touch screen interface makes the user handling very natural in the sense that there is no need for a manual in how to interact with the object on the screen. The aim with this paper is to establish a fundamental set of design principles intended specifically for large multi-touch interfaces. To reach this goal we have implemented a couple of sub-goals beforehand: It was essential that we acquired a good understanding of the current state of the multi-touch interface and the different implementations that exist today. To make this possible we constructed a multi-touch display, "Rosie". Knowing how the hardware is produced today will help us understand the limitations and also the possibilities of the design implementations today and in the future. We also needed to devise a sound interaction design process that conveys the modern designers work.

Denna utvärdering ämnar svara på om arbetssättet Lean har minskat stressen, ökat stödet och ökat effektiviteten hos medarbetarna i en enhet hos Försäkringskassan. En webenkät har använts för att samla in den empiri som har analyserats. Slutsatserna visar på att medarbetarna anser att Lean i begränsad utsträckning har minskat stressen, delvis ökat stödet i deras arbete och i mindre utsträckning ökat deras effektivitet..

AbstractResource efficient manufacturing is a term that has been increasingly applied within manufacturing, where one of the key points is to reduce waste of such forms that do not add value for the end customer. By the Lean principles, there are seven plus one types of waste, in which the definition of the eighth point varies among sources. In this study, the eighth type of waste has been interpreted as the untapped creativity and competence among employees that has not been put to use. From this, our question was incubated; How can you make the most of the employees? untapped creativity and potential within manufacturing? The case study will be developed with empirical data obtained from Dometic Group by conducting interviews.From the gathered literature, it was concluded that the communication between employees contributed to an increased understanding of one another as well as it allowed for improvement in work.
